Synopsis

I’m not crazy. My mother may have died with everyone believing she was insane, but I refuse to accept that as my fate. Even if I am recalling memories about a life I never lived. A life that includes the mysterious James—a guy I’ve only just met, but feel as if I’ve known all my life. The memories are coming hard and fast, and I’m falling down a rabbit hole with consequences that far exceed anything I could have ever imagined. And now, someone is trying to kill me.

Someone from my past who knows about my visions and is looking for something he believes I took from him. All I have to do is figure out how these memories relate to the present and maybe I’ll survive to live another day.

Review

Abby refuses to believe that she is crazy, refuses to accept that she is having the same memories and visions that her mum had who died with everyone believing she was crazy. But Abby won’t accept that and now she is having memories of a life she has never lived. Throw in the mysterious James who she has just met but feels like she has known forever and the fact that someone is after her, wanting to kill her, Abby may not be crazy but her life certainly is and things are getting dangerous. Can she survive long enough to figure everything out and have a second chance at everlasting love?

“It was happening – everything I’d ever feared. I was becoming my worst nightmare. I was becoming my mother.”

This was a book unlike anything I have ever read before and part of me loved it and part of me struggled with it. The concept was intriguing and the love story was beautiful but it did get confusing at times with the constant switching back and forth. But I can’t deny that the book captivated me and was a refreshing change from the other romances out there.

“My eyes rolled closed as some kind of firework ripped through my body and exploded in my gut. Everything wrong with us, every reason why I shouldn’t be with him, vanished because in that moment, everything was right.”

Abby was instantly likeable for me. She was going through so much but still remained strong and determined to find out what was going on around her. James was just as likeable. His feelings for Abby just reached out of the pages and touched my heart. And the connection between the two was so beautiful and intense- a love so strong that it really did travel across time.

“We were two halves of the same whole, bound together for eternity, and this time, I wasn’t letting go.”

This wasn’t just a romance story, it wasn’t even just a romance story with elements of time travel. It had so many elements to it such as mystery, murder, heartbreak…it definitely had a lot going on to keep you entertained. There are other characters that play important roles and keep you guessing as to what is going on and who is after Abbey. As mentioned before, it does get a bit confusing at times and it was hard to follow at points but the characters and the plot itself was very intriguing and kept me reading to the explosive end!
