REVIEW:

I’ve read each book in Lila Monroe’s Billionaire Bachelors series, and I’ve enjoyed them all. Best Man is the sixth and final book in her Billionaire Bachelors series, and I’m sad this fantastically fun and steamy series is over. Romantic comedies based on the fake relationship trope, they’ve all been light-hearted, easy reads that were full of humor and heat but low on the angst and drama. Monroe’s writing never fails to pull me into her stories with vivid descriptions, attention to details and unique plots. One of the things I appreciate most about her writing is the way she thoroughly develops her stories, filling them with imaginative elements and interesting side characters that help to paint a vibrant picture for the reader. Building on that foundation, Monroe’s creative plots about endearing couples and their sexy romances are always an enjoyable reading experience for her readers.

Best Man was a bit of a different take on the fake fiancé storyline, and of the six books in the series, this one was the most emotional. Left at the altar by her original fake groom, Becca is in a bit of a jam when she runs into the best man at a bar as she’s drowning her sorrows in tequila and fries. A devastatingly handsome Brit, Fritz, listens to her tale of woe and offers to step in. Fritz has worked hard to cultivate his reputation as the notoriously carefree playboy everyone knows him to be. But Becca sees past all of that, beyond the façade he shows the world, to the kind, thoughtful man beneath the surface. The heat between Fritz and Becca was fiery, and while it may have started out as a business arrangement, there was no faking their chemistry—or the very real feelings they both were developing. But millions of dollars are hanging in the balance, and not everyone is buying the new couple’s story.

A humor-rich plot and a sexy, sweet, swoon-worthy romance about a couple I was pulling for from the start, I smiled the whole way through Best Man. This book was a fantastic end to a series full of entertaining, amusing, fun-to-read romances. Best Man by Lila Monroe gets 4.5 smooches from me!

REVIEW:

There hasn’t been a single book that Meghan Quinn has written that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. Her writing style is an addictive blend of humor, emotion and heat. Her stories are so funny because her sense of humor is so wild, and she communicates it in a vivid way that inevitably has me laughing out loud. I easily get caught up in the hilarious antics and witty banter of her characters, forgetting that this author is sneakily adept at rendering me breathless with a power punch of feelings—something that she does to me time after time. Because I’m so wrapped up in the humor and romance, the emotional battering I suffer at her words never fails to surprise me, regardless of the fact that I know it’s coming.

I was drawn right into Roark and Sutton’s story from the first page. I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance, and Diary of a Bad Boy was a fantastic one. The deck was seemingly stacked against this couple from the start with not only a bit of an age gap, but also a forbidden edge due to the fact that Sutton was the daughter of one of Roark’s clients. They couldn’t have been more different with him a hard partying, rough-around-the-edges, jaded Irish alpha male, and her a hard-working, proper, and polite Southern girl. Yet they somehow worked spectacularly well together. I couldn’t get enough of their back-and-forth chatter, and the chemistry absolutely sizzled between them.

This couple’s first meeting was not an epic meet-cute—it was a crash and burn. Both of them stayed true to who they were in this book, something I really liked, and in doing so they wound up challenging each other in surprising ways. This unlikely pairing actually wound up balancing each other out, and I loved every single second of them finding their way.

Packed with all the feels, Diary of a Bad Boy was an emotional, sexy romance that made my heart ache as often as it raced. I laughed, I swooned, and I loved right along with Roark and Sutton as I devoured this book. Meghan Quinn’s Diary of Bad Boy gets five smooches from me!

REVIEW:

I read the author’s dedication in the beginning of the book, and my heart was in my throat. I just knew that Lani was going to channel that pain into this story. I was right—she did. Vale has written other gut-wrenching, devastating stories, like Mess Me Up for example, but this one was very different. Keep It Classy had a distinctly personal feel to it, and this is one of the things about this author’s writing that makes her work so special. She shares pieces of her life, her observations, and little things that happen in it and to her, her family and her friends. These parts of her stories are what I love most about Lani’s books. Those real-feeling conversations and incidents that happen to everyday people, written with Vale’s spin, are what make her stories so relatable and addictive. In Keep It Classy, it just so happens that it was an emotionally painful experience that Lani drew upon to form the backbone of this plot.

But in true Lani style, she balances all the heavy emotion with some well-timed, appropriately placed humor, a sexy romance and an interesting, suspenseful plot. Witty banter and explosive chemistry pulled me into Turner and Castiel’s romance, but it was the sweet, swoon-worthy way their initially antagonistic relationship morphed into a tender and sexy love that kept me tapping that pages of my Kindle. Vale nailed it in this story, proving she can pack in all the feels and still turn out an amusing, entertaining story. Five smooches from me for Keep It Classy by Lani Lynn Vale!
