Synopsis

Grace Shaw is on the run from her crazy ex-boyfriend who refuses to believe their relationship is over. He’s a cop and is willing to use police resources to track her down. So Grace comes up with a plan and tricks his fellow brothers in blue into thinking crying wolf a couple of times when he’s reported her missing. Little does she know she’ll go running into the arms of a real wolf when she finally makes her escape for real.

She just wants to be left alone, but then she meets Hunter Tate – the alpha of the Black River Pack. Grace tries to hold Hunter at arm’s length, but there’s just no reasoning with an alpha male werewolf who insists she’s his mate.

This is book one in the Black River Pack series. Each novella will feature a different couple.

Review

“But even though she was small, she had curves that were just begging to be touched. Licked. Sucked. Bitten.”

This being only my second shifter book I wasn’t sure how I would feel about it! But I have to admit, I really really enjoyed it. Wolves make some of the best Alphas and I am a super sucker for an Alpha Male! I love the intsta-connection that they feel and the fact that they are even more alpha-licious than the normal alpha-male really get me excited!

“I’d already claimed her as mine. She was just going to be the last one to know it.”

Grace is on the run from an abusive ex and she is keeping all this hidden from her new boss and super sexy bar owner, Hunter. Hunter, unknown to Grace is the Alpha of the Black River Pack and from the moment he meets Grace he is sure she is his mate. I LOVE how strong these shifters feel for their mates and how protective they are. Why does it get me so excited when at the first drop of trouble they have their women moved in and under their watch all the time. Hunter is no different and when it seems like Grace’s secret past is finally catching up to her he takes that opportunity to move her in and take over the situation. But when is he going to let her know about the depth of his feelings and the truth of who or what he really is?

“Don’t worry about me, Gracie-mine. There’s nothing here that can harm me.”

This was my second book by Rochelle Paige and I am completely convinced that she gives good Alpha and being an Alpha Whore I am only too excited to read more from her and after enjoying this book I look forward to more from this new paranormal series by her as well. My only qualm with this book was that it was a novella, I enjoyed it so much I wish there was even more. But even with the shorter length I felt the story was well developed and full. No cliffy and a wonderful HEA!
