Synopsis

From the New York Times Bestselling author of MISTER O and BIG ROCK, comes a hot & hilarious new standalone romantic comedy…

I’ve been told I have quite a gift.

Hey, I don’t just mean in my pants. I’ve got a big brain too, and a huge heart of gold. And I like to use all my gifts to the fullest, the package included. Life is smooth sailing….

Until I find myself stuck between a rock and a sexy roommate, which makes for one very hard…place.

Because scoring an apartment in this city is harder than finding true love. So even if I have to shack up with my buddy’s smoking hot and incredibly amazing little sister, a man’s got to do what a man’s got to do.

I can resist Josie. I’m disciplined, I’m focused, and I keep my hands to myself, even in the mere five-hundred square feet we share. Until the one night she insists on sliding under the covers with me. It’ll help her sleep after what happened that day, she says.

Spoiler—neither one of us sleeps.

Did I mention she’s also one of my best friends? That she’s brilliant, beautiful and a total firecracker? Guess that makes her the full package too.

What’s a man stuck in a hard place to do?

REVIEW

“My God. This woman. This amazing woman.”

A lump in my throat and tears–of utter happiness–in my eyes, I’ve just finished this book, and my god, this book! If the friends-to-lovers thing is your thing, then Full Package is necessary, required, essential reading. Truly, this is not one to be missed. I’m pretty sure that I haven’t hidden, like at all, my fandom for Lauren Blakely. I’ve been like Pacman chomping on those little dots with the way I’ve been devouring her work this year. I’ve loved every single book, each one, unbelievably, more than the last.

“This feels like something else entirely. Something I haven’t felt in a long time.”

But this book, this fabulous book, struck such a personal chord with me. It did something that generally doesn’t happen to me when I read romcoms—it moved me, it touched me, and it made me so very happy. You see, there are some parallels in this story to my life, and in the day-to-day living of it, I’d forgotten. But boy, let me tell you, while reading this book was I ever reminded of that long ago sweet time. That’s one of the things that reading is all about to me. It’s either to serve as an escape or, as in this case, a reminder.

“…something is happening. Something wild, and crazy, and undoubtedly incredibly foolish. But right now, it feels… like sailing, like flying, like soaring.”

Blakely has put out several male point-of-view romcoms within the last year, Full Package being the fifth. If you haven’t experienced the sheer talent of Lauren Blakely in one of her male POV books, what are you waiting for?! The woman is a genius when it comes to getting into these guys’ minds and conveying what’s going through them as they fall in love. She delivers these stories in such an authentic, realistic and unique voice, and it is unlike anything that I have ever read in any other book or by any other author. These books are magnificent, honest-to-goodness romcom magic. Honestly, I have no idea how she does it and, frankly, I’m not going to ask. I’m just going to enjoy the fact that she can do it, that she does it well and that she does it often.

“…it’s euphoric, it’s electric, the rush I get from smelling her, from moving against her, from kissing her.”

Being inside of Chase’s head as he worked through his thoughts, feelings and emotions about Josie was a delight. I had a perma-grin plastered on my face from cover-to-cover. Everything about this relationship’s build-up – from the incredibly ill-advised ‘friends with benefits’ stage to the brief but still slightly angsty and awkward period – made me happy. The friends-to-lovers thing is so totally my thing, especially, as it was in Chase and Josie’s case, when it’s patently obvious to everyone – except, of course, the hero and heroine – that they love each other, that they’re perfect for each other, that they’re meant to be. Chase and Josie were all of those things. Heart-racing, sometimes even aching, I read this book in sweet anticipation of that axis-tilting, world-shifting moment of realization and, oh boy, did Blakely ever give it to me.

“…the chance to be with the one you want—the one who wants you the same d*mn way—is worth the risk.”

This book was absolutely the full package—it was everything that my romance reading, happily-ever-after-seeking heart wanted this book to be. I loved it so very much. Lauren Blakely’s Full Package gets five smooches from me!

Mack Daddy by Penelope Ward Cover Reveal

pwmackdaddybookcover5x8_bw_high-fixedFrom New York Times bestselling author, Penelope Ward, comes a sexy, STANDALONE second-chance romance.

They called him Mack Daddy. No, seriously, his name was Mack. Short for Mackenzie. Thus, the nickname. Perfect, right?

So was he: perfect. The perfect physical male specimen.

At the private school where I taught, Mack Morrison was the only man around in a sea of women.

Everyone wanted a piece of the hot single father of the sweet little boy.

I was riddled with jealousy, because they didn’t know that—to me—he was much more.

They didn’t know about our past.

He’d chosen my school for his son on purpose, because Mack and I, we had unfinished business.

As my friend Lorelai so eloquently put it: “Unfinished business between two people who are clearly attracted to each other is like an eternal case of blue balls.” And I was suffering in pain from my case.

I was still intensely attracted to Mack. I tried to resist him, immersing myself further into a relationship with another man just to protect my heart.

Not to mention, getting involved with a parent was strictly against school rules. But seeing Mack day in and day out was breaking me down.

And soon I might be breaking all the rules.

Author’s note – Told in alternating points of view, Mack Daddy is a full-length standalone novel.

About the Author:
Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.
Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

REVIEW

I’ve had the pleasure of reading a few of Meghan Quinn’s romantic comedies, something she does exceptionally well, over the last year or so. Her sense of humor and her timing are spot on, and her work never fails to get audible snorts of laughter from me when one of her books is queued up on my Kindle and in my hot little hands. Dear Life, though, is not a romcom. Reading the blurb, it was obvious that this was going to be a more serious and emotional book than I was used to from her. I was definitely intrigued by the premise, so in I went, excited about the possibility of discovering a new-to-me side of a favorite author’s talent.

“It’s not easy, you know, to just let something go when there is no closure, when you have it looming over you, eating you alive with every breath you take.”

Four people, stagnant and stymied in their lives by fear and grief, come together—some by choice, some not—to take part in a program designed to help them shake off those shackles and learn to live again. I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this book, but it definitely wasn’t what I got. The program forced these four people to confront their fears and grief head on through letters written to life, and gave them tools, or assignments, to help guide them in doing that. Those letters were my favorite part of this book—they were raw, angry, harsh and so very real. But it was their evolution, as evidenced by their letters, over the course of the program that really captured my attention and what I found most inspiring.

“It’s time to take what’s been broken and make it right.”

Grief is a tricky thing. Everyone at some point in their lives experiences it, and it affects every single one of us very differently. There are also many reasons why a person may be grieving—and not all of them are related to the aftermath of death. Some people are more adept at taking in emotion, processing it, allowing themselves to heal and then moving on. Some of us are not. Those people get caught up in it, overwhelmed by it and then can’t seem to find their way out of it. In Dear Life, Quinn, through the stories of these four people and their letters, takes the reader not only on a deep examination of a few of those reasons but also along for the ride as each one travels their own personal road to the other side.

“…we were meant to find each other. Help each other.”

Each one of the main characters had a different reason for being there, a different set of circumstances, different responses and reactions, and I found each one of their stories fascinating and riveting. This book was laid out thoughtfully, with each chapter broken into four sections to highlight each of the main characters as their part of the journey is told in their own point of view. I really liked how she did that, it created a certain kind of flow and really helped to wind the stories together. I found it nearly impossible not to devour this book as I read it to get to the next part of each character’s story. I had keep reminding myself to slow down and take it all in.

“It’s never too late to learn how to live…”

I’ve always been a fan of Meghan Quinn’s writing, but this book was fresh and different and inspirational, not to mention that it was so beautifully written. Of course, there are a few moments where Quinn’s legendary levity can be found—I honestly can’t imagine her comedic voice not eventually seeping out onto the pages of whatever it is her talented mind is creating—but it’s definitely not a main component or the primary mode of story delivery in this book. Dear Life showcases Quinn’s serious and emotional side, and if you thought she shone only as a rising written romcom star, then just wait until you read this book. I’m really trying to avoid pigeonholing her here, but it’s those authors who I’ve come to anticipate one thing from and then they totally blow me away with something altogether different that I have most respect for. She absolutely did that for me here. Meghan Quinn and Dear Life get five smooches from me!

I leaned down, my mouth close to her ear. My voice came on a rough murmur. “Do you want me?”

Her
I wanted to have a pity party of one when I went for that beer. I never imagined I would meet a dark and dangerous man. That man took me on the wildest ride of my life. Literally and Figuratively. He quickly became my entire world.

Him

I didn’t know I was looking for her. I saw her warming that bar stool and knew she would be mine. A man like me doesn’t deserve the likes of her. But damned if I didn’t take it.

Her

When we met for the first time we didn’t know that we already had a connection. A cruel game was being played, and we didn’t know the rules. Sam would save us, but at what cost? Sam was one of my main reasons for living. If he wasn’t in this world anymore, would I still want to be a part of it?

Her
Snark. Jokes. Attitude.
These were all things I used to disguise the hole in my heart. I’m not a happy person. I don’t live life. I just exist. That is until that beautiful man rides in on his Harley Fat Boy and burns rubber on the way into my heart.

Him
My life’s been no hayride either. Everyone I’ve ever loved in life has died or betrayed me. So I stay back and watch. Unless you’re one of my brothers, you get nothing from me. I don’t participate. I ride. I eat. I sleep. I work. And I repeat. That is until Ember stomps into my life with her bad attitude. She’s all piss and vinegar, and makes me want to share my bike seat for the first time.

Together
They fight like cats and dogs. Don’t see eye to eye on a single thing. They rant, rave, and yell.
They bring out the best in each other. They heal each other’s hearts and souls. They find what they were missing, even the things they never even knew they had.

Everything is perfect. If you didn’t count a gang, one of the biggest in the South, gunning for Ember. That, or the pure evilness that is Gabe’s ex-girlfriend. Gabe will have to put his life on the line to save the one woman he loves, but will it be enough?

One thing is constant in life. It’s about the journey, not about the destination.

Her
I wanted him, but couldn’t find the courage to have him. You know that feeling, the one where you’re too scared to go to sleep, too scared to go out, and too scared to do anything? Ever since my assault, I’ve been functioning, but not living. That was until I met that motorcycle riding man with such a deep gravelly voice that it sent shivers down my spine. He helped me through some of the darkest moments of my life.
Him
She was a cock tease pure and simple. Or so I thought. What I believed to be a game on her part, turned out to be a bone deep fear of everyday life. We helped each other cope, and slowly our friendship turned into something more.
Them
Circumstances broke the two of us apart just as we decided we wanted to be together. A vengeful woman sets out to ruin Max and anything he holds dear in his life. Payton has gone through so much in her life that enduring one more thing just might break her. Only Max taught Payton a few things. Never hold back. Never hesitate. Do something stupid, and always learn from your mistakes. Together, they can overcome anything.
Her
She’s the definition of lost. Doesn’t know her name? Check. Cruelly beaten within an inch of her life? Check. No memory of anything that’s happened since she woke up from that beating? Check. Losing a child she doesn’t remember conceiving? Check. She hasn’t felt anything but lost in a very long time. Then an old biker tells her danger is on the horizon. He sends her to a man that she instantly feels a connection with. A bone deep connection.

Him
He’s the definition of despair. After the death of his young wife while on a tour of duty in Afghanistan, he hasn’t seen the appeal of participating in the world around him. He’s lost the only thing he ever loved. He’s been a shell of the man he once was. His only escape from reality is feeling the wind in his hair, going as fast as he can get his old Harley to take him. That’s the only time he can push his demons back far enough to feel peace. That is until she screams his name.

Him
James had plans for his life. Those plans were derailed by the surprise arrival of his daughter. His life revolved around her. Then she arrived with her beautiful brown hair that was made to wrap around his wrist, and a butt that was to die for in a tight pair of jeans. Nevertheless, he didn’t need any more drama in his life. His ex-girlfriend was stirring enough of that up for ten women. Yet, there was something about her that soothed his soul.
Her
Shiloh’s made it her life’s mission to protect the innocent children she can from the big, bad, scary things that lurk in the darkness. She has an inane curiosity for life and craves knowledge. Which is why when she starts poking around in her father’s business, she inadvertently starts something in to motion that threatens her very existence. Her father, the one man that was always supposed to be there for her, drops her off with a brother she never knew she had and leaves. Making her question the father she obviously never really knew at all. Then she meets him, and she doesn’t think her life’s so bad after all. The sexy biker turned SWAT officer sets her nerve cells to igniting, and she relishes in every single second of it.
Him
He knew life could change in an instant. One soul crushing instant.
When he’s presented with the aspect of losing Shiloh before he’s ever even had her, he decides it’s time to grab life by the handlebars and ride it like he stole it. Then that threat not only touches his woman, but his daughter. And there’s no power on God’s green earth that can protect them from a father’s wrath.
Her
Blaine didn’t understand the true meaning of lonely until she spent her first Christmas away from her husband. She was never one to believe in love at first sight. Then she met Elliott while he was on leave from the Army. From that moment on, they loved fiercely, and never wasted a day. She knew that deployment was a very real possibility… one that scared her to death.

Him
When the orders are handed down, he has to go, leaving his new wife at home while he risks his life half a world away. Elliott did his best. He loved Blaine with his whole heart, but he had a responsibility to his team and to his country. Regrettably, that meant being away from Blaine Christmas after Christmas, year after year.
Her
Blaine made the best of her situation, and did what any good military wife should do, even if it tore her to pieces to do it. She stood by her man. Years go by, but one thing holds true. They’re meant to be. Blaine and Elliott have a love like no other, and time and distance will never change that.

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 5, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.

This isn’t fair. Logan Brantley is even sexier when he’s not dressed in camo and carrying a big gun. More than one head swings in his direction. Women flip their hair and uncross and re-cross their legs as he steps up to the hostess stand.

A shaft of possessiveness lights up inside me, right along with nervous energy and my pounding heart. Back off, bitches. He’s not here for you.

I hear the low rumble of his deep drawl when he speaks to the hostess. She gestures in my direction, and he turns. Piercing blue eyes find me at the table where a lone water glass sits in front of me.

Liquid courage should definitely have been on the menu. Why didn’t I order a drink?

Because I’m an idiot. Because I thought I could handle this.

Now my heart is hammering so loud, my voice will probably be inaudible, or even worse—quaver when I speak.

Logan walks toward me with long, sure strides. He’s taller than I realized. And broader. And bigger. Everywhere. He’s wearing a black Henley that stretches across his chest, leaving no doubt of the fact that the man is built. And his jeans. Jesus. They’re worn and snug in all the right places.

The picture I found was clearly not recent, and it’s not just the fact that his brown hair is longer and shaggier. He’s one of those men who age well.

Logan stops in front of me when he reaches the tall bar table. He says nothing as his gaze drops to the toes of my boots and drags up every inch of my body.

“You’re a hard woman to find.”

I’m a mechanic from Kentucky. She’s a New York City party girl.
We were never supposed to meet, but one text started something neither of us saw coming.
How do you seduce the woman who already has everything?
Show her what it’s like to be with a real good man.

REVIEW

Banner is living in New York, and on the outside her life looks like just one massive carefree party, but is a party life always what it is cracked up to be? Or would it start to wear you down and become superficial?

Logan life is slightly different- working hard to re-build his reputation in his small town, isn’t an easy thing but will be worth while. When an accidental text exchange connects these two, things for both of them will begin to drastically change. But will fantasy live up to reality?

“You have to meet him. I mean, you can’t miss this chance.” “I can’t! I’m going to screw everything up, and then—” I cut myself off before I can admit that it’s going to suck so much major donkey d*** if I lose him in my life. Even in this short period of time, I’ve gotten attached to whatever we have.”

Megan March really does bring romance to life and manages to capture us with characters full of complexities and depth and who are relatable and loveable, alongside a modern romance plot that made me swoon, sigh, and held my heart it in its grips- I really loved reading Banner and Logan’s story!

“Something about Banner Regent f***** me up in a big way. I’ve tried everything I can think of to stop thinking about her . . .”

Banner was a beautiful inside and out and also very complex. Living a seemingly ‘perfect’ life but deep down knowing it was more superficial and didn’t delve any deeper than surface level. I loved her honesty, strength, determination and the fact she wasn’t going to roll over for anyone and could give it back to Logan just as good as he could give it. Logan was a hot male lead; charming and sexy, as well as honest and kind- it was so easy to fall for him.

“I never have to wonder what the hell she’s thinking, or if she’s got a hidden agenda, because she’s got no filter and has no problem telling me exactly how things are.”

A brilliant, captivating romance for the modern ages- it kept me hooked right up until the end, leaving me desperate for the second book in this duet series. Banner and Logan’s love story draws you right in and have you cheering for them to have their happily ever after. It isn’t always a smooth ride, but love never is and I can’t wait for the next book to see where Logan and Banner end!
