Synopsis
It seemed like a good idea at the time. Get over my break-up by having a one-night stand with a rock ‘n’ roll hottie and move on with my life. Going on tour as official photographer to the world’s number one band was not part of the plan.

I didn’t even know who Ozstryker were when my reckless sister Beth dragged me along to their concert. I went solely to keep her out of trouble, not for me to get tangled up with the famous guitarist renowned for his magnificent shirtless torso and talented fast hands.
I had no intention of becoming a groupie, let alone anything else. But when Jax Ozstryker invited me on a date, I decided it was time for a little fun. Not that the night ended how I had planned – or how he planned, for that matter – I got a job and he didn’t get laid.
Now I’m on tour with the biggest band in the world with my crazy, unpredictable sister for company and a beautiful dangerous attraction for my new boss. I never dreamed life could be so crazy. Or complicated.
But this is life on the road – where nothing makes sense and everything is possible.
Review
Beautiful Dangerous follows the story of hard working, has a passion for photography Layla and guitar playing, has a shy side Jax. Layla goes to a concert with her crazy sister Beth to see the group Ozstryker, while in the crowd she gets picked out by none other than Jax to receive backstage passes. Thinking it’s a mistake Layla declines, but Beth isn’t having any of that as she wants to meet the band.
Layla agrees to go on a date with Jax thinking that it would be a onetime thing, have one night with Jax and then move on. The date was something that Layla didn’t expect, but the night didn’t end quite as planned. Layla after listening to her sister decides to up her flirting, unknown to her though she cannot flirt. All she ends up doing it making a fool of herself in a comical way.
Deciding to kill two birds with one stone, Layla agrees to go on four month tour the group is about to go on after Beth was invited by Jimmy. She goes to keep her impulsive sister out of trouble and she also goes as the bands official photography. This for her means that Jax is now off limits as he is technically her boss.
Jax isn’t sure what he wants, he has a past that makes it hard for him to see the good in all people. He has been hurt and in a harsh and unforgiving way, before he admits the way he feels he needs to know that Layla can handle the life that he leads. Staying with her on tour is literally hard for him as he really likes her, but knows that things can happen just yet. “A part of me is demanding I stay away from you. That it would only end badly if I don’t. But then there is another part of me that just can’t leave you alone.”
Crossing the lines of friends/employee-employer to lovers and more, Jax and Layla have to navigate what the new status means for them. People from the pat come back to cause problems, fights happen, words are thrown at each other, tears are shed and relationships are tested. Will they get the ending they deserve?
I really enjoyed this book, and I would happily read more from Penny Dee. Beautiful Dangerous had me laughing, shouting at my kindle and completely engrossed that I couldn’t put it down.
