Burn by Callie Hart Review

Bodybuilder

Synopsis

Sloane
I’m not safe.
I haven’t been safe for a while now.
I ran to Zeth for protection, but Zeth is in danger himself. With Julio on one side, and the leader of the Widow Makers MC on the other, the smartest thing to do would be to run. I’ve been running long enough, though.
This is the closest I’ve come to finding my sister in two years.
I can’t back down now.

Zeth
My right hand man’s being tortured in the basement.
The guy who tried to buy Sloane’s virginity is burning rubber in our direction.
My psychotic boss is on a mission to find me, and the girl I’m supposed to be keeping safe has landed herself right in the middle of all of this.
Just another breezy weekend in the Californian desert.
What could possibly go wrong in the next 48 hours?

Review

The third installment of the Blood and Roses series had so many twists and turns, I was on the edge of my seat! Some very interesting characters are introduced and it would appear that Sloane is slowly losing her even-keeled demeanor. She finally makes contact with her sister. Yes, finally, but the circumstances are dire. Throughout all the crazy madness that surrounds Zeth and Sloane in Julio’s house, they find their strength within each other. It is becoming quite apparent that they are not just using each other just for sex. They have a symbiotic soothing effect on each other.

BURN teaser

The wonderful thing about this series, is yes, the twists and turns and yes, the high energy sex-capades, but it’s also the relationships depicted. There are many, many layers to all the characters, and I absolutely love how Callie peels those away to reveal true humanity. No one is inherently good, and truthfully, no one is completely bad. Everyone in these stories seem to be grasping for their own sense of peace, and I cannot wait to see if Zeth and Sloane find it.
