Coming back to my small Wyoming hometown was supposed to be temporary. I only planned to stay long enough to help my ailing mother and sort through the mess of my family’s old belongings.

REVIEW:
Another winner from Penelope Ward! I listened to the audiobook of The Challenge, narrated in duet by Connor Crais and Desiree Ketchum, who both delivered fabulous performances, rich in the kind of chemistry and authenticity that brought these characters to life. This was a real heartstring-puller, full of genuine emotion, searing chemistry, found family and a truly satisfying storyline.
This unputdownable single dad romance was what I like to call a reconnection romance, meaning it was a lovely blend of a second chance romance—because the first chance wasn’t taken—mixed with some childhood best friends-to-lovers tension and angsty emotion and facilitated by forced proximity. I burned through a set of ear buds AND my headphones listening to this in a single day because I simply could not put it down! The Challenge by Penelope Ward gets five smooches from me!
