Girl Of His Dreams by Janet Nissenson Review

Synopsis

He was convinced he’d be a bachelor for life. And then he met the girl of his dreams.

Jordan Reeves has fully embraced the carefree, uncomplicated bachelor life, figuring that the poor example he’d been provided by his parents of so-called marital bliss was reason enough to remain single. He’s more than content to date one woman after another and never even consider settling down, especially since the only female who’s ever seriously caught his attention belongs to another man.

But during a vacation in Hawaii, Jordan unexpectedly meets a woman who could very easily change his mind about the joys of bachelorhood. Aubrey Larson is young, gorgeous, fun-loving, and has a wicked sense of humor to match his own. She’s also a dead ringer for the woman Jordan’s had an admitted crush on for the past few years, enough to be mistaken for her twin.

Aubrey recognizes the handsome Doctor Reeves as a player of epic proportions the first time they meet, but even her usual disdain for that type of male can’t diminish the overwhelming attraction she feels for him. But as their relationship deepens, Aubrey has no idea that becoming involved with Jordan will lead to a startling discovery about her own past, and cause her to question his true feelings for her.

Review

Jordan needs to get away for a few weeks and move past his crush he has on one of his patients, a patient who his happily married with two lovely children. So Jordan escapes, and it’s no secret he can attract quite a number of females; after all he is doctor dreamy and has his fair share of admirers. What he didn’t count on was the feisty and gorgeous Aubrey crashing into his life. All seems to be going well until Aubrey believes there’s a reason why Jordan liked her so quickly; a crush from his past but not be all that causes problems between these two.

“he unexpectedly found himself tongue-tied -he, Jordan Reeves, who’d acquired a reputation as the smoothest of smooth talkers, who was nearly as renowned for his suave pick-up lines as he was for his prowess between the sheets, and who was never at a loss for words no matter the occasion.”

This was an enjoyable romance read with a little drama thrown in. It was an easy read and perfect for those looking for a fun, flirty, sexy romance with two likeable lead characters.

“You deserve a hell of a lot more than a quick fuck in a dark closet, baby. You should be worshipped, savored, adored every single time you make love.”

Jordan was undoubtedly a player when we first meet him. He doesn’t try to hide it and despite this I still found him endearing and attractive. However he knows a good thing when he sees it and the way he fell for Aubrey so quickly was so sweet and I actually felt really sorry for him when Aubrey discovers Tessa. You could tell how much he adores her and how much he wanted it to work out. Aubrey was a great female lead; she had this naivety about her which showed her innocence but she was also a feisty and strong young woman. I may have wanted to shake her and shout at her when she doubts Jordan’s love for her but I also couldn’t blame her for it!

“And believe me, darlin’, I fully intend to take care of every single one of your needs tonight. Satisfy them better than any other man has ever done for you, or ever will again. Easy now.”

This is first and foremost a love story; we watch two characters meet and grow into a relationship together. Its sweet and sexy and definitely very steamy at times. It was enjoyable to watch these two come together and fall in love. But we also have a secondary story to do with family which was actually a pleasant surprise! I enjoyed we got this second element which added a little something extra. I can’t give too much away but it was definitely a shock and I loved how we had the viewpoint from the other characters involved. So if you are looking for a sweet, easy romance read with a little surprise thrown in then this is the book for you.
