Synopsis

Trey Taylor was loving life. Bass player to the world famous rock band Devil’s Lair, chicks falling to their knees at every turn, no one to be held accountable to for his actions…life rocked.

He had all he needed, food to sustain his body, sex to sustain his libido, rock to sustain his soul. For years he walked to the beat of his own drum, and made no excuses to anyone. Running and hiding can temporarily distract your fate, but it won’t derail it. Fate was coming for him, whether he liked it or not.

His past was gaining ground and threatening all the secrets he desperately tried to hide. His present was slowing him down, making him feel emotions he buried years ago. The two are about to collide. Will Trey survive the impact?

Review

“The freedom that comes from being invisible is teasing me slowly with every mile I drive. For the first time in my life, I feel at peace and maybe even a bit optimistic. For the first time in my life , I am looking forward to tomorrow.”

I absolutely had no idea what to expect when I jumped into this blind and was so glad I did! This is by far my favorite book in the series! Trey Taylor had so much more depth to him than I could have ever expected and I was blown away by how many feels he and his story gave me! I expected this to be another bad boy rocker meets the right girl to change him story! Not that there is anything wrong with those, I love them! But what I found with Backstage was so much more. Trey’s story broke my heart and left me a bit broken for him and all he went through!

“I’m Trey Taylor, the asshole.”

I’m gonna leave Trey’s interest out of this for a few reasons, while there this is most defineately his story and how he came to be who he is and why he acts the way he does. But mostly because inorder to understand the complexity of this relationship you need to experience the book. Trust me you won’t be let down. Trey is a supreme ass and uses women for sex and to clear his mind and then discards him. You want to hate him but you just can’t, his life and his story has you feeling deeply for him and all you can do is hope that he can see the error in his ways and that he learns that he too has worth!

“It’s a mild first kiss. No tongue, no passion, just touch. Yet, it still rocks me to my core.”

I have loved A.M. Madden’s books since I read the very first one and as much as I love Jack and Leila I can easily say that this is my favorite. With every book she writes A.M gets better and better and I absolutely cannot wait to see what she has in store for us in the future!
