Eden is suffering from heartache and just wanting to start over- no complications, no relationships- should be simple enough right? That is until she meets Killian- he’s sexy and broody and definitely emotionally unavailable but that doesn’t stop Eden from starting to see there is more to Killian and the more she starts to see the more she likes. Killian is battling his own demons and no matter what he might feel for Eden he can’t let her get too close, for her sake. Will these two be overcome their pasts and find happiness with each other?

I have to say hats off to this author for a great debut novel! This was a sweet, intense, slow burner romance with two characters you really get to know and can cheer for. In a very competitive genre this author managed to come up with two brilliant characters and love story line that kept you engaged and wanting to get to the end and the hopeful HEA!

Eden and Killian were both complex and beautiful in their own ways. Eden is obviously still stung from the betrayal and just wanting to start fresh- something a lot of us can relate to. Despite this she still manages to be head strong, funny, and can handle her own but on the other side of this I love how careful and kind she is with Killian when he needs her to be. When we find out all about Killian’s past and the demons he is battling my heart breaks for him; I couldn’t blame him for wanting to protect Eden and that in itself made me love him. He also has that alpha, broody, sexy male thing going down – combine that with his more sensitive side and it’s a winning combination.

This is a slow burner love story which I prefer so much more over the insta-love ones- you get the chance to really delve into the characters and what they are feeling. It’s not just a love story though, it’s also a story about overcoming past hurts and learning to leave behind the demons of the past. There’s chemistry, laughter, drama and quite an intense last few chapters which were quite unexpected! Overall a really great romance read from an author I’m excited to read more from!
