5 Smooches!
Synopsis
It’s just a docuseries about your career as an OB/GYN, they said.
It won’t interrupt your life during or after filming, they said.
It is a great opportunity for the hospital and your practice, they said.
Well, they—the television executives who seem intent on ruining my career and personal life with a fair number of creative liberties—lied.
Now I’m stuck dealing with the consequences of believing them.
Instead of being known as Dr. Will Cummings, Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital, I’m now being called Dr. Obscene.
What devotion I’d hoped to earn in respect, I’ve instead received in patients flashing me seductive smiles and flirtatious winks during their exams.
How’s a guy supposed to convince the most perfect woman he’s ever met that he’s not as much of an idiot in real life as he appears to be on camera?
With all of the show’s side effects taking root like parasites, it’s going to take a lot to persuade Melody Marco to be anything more than my new nurse.
But I can’t get her out of my head.
I want her.
Good thing I’ve never been one to back away from a challenge…
Get ready, Melody.
The doctor is in.

Review
The comedic geniuses behind the talented author duo, Max Monroe, have kicked off another must-read romcom series with this book! Dr. OB is the first book in the St. Luke’s Docuseries, and it is as fiery, funny and fabulously well written as readers have come to expect from them. Brimming with hilarity, snappy banter, a heart-tugging romance and smoking hot passion, this story pulled me in from page one.
The plot was fresh, entertaining and totally believable. It’s a brilliant concept and the perfect platform to showcase Max Monroe’s sense of humor. While not overly angsty, there were still plenty of feels to be had here. Will’s frustration over his creatively-edited portrayal on the hospital-based reality show bled through the story, and I felt his desperation to distance himself from that image. Melody was a woman in transition. She’d just ended a long-term relationship, relocated back to New York, moved in with her parents and was trying to rediscover herself and her professional passion when she met Will.
Will was an irresistible hero. Adonis-sexy, heart-meltingly swoony and a filthy-mouthed dirty-talker, he was also charming, genuine and thoughtful. Melody was a sassy, smart and strong-willed heroine who may not have known exactly what she wanted, but she was determined to figure it out. Their love story was sweet, romantic and scorchingly sexy.
My heart swelled, my cheeks burned, and I smiled from cover-to-cover as I devoured this addictive romantic comedy. I laughed, lamented and loved right along with Will and Melody as they chased their happily-ever-after. This book was everything that I hoped it would be, and I can’t wait for more! Five smooches from me for Max Monroe’s Dr. OB!

Son Of A Beard by Lani Lynn Vale Release Blitz

Truth Alan Reacher was a biker. He was a bladesmith. What he was not, was a fool.
The moment he walked in on his girl screwing his cousin on his bike, he does the only thing he can do.
He ditches the bike seat—and the girl—riding right out of her life without a backwards glance.
That is until he’s forced to attend the marriage of his cousin to his cheating ex-girlfriend. The only bright spot of the entire thing was watching some chick go off on the groom—the groom’s ex-fiancé—right in the middle of the bouquet toss.
***
Verity Ruthann Cassidy was supposed to be here today attending this wedding as the bride, not watching the festivities as a guest from the chairs she’d painstakingly purchased covers for while her fiancé—now her ex-fiancé—screwed around on her with another woman.
The icing on the wedding cake that she refuses to eat? She’s forced to attend the wedding due to her mother being the wedding planner.
However, the night doesn’t turn out quite the way she expects it due to the hot-as-hell biker sitting in the chair directly beside her. The man gave one hell of a speech during the reception that sounded like something that could have come straight out of her own mouth, and she enjoyed every single second of it.
***
Thrown together under similarly lousy circumstances, the two newly single jilted former lovers of the happy couple decide to go to Vegas on what was to be Verity’s honeymoon trip.
One thing leads to another, and the next thing they know, their night has gone from a celebration of being single to a marriage—to each other.
Verity and Truth now have to figure out if everything that happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas.

Review
I adore Lani Lynn Vale’s books, and they never fail to disappoint me. Each month, like clockwork, I know I’m going to get something special within the pages of her newest book. I am not only a fan of her work, but I am also constantly impressed by her gift for turning out wildly creative, sexy and humorous stories so consistently and with such regularity. Son of a Beard is the third book in this series, and while it can be read as a standalone, the first two books were just as fabulous as this book, and you’d be doing yourself a disservice by skipping them.
Son of a Beard drew me in right from the start with an emotional one-two punch of anger and heartbreak. An action-packed, suspenseful romance with a splash of drama, Truth and Verity’s story was as entertaining as it was exciting. They’d both been through so much, it was virtually impossible not to root for this couple. Their initial meeting was perfect and exactly how you’d want it to play out given the circumstances. But following a wild weekend getaway, they learn—months later—that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay there.
This couple’s attraction was instantaneous, and their chemistry undeniable, a charge of electricity sparking between them. Lust wasn’t all they had right from the start, though, their back and forth banter was natural, organic and one of things I loved most about their relationship. Truth had been through a lot in his life, and trust and love were not things that came easily or were given freely by him. But when this big, gruff biker allowed his walls to fall, he loved deep and hard. Verity was one smart woman. She knew that Truth was it for her, and despite his repeated attempts to push her away, she just pushed her way back to him harder, showing him that they were meant to be together. I loved that push-and-pull, that will-they-or-won’t-they between them. Theirs wasn’t an easy road to travel, but it all came together to make their eventual arrival there sweeter.
In addition to a hard-fought romance, this story had an intriguing suspense plot along with some added drama courtesy of both of their exes. But Vale is no stranger to a complex plot line, and she forged Son of a Beard into a richly developed, well plotted, engaging story that kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time. I love this author’s unique sense of humor, and it was used liberally in this book. Vale is brilliantly adept at finding and capitalizing on the levity in almost any situation. She has this innate ability to turn an ordinary, everyday moment into something extraordinary with either her comical take on it, an outrageous slapstick type response or even just some of her naturally dry, slightly sarcastic commentary. Make no mistake, though, Truth and Verity had a lot of emotional baggage to overcome, some danger to diffuse and exes to deal with on the way to their happily ever after, but it was one heck of an exhilarating, smoking hot and amusing ride.
The Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series is one of my favorite series of hers, so it’s not surprising that I’m loving the spin-off Dixie Wardens Rejects series. I loved Truth and Verity’s story so much. It’s classic Vale, through and through, but just a bit sharper and edgier. A wonderful addition to a fantastic series, Son of a Beard by Lani Lynn Vale gets five smooches from me!

Lost Rider by Harper Sloan Review
4 Smooches
Synopsis
In Lost Rider, the first Western romance in New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Harper Sloan’s Coming Home series, an injured rodeo star encounters an old flame but will she be just what he needs to get back in the saddle?
Maverick Austin Davis is forced to return home after a ten-year career as a rodeo star. After one too many head injuries, he’s off the circuit and in the horse farming business, something he’s never taken much of a shine to, but now that it’s his late father’s legacy, familial duty calls. How will Maverick find his way after the only dream he ever had for himself is over?
Enter Leighton Elizabeth James, an ugly duckling turned beauty from Maverick’s childhood—his younger sister’s best friend, to be exact, and someone whose heart he stomped all over when she confessed her crush to him ten years back. Now Leighton is back in Maverick’s life, no longer the insecure, love-stricken teen—and Maverick can’t help but take notice. Sparks fly between them, but will Leighton be able to open her heart to the one man who broke it all those years ago?
Written in the vein of Diana Palmer and Lindsay McKenna, this Texas-set series is filled with sizzle, heart, and plenty of cowboys!
Review
I have loved Harper Sloan’s books since she first release Axel, they immediately struck a cord with me and I just found it easy to get lost in her world. Over the years she has ventured out from Romantic Suspense in many directions and the newest genre she has added to her repertoire is Western. She drew me in from the first touch of Maverick’s southern drawl and did a fabulous job of setting the scene of the book. I loved the Texas and rodeo vibe and the characters all felt very authentic to that.
“It’s hard to forget the pain of the past when the memories still shine bright.”
Maverick and Leighton are the kind of couple that make you fall for second chance romances. In the past it wasn’t the right time or circumstances and now, ten years later, with no contact and hurt feelings Maverick has to work hard to get the one woman who never really left him. Lost Rider starts off with a bang and some full on drama and angst but if you enjoy an easy read no fear, it doesn’t take a long time for the dust to settle and the angst overall is pretty light. I read some early reviews that said there was no angst in the book and while I didn’t find that to be the case in my opinion I will say compared to say, The Corps Security series, it was light.
“I feel like I’ve been branded. I hope I’ve been branded, because there will never be another man for me, not now . . . not ever.”
I do want to mention that I read an early copy so for me personally I found several errors and one small plot inconsistency. It wasn’t enough to turn me off from the book but since I am not sure if they were corrected by the final copy I thought it would be worth mentioning. Overall, this was a sweet, second chance southern romance that made me swoon with a heavy does of sexy as hell too. Definitely worth a read.

9 out of 10 doctors recommend Dr. OB…No. You know what? F*ck it. TEN OUT OF TEN doctors, including Dr. Will Cummings himself, recommend this book to just about everyone and their mothers.
Unless said someone and their mothers dislike a little dirty mouthed fun, some creative swearing, laughing so hard they lose bladder control, and awkwardly adorable meet-cutes between two unforgettable characters.
But honestly, if you and your mother don’t like that stuff, you probably shouldn’t read any of our books.

The Hot Shot by Kristen Callihan Review
5 Smooches!
Synopsis
First we were friends. Then we were roommates. Now I want more…
What can I say about Chess Copper? The woman is capable of bringing me to my knees. I know this about five minutes after getting naked for her.
No one is more surprised than me. The prickly photographer my team hired to shoot our annual charity calendar isn’t my usual type. She’s defense to my offense, a challenge at every turn. But when I’m with her, all the regrets and darkness goes away. She makes life fun.
I want to know Chess, be close to her. Which is a bad idea.
Chess is looking for a relationship. I’ve never given a woman more than one night. But when fate leaves Chess without a home, I step up and offer her mine. We’re roommates now. Friends without benefits. But it’s getting harder to keep our hands off each other. And the longer we live together the more I realize she’s becoming my everything.
Trick is… Now that I’ve made her believe I’m a bad bet, how do I convince her to give this player a true shot at forever?
REVIEW
GAH. Just Gah. Sometimes I read a book and I get all swoony and melty and I don’t want it to end and that was one of these books.
So let’s dig in! I want to talk about Chess first because she has to be one of the most likable heroines I’ve ever read, which surprised me because when I first met her she didn’t come across as soft and womanly. She was kind of gothic and hard with tattoos. She was a tough girl. Sometimes when I read a woman like that in a book they come off too manly and that bothers me, but with Chess it was different. She was all hard shell on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside and it made me sympathize with her inability to convey emotions at times and it also made me love her ability to be vulnerable when did give us these moments. I just adored her.
And gosh darn, Finn. Here’s the thing with him. He’s not a playboy or a bad boy per se, he’s just married to the sport of football and never really connected with a woman on the level of intimacy that he does with Chess. And God, when he does it felt like reading a book on a rainy day underneath a blanket, all cozy and warm and sweet. Because it transformed him. He all of a sudden became a hopeless romantic for only Chess, and man it was so freaking good.
Their story has lots of little dramas that play out to make a big story. One that is so crazily well written. I just cannot get over this authors writing. Usually when a writer gives me a story in first person, it feels choppy, but not Kristen Callihan. No, her writing is like warm butter–smooth. I loved this one. It’s a great addition to the other books in this series of standalones. I cannot wait to see what’s next from this author.
