Rock Chick Reawakening by Kristen Ashley Release Day Launch with Excerpt

From New York Times Bestselling author Kristen Ashley, comes ROCK CHICK REAWAKENING, the long awaited story of Daisy and Marcus, brought to you by 1,001 Dark Nights! Be sure you grab your copy today!

EXCERPT:
Her face was stunning. Wide smile. White teeth and a good deal of them. Big eyes. Elegant nose. Soft cheekbones. All of this she highlighted with the expert use of makeup from what was clearly a gift of superior genes into something that shone like a Hollywood starlet.
A starlet of a stripper who looked a good deal like Dolly Parton, who also likely got home the night before, earliest, three in the morning, and was right then, only hours later, back on the stage helping another girl by teaching her some moves.
“Marcus, brother,” Smithie’s voice came at him. “You got a problem with the way I do business, and I give you reason to have that problem, then we have a talk. I don’t give you that reason, we don’t have conversations like this one. That’s our deal.”
Marcus listened to him while he watched Daisy talking to the other girl and then she ran across the stage, doing it gracefully in platform sandals, her stone-washed jeans tight on her ass and hips and all the way down her legs. Still, after she ran the four steps, she launched herself high, grabbing on to the pole at least three feet higher than she was, her body swinging around by just her hands.
When the swing ended, she climbed up the pole, hand over hand. Doing this quickly, taking herself up another four feet, she flipped her bottom half over, wrapping her skinny legs around the pole. She dropped back, her hair flowing down, and with her only hold on the pole being her legs, she arched her back and slid down slowly, somehow circling the pole as she did it.
She ended this doing a layout with her hands on the floor, her legs in slow and controlled movements coming over her head one after the other. Her hands pushing off, she was up.
Standing straight with perfect posture.

A Message from Kristen:
Dear Reader,
I’m beside myself with glee that this prequel to my Rock Chick series has been unleashed! There was some time when I never thought I’d write it. When I couldn’t be in that terrible place with Daisy. But I’m oh-so glad that she called to me, demanding her story be told so she could give it to me and now I can give it to you! I loved every moment spent with Daisy and Marcus. And I hope you do too!
~Kristen Ashley

About Kristen Ashley:
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn’t taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen’s Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.
Nothing’s changed.
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she’s blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).
Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.
And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.

Synopsis:
The tattoo artist with a heart of gold.
The playboy with his own hidden scars.
The international rockstar who longs for a home.
The mechanic with a dark past.
These are the heroes of Second Circle Tattoos. Trent, Cujo, Dred, Reid. And now all four books are together for the first time in a fabulous, low priced eBook box set featuring an exclusive epilogue. Why pick one book boyfriend when you can have all four?
The Strongest Steel
Harper Connelly never expected to find herself outside of a tattoo parlor at one in the morning. The scars that decorate her back are just one more reminder of things she’d rather forget, the past she wants to leave far behind her, but before she can move on, she needs him. Trent Andrews has his own reasons for specializing in inking over scars. And there’s no way in hell he’s going to turn Harper away. Being with Harper is like going ten rounds in the ring—exhilarating, powerful, and dangerous. She stirs feelings in him he thought were long gone… if he can only get past her carefully constructed defenses.
The Fractured Heart
Tattoo artist Brody “Cujo” Matthews knows how to keep things simple. In life and in love. That all changes when he meets Drea Caron, the definition of high maintenance and sizzling curves. And the one woman he doesn’t want to walk away from. Andrea “Drea” Caron is broke and tired. After years of caring for her ailing mom, she’s at the end of her rope trying to manage the piling medical bills, two jobs, and a life placed on hold. She certainly doesn’t need the added frustration of a sexy playboy tattoo artist messing up her carefully balanced life. Too bad the universe has other ideas.
The Purest Hook
Rugged, hot, and rock hard, Dred Zander is exactly the type of man that normally sends Pixie running. Not dreaming about running her hands down his washboard abs…and lower. The lead singer and guitarist for the band Preload embodies trouble behind his quick smile and guarded eyes, and Pixie left trouble behind her years ago along with the name Sarah Jane Travers and the pathetic trailer her mom called home. But Dred has other ideas. Pixie’s sweet hazel eyes, purple hair and kaleidoscopic tattoo of exotic flowers that swirl up her arm haunt his dreams, and he’s ready to fight like hell to keep that feeling.
The Darkest Link
When her car breaks down off the side of a lonely highway far from her sunny Miami home, tattoo artist Lia never expected her very own white knight to ride up on the back of a barely street-legal motorcycle…and she never expected to fall for her dark savior. A bruised heart Lia is not looking for forever, and the hot mechanic, with his sexy scruff and shaggy hair, is simply impossible to resist. He’s the perfect candidate for a mind-blowingly-perfect, no-strings-attached one-night stand. But when their fling becomes something more and Reid surprises her at her tattoo studio, Second Circle Tattoos, he’s in for a shock—and a fist to the face—when his past and present collide.

Exclusive excerpt:
“So, I don’t want you to get mad, Shortcake, but I have a surprise for you,” Cujo said. Nervously, he ran his hand through his blond hair as the opulent elevator of the Bellagio hotel in Las Vegas took him and his unsuspecting soon-to-be fiancée up to their room. He studied Drea’s hazel eyes. Eyes that lit up when she smiled, that became red and blotchy when she cried, and went wide when she came apart in his arms like she had in bed that morning. Right now they looked at him suspiciously.
“More of a surprise than this morning when you woke me and told me I had an hour to pack and get ready?” She grinned at him and flicked her long-layered hair over her shoulder. “A surprise I am very grateful for. It’s a nice break before I go back for my second year of school.” Confidently, Drea stepped toward him, lifted up onto her toes, and brushed her lips against his in a kiss which had him second guessing the surprise waiting for them in their room. He should have ensured it would be empty so he could throw her down on the bed, claim one more state on his places-I-fucked-Drea map. But that was going to have to wait, because first he had to get down on one knee and ask the one question he’d been so certain she’d say yes to when he’d put all of the plans in place. Now he was less than ten minutes away from doing the deed, he wasn’t feeling quite so confident. He loved her with every fucking cell in his body and was certain she felt the same way. So why was asking her to confirm that with a ring so nerve-wracking?
He’d inked her name on his body. Hell, all the tattoos on his left arm were dedicated to her. So why should putting ink on a piece of paper, a marriage certificate, feel so much more important?

Room-mate Romance Review by Maggie Riley
4 Smooches!
Synopsis
Falling in love is not on Allison Lawson’s to do list. As a professional stage manager, she’s got a plan for everything – and she doesn’t like surprises. So when she shows up at the apartment she’s subletting, the last thing she’s expecting is a roommate. Especially a tall, hunky one.
Shane Garrett is back in Brooklyn. After his parents died five years ago, he moved upstate to take care of his younger sister. But now she’s off at college, and he’s ready to return to the bachelor life he used to have: living on his own, a fridge full of beer, and a new girl every night. But that didn’t include a surprise appearance of a sexy brunette in his shower. He hadn’t even taken her out to dinner yet.
Now Allie and Shane are sharing a one bedroom apartment – and bedroom eyes. Neither can deny the sparks that are flying between the two of them, but a relationship is not on Allie’s agenda. Can Shane convince Allie that you can’t plan for love?
REVIEW
Allie Lawson is a planner and an obsessive list maker- which should mean things shouldn’t go wrong, but that’s isn’t always the way. When her unconventional meeting with Shane occurs in the flat she is subletting, it doesn’t matter that she isn’t looking for a roommate, she has one. It also doesn’t matter that lusting after her new roommate or even falling in love with him, isn’t on one of her lists…some things you can’t plan for and Shane is determined to prove to her that some things not on lists, are the best things that can happen!
“Everything had started out going exactly to plan. Because that’s what I did. I planned. I was Allie Lawson, wrangler of schedules and queen of to-do lists.”
This was a fun, quirky, romance which was the perfect read for a rainy afternoon and kept me thoroughly entertained all the way through!
“Everything would work out perfectly. Because the universe and I had come to an understanding. If I had a list, I was in control. Things would be fine. Except they weren’t fine. Despite my lists and my planning, the last twenty-four hours had been a complete and utter disaster.”
I loved that these two were so opposite in their personalities and that when they came together the chemistry was just explosive. Allie was a planner, she couldn’t let things happen by chance, everything had to be thought through and nothing taken by chance. She was definitely a quirky character and I could actually really relate to her because I am also a huge planner and when she was with Shane she allowed herself to let her hair down a little bit and allow some things to happen by chance- although it took an awful lot of convincing by Shane.
“What the hell was I thinking? Problem was, I knew exactly what I was thinking. I was thinking that I wanted Shane.”
Shane was a very easy character to love. He was fun, kind, caring and just really happy. The way he looked after his younger sister was so swoon worthy and how much he wanted Allie to take a chance with him and realise some of the best things happen by chance was just so lovely!
“It was my own fault that I fell for her, but that didn’t mean I was going to open myself up to the possibility of more pain. It was better if all this ended now.”
We had a lot of light hearted humour and feel good moments throughout. This really was just about two people coming together and watching their relationship grow and change into something special. We had some angst, what with Allie’s commitment issues but we also had Shane’s determination and passion which was so easy to read about.
“This is my list of reasons why I would be a really, really great roommate.”
Overall this was a lovely, easy read that had just enough of everything you want in a romance to keep you entertained and put a smile on your face. You get what you want with a romance- two likeable and relatable characters, coming together and falling in love during a not always smooth ride! Great read for a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Everything For Her by Alexa Riley Blog Tour with Excerpt
I’ll never forget the way she looked, so confident and sure of herself. I watched her from a distance. She wasn’t ready for me yet. I didn’t approach her and I didn’t disturb her, but I never once took my eyes off her.
Mallory Sullivan is ready to start her new life. After graduating at the top of her class, she’s landed one of the most coveted internships in the United States. Hard work and determination have gotten her to this moment of living the life she only dreamed of while growing up in foster care.
From the start, I knew that she would be my greatest achievement, so the day I let her go, I set down a path for her. A path to me.
She never expected Oz to be the greatest culmination of those dreams. But sometimes fate determines who you fall in love with. Who makes you lose control. Who owns your soul.
And then you realize it wasn’t fate at all…
I’ve wanted to care for and protect her since the first moment I saw her. I’ve constructed everything in our lives so that at the perfect moment, I could have her, could give her the life she deserves.
The time has come.
Check out our 4.5 smooches review HERE.
Miles
I’ve watched her since the beginning.
It’s funny, but I don’t really remember much before her. It’s as if I could split my life into two halves. Before her and after. I remember my life with my parents, and I remember getting into college, but it’s all gray before her. Until the day I saw her, there was no color. But once my eyes landed on her for the first time, it was like when Dorothy landed in Oz and she opened the door. The world went Technicolor, and she was my very own Glinda the Good Witch.
I was twenty-two years old the first time I saw her. She was seventeen and competing in a state-level high school math competition.
Yale University asked me to represent them as a student judge, and I nearly declined. The state of Connecticut is small but houses one of the greatest Ivy League colleges in the country. One that makes becoming a standout almost impossible. I was among the top one percent in my class as a senior at Yale, with a major in statistics.
The only reason I’d accepted the invitation was to play a part. Many expected me to follow in the footsteps of my father, and I wanted them to believe that, but my end goal was a little different than anyone knew. I was on the path of revenge, but playing a part would help me on that path. Rubbing shoulders with the same men my father did, even if it left a bitter taste in my mouth.
Agreeing to judge the competition was life-changing. The bitter taste in my mouth altered that day. A sweetness took over. I wanted it. Needed it.
I’ll never forget the way she looked, so confident and sure of herself. I watched her from a distance, like you would a lioness in the wild. I didn’t approach her and I didn’t disturb her, but I never once took my eyes off her.
I found out later she was being sponsored by her high school so that she could attend the competition. She had no family and was being raised in a group foster home, so her school funded the trip. She was smart, and they wanted to see her succeed, which she did.
I saw so much in her as she competed. She knew all the answers and was absolutely sure each time. She trusted her instincts, and they didn’t let her down. There was so much potential in her just waiting to be unleashed. I wanted to sit down and have her tell me everything, anything, as long as she talked to me.
She swept the competition and won first place in her division. I was strangely proud of her.
When she walked out of the hotel ballroom after the competition was over, I let her go. It was the hardest thing I’d ever had to do. But I knew that if I went after her too soon, or too fast, she would run. Not only was she too young for me, but something about her told me she was the kind of woman who came along once in ten thousand lifetimes.
This wasn’t to be rushed. It was to be savored.
I may hate my father, but I’ve learned from his mistakes. I’m going to use those mistakes for my own advantage. He’s smart but sloppy at the same time and it’s been showing. But I know if you want something, you work hard for it, plan out all the details to make it yours.
From the beginning, I knew that she would be my greatest achievement, so the day I let her go, I set down a path for her.
A path to me.
No one knows it’s been me behind the curtain, pulling the strings. I’ve constructed everything in our lives so that at the perfect moment, I could have her.
The time has come.

Review
I’m just going to come right out and say it, I’m a huge fan of over-the-top, ridiculously obsessed alpha males who fall instantly in love with their <preferably virgin> heroines. Yep, I’m owning it: I love smut. The fact of the matter is that I’m not alone. This segment of the romance genre is growing dramatically, with previously discriminating romance readers devouring these quick and steamy novellas voraciously. I’d even go so far as to say that if you took a peak at the Kindle of any romance fan, you’re bound to find a few of these smutty little gems there. Chief among the authors churning out that smut is Alexa Riley, and let me tell you, they do it really, really well. I’ve read—and enjoyed—quite of few of the books written by this bloggers-turned-authors creative duo. I won’t even pretend that I’m not a fan. Here’s the thing about these types of stories, they’re wholly implausible, completely unrealistic and don’t resemble anything even close to real life. And that’s ok. When I pick up one of these stories, it’s to turn off reality and immerse myself in something very, very unreal. This, folks, is escapism reading.
One of the hallmarks of these steamy stories are that they’re generally novella length reads. Another is that they are chock full of steamy sex. So page or word count constraints coupled with half of the book taking place in a bedroom (or a shower, up against a wall, the sofa… well, you get the idea), there isn’t a lot of time, space or opportunity to fully develop a well plotted storyline. So, I’m going to lay even more honesty on you here and say that I was wondering if they could pull it off. I mean a full length novel about an obsessed billionaire and the virgin of his dreams? Well, I’m thrilled, seriously pleased as punch, to say that Alexa Riley totally pulled it off!
For their first venture into a full-length novel, the ladies gave their readers everything that we have come to expect from them, and more. The constraints of space and time removed, they were free to expand on the characters, to dig deeper into their stories, to lay a solid foundation, and they did it well. They didn’t scrimp on the details at all in this book, and Everything for Her was way more of a plot-driven story than we’ve ever seen from them before. There was a suspenseful component to the story that hooked me in and held my interest throughout the book. I loved Mallory and Miles, and just when I thought one of their heroes couldn’t possibly be more consumed with the heroine than the last one they wrote about was, they roll out with Miles Osbourne. With one glance, at the wrong time and in the wrong place, Miles knew that he wanted Mallory to be his and he set about doing everything he could to make that happen. This dude was lightyears beyond any other hero that has ever come from the minds of these two, and while Mallory needed time to adjust to it, I lapped it right up. This book was very steamy, as is to be expected from Alexa Riley, but it wasn’t the only thing here. There was a story, there was suspense, there were other characters, whose stories I am very much looking forward to by the way, and there was romance with the love story. It wasn’t all about the brief chase and quick claiming, there was more wooing and relationship building, and I found that I really liked it from them.
Everything for Her was a great entrance into full-length storytelling for Alexa Riley, and I’m looking forward to more of them, along with their signature smutty novellas, from them. Alexa Riley’s Everything for Her gets 4.5 smooches from me!
