Keepsake by Sarina Bowen Review
5 Smooches
Synopsis
There’s a first time for everything.
Lark Wainwright used to be fearless. Her life was a series of adventures, each one more exhilarating than the last. But her recent overseas adventure was one too many. Now she’s home and in one piece. Mostly. But her nights are filled with terror.
When her best friend offers her a stay at the orchard in exchange for help at the farmers’ markets, Lark jumps at the chance to spend fall in Vermont. But her nightmares don’t stop. Desperate to keep her fragile state a secret, she relies on the most soft-spoken resident of the Shipley Farm to soothe her when her dreams prove too much.
Zachariah is a survivor, too. It’s been four years since he was tossed aside by the polygamist cult where he grew up. He’s found a peaceful existence on the Shipley’s farm, picking apples and fixing machinery. But getting thrown away by your own people at nineteen leaves a mark on a guy. He doesn’t always know what to make of a world where movie quotes are the primary means of communication. Before hitchhiking to Vermont, he’d never watched TV or spoken on the phone.
Actually, there are a lot of things he’s never done.
Zach and Lark slowly grow to trust one another. One night they become even closer than they’d planned. But Lark may still be too broken to trust anyone. When she pushes Zach away, he will have to prove to himself that he’s good for much more than farm labor.
Review
‘She looked vivid, as if God had painted her features with bolder paints than he used on the rest of the world.’
Ya’ll!!! This story blew me away. Having read the other two books in the series I was already aware that I enjoyed Sarina’s writing style and her stories but this book took that love to a whole new level. There is a stark contrast to the lifestyles, personalities and demeanors of Lark and Zach; but there is also somethings eerily similar in the hardships they each must overcome. They understand and comfort one another and together they make something truly beautiful.
‘Maybe I spent the first twenty-three years of my life without touching anyone, but Lark had changed me. I craved the contact.’
Fans of the series will be happy to have the entire Shipley clan back together for another apple picking season and joining them in the orchards this time is May’s best friend, Lark. Lark has always been outgoing and carefree but after a work trip to Guatemala goes horribly wrong she is left damaged and broken. Now her dreams are tormented by memories of what she witnessed and the only way out of them seems to be Zach’s comforting touch and smooth voice. This man she barely knows but is insanely drawn too feels so right but their timing is so wrong. Zach is insanely sweet and a touch innocent. Despite all he has never done in life, having grown up in and being kicked out of an polygamist cult, he is all man if you know what I mean. Zach is why romance authors write book. PERFECTION. I loved every moment with him and in the end the worst part was that my time with him was over.
‘I hadn’t known that holding her in my arms was a privilege I’d soon have to give up.’
Keepsake is a standalone novel but I do encourage you to give all the couples in the True North series a go. They are each uniquely wonderful but Lark and Zach are it for me. I went from swooning, to laughing, to heart-aching with tears streaming down my face emotional and I loved each new moment I got with this book and this entire cast of characters.

Two love-matches made.
One to go.
Even though two of his best friends have settled down, Wes Lancaster is determined not to get sucked into some siren’s web. As owner of the professional football team the New York Mavericks and wildly successful BAD restaurant, his lifestyle is full as it is.
Well, it was, until Winnie Winslow, the new, sexy, stiletto-wearing Team Physician trash-talks him in the locker room without batting an eye.
Now he can’t stop himself from wanting her.
The only girl in her parents’ brood of five, she’s as outspoken as she is beautiful and the kind of woman who holds her own—and then some.
Always competitive at heart, if he’s going all in for love…
Wes sure as hell wants a Win-Win.
Prepare to get a little dirty because this one might go into overtime.
Game. On.

Max and Monroe, under penalty of fictional perjury, swear that actually changing the rhythm of your heartbeat was not their intention, but rather, a side effect of swoony characters and an overzealous dedication to tears. No, no. The Dedication of the book is actually to tears.

“Leave it,” I whispered as her phone rang from her tiny purse that lay discarded on the floor, groaning and pushing her deeper into the wall before sucking the peak of her nipple into my mouth.
We were in the trenches of my favorite two-person activity, and I had absolutely no desire to add a third—especially knowing whoever was on the other end of her phone wasn’t a model for Victoria’s Secret.
Relax. I’m mostly joking.
I’d been working diligently at the removal of each and every piece of her clothing for the last five or so minutes, but we were so desperate to keep our mouths on one another, the process had been slow going and she’d yet to have the chance to reciprocate.
I couldn’t help it, though, and I didn’t mind that I still wore my clothes. Her skin was like a flavor, one I swore had been specifically designed for me by Baskin Robbins, and her nipples were like the cherries on top. Deep red from my attention and perfectly delicious.
But the bleating of her phone threatened to pop my flawless pleasure bubble.
And I was in no way ready to stop.

Review
‘Not only do I not stay away; I can’t. She’s everything I don’t want.’
Scoring The Billionaire is the last full length standalone novel in duo Max Monroe’s Billionaire Bad Boys series and they pulled out all the stops to bring the series to an AMAZING end (well not complete end as there is a novella coming but you get what I am saying.) With each book and set of characters I honestly believe they are my favorites and no one can top them and then the next book comes out and I am in love all over again.
‘Winnie Winslow was on a date. With a man who was distinctly, noticeably, heartbreakingly . . .not me.’
Wes is confident that the one thing he does not want in life is to get involved with a single mother. He is too busy and too selfish to involve a child in any relationship. So when he finds that is attracted to his team’s physician Winnie like he has never been attracted to a woman before he fights it with a force. She is a single mom whose main focus will always be her little girl Lex. But Wes cannot stay away and soon he finds himself attracted to both Winnie and Lex and he knows that he is not what is right for them but can he stay away?
‘I felt like I was outside of myself, watching from a bubble that very well might burst. But I didn’t care. For now, I was floating in a dream, and I had no immediate plans to wake up.’
Wes is easy to love but that being said he made me so mad. I was upset and angry at him but that was only because I was so invested in him and Winnie and their story. But never fear. It all comes together beautifully. This book was superb. Wes was sexy and sweet and Winnie was strong and fun and together their dynamic was intense and full of amazing sexual chemistry. But the true star of this story is Lex, Winnie’s daughter. Insanely brilliant and unique I loved every scene with her and hope we see more from her and her too hot for their own good uncles, each of who give off their own sexy alpha vibe.
‘Fuck Wes Lancaster. Fuck him for treating me like a piece of trash. Fuck him for worming his way into mine and my daughter’s hearts and then changing his goddamn mind.’
Funny, sexy, dramatic and sweet. I knew Scoring The Billionaire would be a hit from the first page and Max Monroe did not let me down.

Badd Motherf*cker by Jasinda Wilder Release Blitz

Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, right? That’s what they say, at least. I went into that day hoping I’d get the happiest day of my life. What I got? The worst. I mean, you really can’t get any worse of a day without someone actually dying.
So…I may have gotten just a little drunk, and maybe just a tad impetuous…
And landed myself in a dive bar somewhere in Alaska, alone, still in my wedding dress, half-wasted and heart-broken.
***
Eight brothers, one bar.
Sounds like the beginning to a bad joke, yeah?
I kinda think so.
Wanna hear another joke? A girl walks into a bar, soaking wet and wearing a wedding dress.
I knew I shouldn’t have touched her. She was hammered, for one thing, and heartbroken for another. I’ve chased enough tail to know better. That kinda thing only leads to clinginess, and a clingy female is the last thing on this earth I need.
I got a bar needs running, and only me to run it—at least until my seven wayward brothers decide to show their asses up…
Then this chick walks in, fine as hell, wearing a soaked wedding dress that leaves little enough to the imagination—and I’ve got a hell of an imagination.
I knew I shouldn’t have touched her. Not so much as a finger, not even innocently.
But I did.

Dragons Need Love Too by Lani Lynn Vale Review
5 Smooches
Synopsis
Nikolai Vassago has a plan.
His day starts out fairly normal. Get up, kick some ass, fondle his beard, take some names.
One second he’s participating in a normal every day mission, and the next he’s saving the one woman that fate has promised him for the rest of his life from the grips of a criminal mastermind.
Nikolai can’t say he’s altogether displeased with what he’s given, though. Not with that gorgeous brunette that would soon be warming his bed.
The same can’t be said for Brooklyn.
Living in a commune most of her life meant she wasn’t exposed to all of life’s craziness. The moment she turned eighteen, she was off and running, experiencing all of what life had to give.
That means she sometimes jumps in feet first, not thinking about consequences until the deed is already done.
Nikolai rescues her from a fate worse than hell, throwing her on the back of his dragon and flying off into the night.
He’s a go-with-the-flow kind of man. Brooklyn, however, is not.
Having been caged for the first eighteen years of her life, she wants nothing more than to be free to do what she pleases, consequences be damned.
Nikolai, however, has different ideas, and he’s not above using his masculine will to prove to her that she’s exactly where she needs to be.
Review
I’m not big on PNR, it’s just not my thing. It pains me to admit this, but I went into the first book of this series, I Like Big Dragons and I Cannot Lie, hesitantly. I’m such a huge fan of Lani Lynn Vale’s that I just didn’t even want to entertain the possibility that I could be disappointed by one of her books. Well, a lesson was learned over here, folks, because not only did I love that book, but I’d include that book (and this one) on my list of top favorite books by Lani Lynn Vale. So, needless to say, I was way more excited to start this book, and let me tell you, I was not let down.
Lani’s really taken some chances with her writing this year, she’s introduced three new series to her fans, and each one of them is vastly different than what we’ve seen from her in the past. This series, though, is something special. The fantasy-based world that she has built in modern day Dallas is fascinating. Once I got this book in my hands and began to read her words, they played like a movie in my head. I vividly envisioned all of these dragons, I was right there in the cool as heck compound, and I was riveted in place devouring the story.
Dragons Need Love, Too picks right up where I Need Big Dragons and I Cannot Lie leaves off. There is a little bit of concurrent action going on, and it definitely made the entire reading experience richer. This book was just as exciting, just as interesting, just as well developed as the first book. The story was gripping and thrilling and sexy. Nikolai and Brooklyn were magic together. I loved them! Of course, no Vale novel would be complete without her unique brand of humor, and there is a healthy dose of it here, too.
I’m always excited for a new Lani Lynn Vale novel, and as a grateful fan, she feeds that excitement with a regular supply of new material. But this series is just so different. It’s a breath of fresh air, and it draws the reader in right from the start. I can’t recommend this book and this new series from Ms. Vale highly enough. Without hesitation, I can say that it’s is a must-read for all of Lani’s fans, whether they love PNR or not. This non-PNR fan absolutely loved Dragons Need Love, Too, and it’s getting 5 smooches from me.
