Review

I have read all of Angela Graham’s and SE Hall’s books together and when I found out they were writing a full length novel I was super excited.  When I found out what the book was about, I have to admit I had my reservations.  I just didn’t think the whole reality show in a book was going to work.  Boy, was I wrong!  I loved Matched!

This book is told from Harlow’s point of view.  You briefly meet Harlow in one of SE and Angela’s previous books together, Handled.  You definitely do not need to read Handled to enjoy Matched but I was just so surprised to see Harlow again I thought I would mention that in case anyone happened to miss that little fact.  Harlow is back together with her super star football playing childhood sweetheart, Oakley.  Oakley takes Harlow on a reality show to help his stardom and things get CRAZY!

Imagine 16 men and women forced to live together in paradise to raise money for the charity of their choice.  People from all walks of life;  actors, porn stars, and just regular old people trying to find their “soul mate” on a show called Date, Mate, Fate.

Gosh, this book had it all.  Although this book is told from Harlow’s POV, you really do get to experience each character on the show.  I have no idea how the authors managed to do that but I really felt that I knew each individual; like i was actually watching a reality show.  There was a little something for everyone.  The mean girls, the bad boys, the good girls, the sexy people.  It was a little overwhelming in the best possible way.  It was sexy and funny and I could not put it down!

“Is it just me, or did that sound like she was taking her turn in a game of clue?  ‘On the couch, with my mouth, in the Great Room.’

When I wasn’t entrenched in who was having sex with who and laughing my butt off at the confessional booth, I was enjoying how the characters were trying to play and win the game.

“This is your plan Indiemma Jones.  Don’t look at us!”

But, really what is most intriguing about this story is the big question “IS THE COMPUTER RIGHT ABOUT THE SOUL MATES?!”  And will Harlow end up with Oakley, her childhood sweetheart, or have they outgrown each other?

“This place, this show, has forever changed who I am.”

This is a seriously entertaining book and so very different from so many other romance novels out there today.  The ending was perfect and so very sweet with all the feels!  It was a breath of fresh air and I absolutely loved being proved wrong;  one of my favorite reads lately!
