Slip Of The Tongue by Jessica Hawkins Blog Tour

Sadie Hunt isn’t perfect—but her husband is. Nathan Hunt has her coffee waiting every morning. He holds her hand until the last second. He worships the Manhattan sidewalk she walks on. Until one day, he just…stops. And Sadie finds herself in the last place she ever expected to be. Lonely in her marriage.
When rugged and sexy Finn Cohen moves into the apartment across the hall, he and Sadie share an immediate spark. Finn reveals dreams for a different life. Sadie wants to save her marriage. Their secrets should keep them apart, not ignite a blistering affair. But while Sadie’s marriage runs colder by the day, she and Finn burn hotter.
Her husband doesn’t want her anymore. The man next door would give up everything to have her.

In his dimly-lit kitchen, Finn lays a comforting hand on my shoulder. “I have to tell you something.”
My hairline prickles. I can sense whatever he says will be heavy, and I’m not sure I want to hear it. I force a crooked smile that probably looks as awkward as I feel. Since I just fed Ginger, I joke, “What? I smell like dog food?”
“I want to kiss you,” he says without missing a beat. “I won’t, but I just thought you should know.”
My stomach drops as if I’m in free fall. I bite my lip involuntarily, then release it, afraid it’ll look like an invitation. Can he really come out and say that? Without prompting, without wavering? You can want to kiss someone and not say it. Should I be angry he confessed that? I’m not. I’m curious. Stirred, even. And because we’re being honest, I ask what I want to ask. “Why?”
“Why do I want to kiss you? Or why did I tell you?”
My heart rate picks up. I lose my nerve. “The second one. That’s not the kind of thing you just come out and say to a stranger. A married stranger.”
“I like you.” He absentmindedly caresses the nape of my neck with his fingertip. “So I want to be honest.”
I put my hand over his wrist, and he stops. Now, and for the last hour, it’s as if we’re the only two people on the planet. The Bad Wife and the Stranger. If I let him kiss me, nobody would ever know. After all, Nathan might be kissing someone else too. Why else would he have lipstick on his tie? Finn doesn’t wear lipstick. Neither do I. It would be our secret.
“You’re leaving, aren’t you?” he asks.
Am I? I have to. I don’t trust myself to stay, and I don’t trust myself to speak, so I nod. I don’t have to pull his hand away. He takes it back willingly. And he walks me to his door.

The Way Back To ME by Anne Mercier Blog Tour with Excerpt

The Way Back to Me (Back to Me, Book #1)
By Anne Mercier
Released February 23, 2016

Blurb
She used to be perky, fun, and full of life—everything I hated about girls and their bullshit exterior. People called her bubbly; I called her “fake-as-hell.”
The edgy, dark, lonely girl in front of me was not the Olivia Brennan I knew from high school—far from it, actually. I knew the story—the whole town knew the story, we witnessed it all. It happened in the blink of an eye and the girl we knew was gone.
But I refuse to watch it anymore—I can’t stand it. I’m going to fix it—fix her. It’s time I showed Olivia her way back…Back to the girl she used to be.

Excerpt
“She really needs to get up. She’s been in that bed for two weeks, Trish,” my dad says to my mom. They’re right outside my door again. I sigh softly.
“Leave her be, Greg. She’s not ready yet.”
“She’s never going to be ready. No one’s ever ready for what she has to face.”
Mom sniffles and I know she’s crying again. I’m so tired of hearing her cry. There’s no reason for her to cry—not because of me. I lived.
I wish I could cry but I can’t. I haven’t cried since I woke up in the hospital. I didn’t cry from the pain of my fractured and broken bones. I didn’t cry at the funeral when I stared down at the lifeless body of my soulmate—the body lying there was unfamiliar—not at all my Danny. I didn’t cry while I struggled on crutches with a fractured rib over the uneven lawn, past all the weathered gravestones signifying just how final death really is.
I didn’t cry when I lost it at the people—strangers—who didn’t know my friends and my love by more than a passing hello stood there crying and carrying on. They didn’t know their favorite color, their favorite food. They didn’t know Danny chewed spearmint gum. They didn’t know Simon kept us laughing. They didn’t know Cassidy was our support system. They didn’t know Phil wasn’t really as shallow as he led everyone to believe.
They. Just. Didn’t. Know.
They didn’t have a right to cry for people they didn’t know—people who weren’t good enough for them while they were alive.
And me? I just couldn’t cry. I didn’t even cry when my parents took me home and I stared at the corkboard filled with photos of me with my friends, me and the love of my life holding one another and laughing—a life that no longer exists. I stared at it for the hour I waited for the cemetery workers to cover the graves of those I love most. Then I went to them with my tequila.
My eyes are locked on that corkboard now and I can only stare mutely.
I’m numb.
I don’t want to feel. I don’t want to face a future alone, so I stay in bed and sleep. Sleep is the only friend I have left.
Sleep embraces me and holds me tight, blocking out the pain and grief that would otherwise fill my shattered heart. Sleep enfolds me in a cocoon of nothingness, and nothingness is what I crave.

What people are saying about The Way Back to Me:
I’ve read my fair share of books that can make you feel invested and connected with characters, like you know them on a personal level. But what Anne Mercier delivers in The Way Back To Me, is what I can only describe as a deep ache. – Beneath The Covers Blog
This is one of those books that just reach into your chest, grab you by the heart, squeeze, and makes it hard to breathe…but in a good way, if that makes sense. I absolutely could not put this book down. – Amazon Customer
The story is so beautiful and touching, emotional and heart breaking and romantic and sweet all at the same time. It will make you smile, shed a tear and applaud. – Amazon Customer
The best book I’ve read this year! I’m hungover and it was worth every single word! Nothing I can say here will do it justice, do yourself a favor and 1-click it! – Author, Sapphire Knight

Beautiful Boss by Christina Lauren Review
4 Smooches
Synopsis
The ninth work in the New York Times and #1 internationally bestselling series that started with Beautiful Bastard. In this e-novella, Will Sumner and Hanna Bergstrom (from Beautiful Player) find that a wedding and everlasting love were just the beginning.
One Player tamed. One nerd girl satisfied. And one more major life decision to make. When Will fell for Hanna, her quirky sense of humor and fierce dedication to her career were part of the attraction. (Not to mention her coy newbie attitude toward sex and her willingness to let him teach her everything.) But when the job offers start rolling in for her—and oh, they do—Hanna has trouble deciding what she wants, where they should live, and how much she should burden Will with the decision. Magic between the sheets is only one part of a relationship…getting on the same page is quite another altogether.
Review
‘Everything felt too hectic, and the Let’s figure it out after the wedding motto has been an easy way to put off any actual decision making. Here we were, married, in love, and on the verge of changing nearly everything about our day-to-day lives. And we still had no idea how it was all going to look.’
Hannah and Will have to be one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE book couples. Seriously there is just something about her innocence and his sweetness mixed with all that dirty talk that just does things to me. Getting more of them was so exciting and they were once again a delight to read. Diving back into their world felt like coming home and gave me all t he giddy feelings I was hoping would be accomplished.
“I dare you to kiss George.”
Hannah is out of school and now married to the love of her life, Will. So everything should be perfect and easy, but nothing ever is. Adjusting to married life is difficult for anyone and Hannah and Will are no exception. Hannah is on the verge of starting her career and interviewing EVERWHERE, leaving their future all up in the air. Lack of communication mixed with adjusting to married life gives us a good dose of drama in between all the humor and sexy times! Add to that the fact that the whole Beautiful Bastard crew makes appearances I promise if you love this series you will love this book too!
“Hanna, I promise to my best not to motorboat you at the alter.”
Christina Lauren never fails to deliver an entertaining story I can’t put down and Beautiful Boss was no exception. In my opinion Hannah and Will can do no wrong. I love them deeply and hope to see more from them in the future!

– EXCERPT –
Tremaine burst through the door, slamming it shut. He fused the knob and trapped the sound with the same spell. When he turned toward Robert, the rage on his face sent a thrill of fear down Robert’s spine.
“You happy with yourself?”
Robert stood, meeting his glare. “What on earth are you talking about?”
He growled. “You scared the fuck out of Liz by not coming home and sending that cowardly text. Why? Because you’re pissed about my past? I gave you those files thinking you could see the bigger fucking picture. Now you want to accuse me of what? Treason against the Council? Draecyn’s the bastard who sent me on the goddamned case to begin with.”
Robert drew in a slow breath, trying to gather his words. He’d never seen Tremaine this angry before. Generally, he was levelheaded through the worst of times.
“Nothing?” Tremaine spat. When Robert didn’t answer, he snarled, “Really think I could do all that?”
Robert stepped around the desk, anger flickering to life. “You tell me, Tremaine. What am I supposed to think? You handed me stacks of files without warning me what was in there. Of course, I’m going to question every single thing.”
Tremaine shook his head in slow motion, his brown eyes fading to gold, flashing with light. “You question what side I was on, then fucking question me like a man. Don’t hide away from Liz. You didn’t see the look on her face when she asked me if you got tired of her and wanted to give up.”
“I’ll never give up on her.” An array of emotions splintered through Robert as he took a step closer, narrowing his eyes. “Yes, I made one bad decision. I gave her what I thought she wanted nearly twenty-two years ago. Never again.”
“Then why didn’t you come home?” Tremaine demanded.
He growled in frustration. “I was so twisted up trying to make sense of everything I read and couldn’t come home to see you wrapped around her, which I knew you had to be.”
“Do you think I wanted to go so deep into HARP? Think I wanted to do all that shit? Tell me something, Robert, why do you think Draecyn sent me? No one else could get into HARP’s ranks. Draecyn knew I was the only one with any kind of chance of getting intel because he was the only one who knew who my real father was.”
Robert’s heart sank. And they were right back to what he had finally realized a second before Tremaine barged in. “Because you’re half druid?”
Tremaine’s hands trembled a moment before they fisted. He stepped closer until he was an inch from Robert’s face. “Exactly. I didn’t choose the assignment. It was chosen for me. And yeah, they expelled me… technically, but I kept Draecyn in the loop. Did you skip his files?”
“You could have warned me what was really in there.”
“So you could question if I was just saying that to keep you in our bed? No. Thank. You. I gave you every last shred of the files so you could see what happened and draw your own conclusions. Apparently, that was the wrong fucking move.”
Robert’s jaw clenched. “Last night, after reading the final files, my head was swimming with a million details I didn’t understand. This morning they clicked into place, forming the bigger picture. I needed time to process.”
“Next time, man up and call me. Tell me to fucking leave so you can go to Liz and not break her to pieces when she starts wondering if you really love her.”
“Of course, I love her. I’ve always loved her. I didn’t want to fight in front of her when I was so lost in the details I couldn’t see the truth. Now back off.”
Tremaine inched closer, his eyes lasered on Robert’s. “You want to lose Liz?”
Robert shook his head.
“Me? I’d understand that. Is it too much now? If so, it’s too damned late to get rid of me. I’ve always loved Liz, and I love you, but right now you disgust me. I’ve never done a damned thing to make you doubt me like this.”
Robert attempted to shove him away, but Tremaine didn’t move. Frustrated, he hissed, “Had you waited ten more minutes, I would have been past the doubt. I needed time, Trem.” He reached for his phone to call Liz.
Tremaine caught it and threw it across the room. “Fuck that. Stop and talk to me! Tell me what I have to do to convince you I’m not part of HARP?”
“I know you’re not. There’s still a million questions on the tip of my tongue, but I get it.”
“Promise you won’t do that to Liz again,” Tremaine insisted.
“I swear it, and I’m sorry.” He met Tremaine’s golden stare. “Do you hate me now?”
“You know better. I love you. You’re a piece of my soul. I can’t have you thinking I’m that scum.” He closed the distance, looking into Robert’s eyes with deep intensity.
Desire washed through Robert. He gripped the back of Tremaine’s neck and pulled him in for a bruising kiss. Then he hissed into Tremaine’s ear. “I love you too.”
“Prove it,” Tremaine growled, reaching behind Robert to shove everything off the desk. Files fell to the floor, books, journals, everything, even the phone.
Their mouths collided, tongue’s dueling, teeth gnashing. Robert stood, and Tremaine pushed his jacket off, then gripped Robert’s shirt, ripping it open. Buttons flew across the room.

Mr. Popular by Nicole London Review
3.5 Smooches
Synopsis
Rule #1: Do not vote for Mr. Popular.
Rule #2: Do not talk to Mr. Popular.
Rule #3: (Most importantly, and above all) Do not fall for Mr. Popular…
Liam ‘Mr. Popular’ Carter will always be the closest thing to the “walking plague” in my eyes. His cockiness seeps through his every move, and no matter how many state championships he wins with the basketball team, he will forever be a “loss” to me.
Because he’s my older brother’s best friend, I’m forced to tolerate him, and he’s forced to tolerate me. In fact, unless my brother is around, we happily ignore each other every chance we get.
It wasn’t always this way, though…
Several summers ago, we both attended the same summer camp. A place we returned to year after year. We became friends–close friends, but right when I thought he could possibly turn into my everything, he made it clear that what we had was nothing.
Now that’s he’s a senior, and I only have to deal with him for one more year, I’ve vowed to keep repeating the same set of rules to myself. Especially since he seems so hell-bent on wanting to talk to me for some reason, and especially since he seems to be staring at me every time we’re in the same room together…
Rule #4: Always follow rules #1-3…
Rule #5: (OMG what the hell are you doing?) Do not KISS Mr. Popular…
Review
Mr. Popular is the second book by Nicole London and the first one I have read. It is a light and fun read. I love a brother’s best friend romance, it is one of my absolute favorite troupes and I after reading the blurb I was very excited to read Mr. Popular. Once it arrived on my kindle I dropped everything and started reading.
‘If I’m ever granted my wish of personally kicking one person off this planet, that person will definitely be Liam Carter.’
Mariah hates her brother’s best friend, Liam. They have a past and it is one she has a hard time moving on from. But despite all the animosity she has for him he can’t help but push her buttons at every chance he gets. Their back and forth resulted in some fun banter and some of my favorite parts of this story.
I did have a few issues with the book. I will warn you that it is mature YA and it is very much written for high schoolers. So if you don’t enjoy books with the characters ranging in age from eleven to eighteen then this might not be for you. I will also mention that the copy I received (just before release) had some timeline inconsistencies. I cannot say whether or not these were fixed in the published copy. Overall, this was an easy read that I read in a day. Nicole London has a lot of potential and I can’t wait to see what is coming next from her.

Alex by S.M. Shade Review
4.5 Smooches
Synopsis
Ninety- two days. Thirteen weeks. That’s how long it’s been since I lost my love, my best friend. It’s been everything I can do to drag myself out of bed and get back to work, but I know Cooper would want me to move on. I think he’d even be happy if he knew who I want to move on with. The target of my affection, though, may not be so thrilled about my choice.
He’s straight. Or he thinks he is.
A womanizer of the worst kind with a face and body that keeps a steady stream of willing women at his door, he seems happy to work his way through the entire female population. But there’s no mistaking the way he looks at me when he thinks I’m not paying attention.
One way or another, I’ll show him what he really wants.
This is book four of The Striking Back Series, but can also be read as a standalone novel.
Intended for 18 years and older. Contains sexual content, including sex between two men
Review
“I’m going to blame the alcohol for this tomorrow.”
I love this series and highly recommend you read it (it follows MMA fighting brothers who run a shelter for domestic violence victims) but this novel can very easily be read as a standalone if you wish. S.M. Shade has quickly become an author who I can’t wait to read. The moment she puts out a book I need it desperately. I am a HUGE fan of both fighter books and m/m books so this one was just extra good for me!
“I’m not attracted to men!” I shout, my frustration building. “Just you.” Damn it. I didn’t mean to say that.
This book follows the story of Alex who just lost his boyfriend who he cared deeply for. Following the death Alex moved in with his best friend, straight Ian. This was not insta love but a deep friendship that developed into more and that for me made the story so much more dynamic. The joking and back and forth fun between the two characters followed by the struggles they each have to overcome once they open themselves up to the idea that they belong together made for a interesting and fulfilling story! Plus HELLO M/M sexy time! Enough said!
“I’m not gay!” His eyes burn into mine as he shouts, “Well, you suck a lot of cock for a straight man!”
Can I just tell you that is my FAVORITE quote in a m/m romance where one of the characters is straight EVER! I mean EVER!
Alex blew me away and exceeded my expectations. There is just something to be said for someone who can write a story showing that love is love and no matter what you think you want when feelings develop and you follow that instinct you will be better off and happier. No matter if you have been following the series or you picked this up as a m/m standalone I am confident you are going to fall in love with these two characters and their beautiful thought tough at times love story.

PROLOGUE
I was mad at the world, at the whiskey for not being strong enough, at the drugs for not lasting long enough, at the fucking whores I banged for not getting me off when it was my fault my dick was fucking useless after a bucket of fucking blow. I went so far as to be pissed at random people on the street for laughing or smiling when I felt like I’d never be able to smile or laugh again.
How dare they?
How fucking dare they be move on with their lives like my friend hadn’t just died.
I was on the verge of losing what little sanity I had left when I rode out of Logan’s Beach and set off to find a place, or places, where I could numb myself against the feelings that followed me from town to town, cheap motel to cheap motel, girl to girl, high to fucking high.
Then, this pink haired girl from the past came barreling into my life and it was like for the first time, I’d found a purpose. A real genuine purpose and not just some shit Chop spewed out as orders that I and every other member of the Beach Bastards took as bible, but a true reason to live again.
To WANT to live again.
Someone to live for.
Ti was my chance at some sort of real happiness when Lord fucking knows I had no idea what that really was before her. The only glimpses of real genuine happiness I’d ever had came courtesy of Preppy, King, and of course Grace. Like when King tattooed us for the first time and we loved them, even though they were crooked and downright fucking awful. Like when Grace made me my very first birthday cake. Like the time King Prep and I sat at the top of the water tower and thought the world was ours to take.
Because at that time, it was.
Then there was Ti and my new happiness became the first time I saw her smile. The first time I kissed her. The first time I tasted her pussy by the fire. The first time she let me inside of her, shamelessly pushing through her virginity in a frantic need to make her mine.
Because that’s what she was.
That’s what she would always be.
And I will kill every motherfucker who dares to try and take her from me.
Mine.
