Synopsis

These Royals will ruin you…

From mortal enemies to unexpected allies, two teenagers try to protect everything that matters most.

Ella Harper has met every challenge that life has thrown her way. She’s tough, resilient, and willing to do whatever it takes to defend the people she loves, but the challenge of a long-lost father and a boyfriend whose life is on the line might be too much for even Ella to overcome.

Reed Royal has a quick temper and even faster fists. But his tendency to meet every obstacle with violence has finally caught up with him. If he wants to save himself and the girl he loves, he’ll need to rise above his tortured past and tarnished reputation.

No one believes Ella can survive the Royals. Everyone is sure Reed will destroy them all.
They may be right.

With everything and everyone conspiring to keep them apart, Ella and Reed must find a way to beat the law, save their families, and unravel all the secrets in their Twisted Palace.

Review

Twisted Palace brings to us the conclusion of Reed and Ella’s story. Royal Palace was one of my absolute favorite books of 2015 so I have been eager to see how this tale would end. I did enjoy this book but honestly I find that the trilogy on a whole was too drawn out for my taste. There were just too many extra details and what felt like filler. In my opinion this could have been one or maybe two books, But that being said the story as a whole is exciting and surprising and the last 15% of this book in particular had me on the edge of my seat.

Reed and Ella are still in high school so this fully in my opinion falls into the mature YA category so I expected (as I did with the first two books) for there to be a lot of juvenile problems (i.e. sneaking out, mean girls, out casted, daddy issues, etc) and I personally don’t mind these and in a lot of ways I really enjoy these storylines. I find them an escape from my life as a 34 year old stay at home mom. But mix all of those problems in with a murder mystery and you just have drama overload. It felt convoluted and overdone at times. I think I would have been more into the mystery or more into the YA drama if one was played up more than the other but they both seem to be driving forces that were competing for my attention.

Now let’s talk about what I loved in this book. The Royals. The clan as a whole is a win for me. They are fiercely loyal and protective. Sexy, funny and mysterious. I gulp up every droplet of information I get about each of them in hopes of retaining it for future stories. Val and Wade. That is a story that needs telling. The ending. I will admit I did not see that coming. The writing, there is no denying that these are two extremely talented writers who craft some amazing and complex stories and this was no different. It was clear it was all well though out and planned perfectly. And lastly, and this might surprise you, Jordan. I love me a villain and she was just the perfect high school mean girl. She reminds me a lot of Nan from Abbi Glines’ Rosemary Beach series and like Nan she really drives a lot of the drama in the book.

“You. Us. Forever.”

So my overall thoughts are:

Did I love the story as a whole? – Yes

Did I find it too drawn out for three books? – Yes

Is there a too much juvenile drama? – Yes and No (see review)

Will I read more Royals? – Absolutely Yes

Is Easton mine? – Yes and don’t argue this fact.

He’s hot. Like, stop breathing kind of hot with his killer body, vivid blue eyes, and constant five o’clock shadow.
Did I mention his body?
Watching Hollis Knightly, Olympic diving gold medalist, man-pony specialist—and cocky bastard—stand up on the diving platform in nothing but a small piece of Spandex? Yeah, I’m beguiled.
And easily seduced.
I want to keep things light but he won’t leave me alone. And hell, if he’s not wearing me thin.
What is supposed to be a simple summer fling with a very hot man, has now morphed into a f*cked-up mess of feelings, attachment, and dare I say it…love. But I don’t do relationships. And Hollis Knightly does.

NOW AVAILABLE!

STROKED by Meghan Quinn
Released: July 19, 2016
Cover Designer: Murphy Rae

BLURB:
Reese King: Olympic medalist, underwear model, Greek god.

His body is chiseled from rock, sculpted by the weight room, and refined by water.

On a daily basis his skin is completely bare for everyone to see, tan and defined, only covered up by a minuscule piece of spandex. There is no denying his sex appeal.

I hate to admit it, but I’m head over heels infatuated with him.

There is one HUGE problem though. His achingly gorgeous abs, inked up arm, and cocky swagger belong to my boss, the high-profile, reality star bitch from hell and certified heinous human being, Bellini Chambers.

What I think is going to be an easy job assisting a glorified wench turns into a cluster f*ck of epic proportions.

STROKED LONG by Meghan Quinn
Scheduled to release: September 20, 2016

Sports Romance
Cover Designed by: Indie Solutions by Murphy Rae

BLURB:
From his dirty-blond hair and breathtaking smile, to the abs from heaven and the irresistible V in his waistline, everything about Bodi Olympic-gold-medalist Banks screams hot piece of @$$.
Yet there’s more.
Dark shadows lurk behind his soulful, serious eyes.
I’m enamored. He’s captured me.
How can running an art foundation with Bodi Banks turns into a slow-burning, epic romance, even though he tries to push me away at every chance? How can I stay away from a broken, routine-driven man whose soul cries to be forgiven for a crime only he believes he committed? Or is that a lie?

**STROKED LONG can be read as a stand alone.

About the Author:

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.
Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

EXCERPT
The far off sound of voices floated
into the room and Eden sprang up, shoving me away with surprising force. Once
she was standing, she looked down at herself in horror, just then realizing I’d
ruined her shirt and there was no way to fix it.
“Isaac! What the fuck? I can’t
leave here like this. Not unless you want the world to get a nice look at my
goods!”
I growled and yanked her body up
against mine. “First of all, you’re going to get yourself a spanking if you
don’t watch your mouth, and second”—I leaned down until my face was only
centimeters from hers—“no one sees
what’s mine.”
Her eyes narrowed as she glowered
at me. “What exactly am I supposed to do? And put that thing away!” she
snapped. My dick was clearly appreciative of the look and feel of her naked
tits pressed against my chest. Despite the mind-blowing orgasm I’d just had, he
was up and ready for another round.
The voices drew closer so I stepped
back, tucked myself back in, and snatched up my suit coat. I held it open for
her to slip her arms inside and it engulfed her. She looked so damn cute.
“That’s a good look on you, Eden.”
Jax’s laughing voice came from the doorway and we both spun to face him. Eden’s
face was bright red and she shrank down into the coat like a turtle trying to
hide in its shell.
“I—um—spilled something on my
shirt,” she stammered. Jax’s grin grew to epic proportions and I quickly pushed
her behind me and scowled.
“What the fuck do you want,
jackass?” I snarled.
“I just came to see if you wanted
to grab some lunch,” he explained, leaning casually against the doorjamb. His
eyes glittering with mischief, he gestured to something behind me. “Looks like
you’ve already eaten.”
Eden shrieked, and I glanced back to see her
scrambling to her discarded underwear. She snatched them up and shoved them in
her pocket before turning blue death-rays on me.

rs-fb-author-ad-1

She’s even lovelier than I remembered, than I dreamed. Delicate midnight tendrils frame a face that belongs in a museum—with stunning dark sapphire eyes that should be commemorated in vibrant oils and soft watercolors. If Helen launched a thousand ships, this girl could raise a thousand hard-ons.

She’s prettily made, the top of her head coming only to my chin, but fantastically curvy. Great full tits that strain the buttons of a wrinkled white blouse, shapely hips in a black skirt tapering to a tiny waist I could wrap my hands around and toned legs encased in sheer black tights finish off the whole package very nicely.

An unfamiliar anxiousness fizzes like soda in my gut.

“The door was open,” I explain.

“It’s broken.”

Logan flicks at the lock. Security is his life, so a broken lock would annoy him like a puzzle with the final piece missing.

“What do you want?”

She has no idea who I am. It’s in the defensive way she holds herself and the accusatory note in her voice. Some women try to pretend they don’t recognize me, but I can always tell. Her ignorance is rather…thrilling. There are no expectations, no hidden agendas, no reasons to pretend—what she sees is what she gets. And all she sees is me.

My throat is suddenly a barren wasteland. I swallow, but it’s difficult.

“Well, he’s desperate for some pie.” I hook my thumb at Simon. “And I…wanted to apologize for the other evening. I don’t normally act that way. I was on a bit of bender…”

“In my experience, people don’t do things when they’re drunk that they wouldn’t do normally.”

“No, you’re right. I would’ve thought all those things, but I never would’ve said them out loud.” I move closer, slowly. “And if I’d been sober…my opening bid would’ve been much higher.”

“She crosses her arms. “Are you trying to be cute?”

“No. I don’t have to try…it just sort of happens.”

REVIEW

GOD, I think Emma Chases books just keep getting better and better and I really love reading her Male POVS!  They are always the very best.  Her men are always, funny, cocky but in the endearing way, somehow a bit alpha while still being sweet, and sexy as hell.  And hearing their inner thoughts just makes me loves them all the more.  She probably writes my most favorite men!  And Nicholas is right up there!

“My dignity isn’t for sale.”

“I don’t want to put my cock anywhere near your dignity, love.  I just want to put it everywhere else.”

While this story is probably one that we have all read in some form before, I still loved it and that is mostly because I loved these characters so much.  Olivia and Nicholas were just everything.  Their banter and even their sweet moments completely stole my heart.  The brother, the body guards, the Queen.  Everyone was so damn much fun!  Especially Nicholas,  I just loved him!

‘If Helen lounged a thousand ships, this girl could raise a thousand hard-ons.’

This book set up future books perfectly too because I am positively dying for the next in this series.  Fabulous cover, witty sweet characters, and so much steam.  Emma Chase delivers again!

NASSIR

She harrumphed and slid off the desk so she was towering over me in those killer heels. I was glad she was back in her right skin.

    “Business only?”

I nodded solemnly and ran a tired hand over my face. It was a deal with the devil, but we both knew she was going to make it anyway.

“Very lucrative and profitable business only, and if for some reason the cops shut me down, I’ll return your investment plus fifty percent of my own.”

“How much did you sink into this place? And how much do you expect me to buy in for?”

I shrugged. “I spent enough to make it what I wanted and you can pay in the same Race did. Two hundred K. I’m the primary backer, so my word is law, but if you see something now working or a way I missed to bring more money in, we can have a discussion.” Race had actually put in double that amount, but I wasn’t about to tell her that, and no one had ever accused me of being honest.

She whistled. “That’s a lot of money.”

“You have it.” She would hate to know that I knew exactly what her bank balance was. It paid to have a computer hacker on the payroll. There wasn’t much about her I didn’t know, both inside and out.

“I do have it. I just don’t know if I want to give it to you.” It sounded like she was taking about a lot more than money.

“We open this weekend, so you don’t have much time to decide.”

“I feel like I never had a choice. The second you showed up in Denver, this was all bound to happen because you always get your way.”

I shook my head slightly. “Not always.” We both knew that.

Her eyes sparked with charcoal flecks and she took a step closer so that she could bend down and put her hands on the arms of my chair. She leaned closer and closer until her mouth was hovering a mere millimeter away from mine. When she spoke, the words danced across my lips and tasted like victory and fate.

“No, not always.” Her lips pressed into mine and I had to curl my hands around the arms of the chair to keep from grabbing at her.

She teased the clamped seam of my lips with her tongue and lightly scraped her teeth across my bottom lip. I wanted to toss her backward on the desk and bury myself inside her with no finesse, just pure, animalistic lust. She brushed her lips back and forth and laughed lightly as I bit down on my already injured tongue to keep from reacting. If I mauled her now, it would undo any progress I might have made with her.

She pulled back and reached out to run her finger over each of the high arches of my eyebrows. It was the softest, gentlest touch I had ever felt from another human being and it made my focus on her pulse even more heavily in my veins.

“Fine. I’m in. I’ll write you a check.”

Review

‘There had been good men and bad men in my past. There had been men I wanted to stay longer than they did  and ones I couldn’t get rid of fast enough, but in the background there was always Nassir . . . always.’

Honor by Jay Crownover was surprising in the best way possible. It was simultaneously nothing and everything I expected from Nassir’s book. Easily read as a standalone but even better if you have been reading The Point series. Tis was one of Jay’s best works yet, it is obvious she spent a lot of time developing the “bad guy” that is Nassir Gates so that we the reader can see him as both a hero and a villain. He is complex and beautiful and he made this book perfect.

‘She was my endgame. She was what had given my life meaning, and now she was breathing that very essence back into me and it felt perfect.’

There was distinct beauty in Nassir’s undying and devoted love for Keeyln. From the moment he walks into a strip club years ago and sees her on stage as “Honor” he knows his life is changed. He doesn’t miraculously become a better person or make all the right choices but he does know that she is all he wants in a partner for life. Something up until then he never even really considered. But from that moment he knew she would be worth the weight. Not that waiting was easy or done celibate but he did wait. Keelyn, like Nassir, comes from a troubled past and is determined to be in control of herself and not let a man take over. So she pushes him away from the beginning and then when things got bad in the Point she ran. But never fear because Nassir followed. GAH I just loved that man. He was a monster when needed in business but with her he was kind and sweet and everything you want in a partner. Not to mention the fact that he might just be one of the sexiest men alive with a dirty dirty mouth.

‘I claimed him. I understood him. I earned him. I loved him.’

Honor captivated my day. It was dark at times but Nassir’s love for Key gave so much light to the story that the balance was just perfect. Anyone following along with The Point series know that everything in the Point is in a grey area. Nothing it cut and dry or black and white. Nassir and Keelyn’s relationship is just like that. I adored this story and Nassir Gates might just be giving my main man Race a run for his money.

Review

Destined By Blood is an addicting look as to how the entire Bitten storyline began and as a reader who has read and loved each of the stories in the series I was engrossed with this first look into where it all started. However if you are new to the series this is also a great place to start and can be read easily as a standalone as well.

“The goddess created you for me and me for you. Whatever you feel for me, I feel you as well.”

Aveta and Alaunus’s story is equal parts sweet, sext and a touch of tragic. She is a window who has been out casted and he is of royal blood and promised to another. Their love is undeniable but with so many forces against them it is almost impossible to make anything work. Mix in a bit of magic and mayhem and you have a story that hooks you right from the start.

“I love you, Aveta. As long as I have you, I have no regrets.”

I love C.C. Wood’s paranormal books. They are complex and fun at the same time. Wars are fought, love is found and everyone’s fate is in the air. The whole series is one I would recommend to any paranormal lover.
