Review

Wow.  Just freaking wow.  I cannot possibly tell you all the ways that I love this book.  Let me start with the gorgeous cover.  It really is dark and scintillating; just like the book and I am so in love with it.  I love Mia’s writing.  It has a dark undertone and is so damn erotic.  Whew.  This book blew me away.

Blaire is a really interesting heroine.  She is a bitch and unfeeling for the most part but once I understood her background and childhood, I found myself sympathizing with her and really wanting her to make better decisions for herself.

“Blaire won’t be bullied by the cool kids in school.  This Blaire won’t be ignored.”

But of course, she doesn’t.  ;).  Blaire has meaningless sex with rich men and in return gets money.  Lots of it.  It also makes her feel powerful to use men for what they can give her.  She loves that men want her.

“They want me.  They want to touch me, grope me, feel me … they want to screw me.  And it feels good to be wanted … so good.  It makes me feel powerful, like a potent drug spreading inside your bloodstream, I want more.”

But then Blaire meets Ronan and is kind of a game changer for her.  He is not rich.  Not powerful.  He can’t really offer her anything but his love and Blaire really wants to bask in it.

“But Ronan makes me want to let my hair down and dance in the rain.”

God, I loved Ronan so much.  He is sweet, kind, and giving; a family man.  Combine all that with his gorgeousness and how alpha he is and he is a deadly combination.

“Oh, Ronan, how you make my heart glow.”

But Ronan has competition.  A lot of it.  Blaire is set against be weakened by love and Lawrence with all his money and power enters the picture making for a sexy and sultry love triangle to rival all love triangles.

“Do you pray, Lawrence?”

“I don’t.  You?”

“I used to until I realized God is deaf.  Now every time I kneel, it isn’t to pray.”

Lord, this book left on a HUGE cliffy.  I am dying to find out what happens next.  Does Blaire continue to be a gold digging bitch or does she find a heart?  Who does she choose and why?  I have no idea how she is going to pick.  Both of these men are beast between the sheets!  I cannot wait to find out!
