Synopsis

Creswell Springs was a small little town in Trinity Count, California. Population 1,500—maybe. It’s a quiet town, with small town values. Its greatest income is the University just outside of the town limits… and the revenue the local Motorcycle Club brings in.

Being part of the MC that was Angel’s Halo was exactly like being part of a family.
A scary, powerful, crazy family.
It was also like its own society. There are rules, just as there are in every family, every society. But only breaking one of their rules will leave you in a broken, blood pile on the floor… No one touches Raven Hannigan.

Raven
I was the MC’s only weakness. Or so my father use to tell me as I was growing up. Mad Max Hannigan was once Angel’s Halos’ president. He made the rules and everyone was expected to follow them or come face to fist with the enforcer…
I have spent my life in the middle of the MC. I knew the rules—the penalties for breaking those rules. So I knew what would happen to him if I let him break the golden rule… But I loved him, like I have never loved anyone or anything before. I thought my love would protect him.
Of course it hadn’t. When our secret was discovered he was beaten.
So I shouldn’t blame him for leaving me…

Bash
As the enforcer I knew the consequences. Knew exactly what was in store for me when Raven’s family found out that I had dared to break my MC’s unforgivable rule. I loved her, so it didn’t matter to me. When her oldest brother delivered my punishment I didn’t scream. Didn’t groan. I took it like the man my MC had made me, and would have done it over and over again if that was what it took to be able to call Raven Hannigan mine.
But then my past reared its ugly head and I had a choice to make. One that I have only lived to regret.
Taking on the job as Angel’s Halos’ new president was my second chance. But… would my secrets destroy everything Raven and I once had?

Review

I’m a huge Terri Anne Browning fan, I’ve read and loved all of her Rockers, and this series overlaps, especially in this book, with that series. When I finished the first book in this series, Angel’s Halo, I began the wait for Flick and Jet’s story. I’ve been eagerly awaiting this book, and I was not disappointed. I should point out, however, that this series is unlike the Rockers series in that these books must be read in order and they cannot be read as standalones. Each one of the books in this series has built upon the foundation laid in the first book, and if you just jump into this series here, you’ll be missing critical details.

“If I thought Jet Hannigan couldn’t ever break my heart any more than he already had, I’d been wrong.”

Felicity “Flick” Bolton grew up in the life; best friend to MC founding family sister, Raven, and daughter to Marcie, a club whore, she’s been a part of the Hannigan family for as long as she can remember. She’s also been in love with oldest brother, and former Angel’s Halo President, Jet, for as long as she can remember. Two years earlier, following a hard break up, Flick learned she was pregnant with Jet’s baby. All was not well within the MC’s world at that time, and Flick was beaten nearly to death by the club’s then-VP, Westcliffe, in a vicious attack that caused her to loose the baby and most likely her ability to ever carry another child. Broken hearted, choosing to run from her pain, Flick accepts a job as a nanny for the Armstrong family – the Nik and Emmie Armstrong family of Demon’s Wings. She leaves Creswell Springs and Angel’s Halo behind without a trace to start fresh.

“…she was the one thing I would have gladly destroyed the world to protect.”

Jet Hannigan, the former Angel’s Halo President, was powerless to stop Flick from leaving her family – and him – behind two years ago when she came to visit him in prison to say goodbye. Two years later, he’s out and he’s served his probation. Having learned of Flick’s whereabouts accidentally, he is now headed straight to her to bring her back home. He is prepared to use whatever means necessary to get his “female” to come home with him, and he absolutely does by emotionally blackmailing her with the threat to go to the press with information that would be damaging to the Armstrong family. Desperate to protect Emmie and Nik, Flick reluctantly but angrily gives in to Jet and goes home with him.

“I was falling again. Falling hard and fast.”

Flick is surprised to learn that Jet didn’t just mean he wanted her back in Creswell Springs. No, the biker wants her back – in his life, in his arms, in his bed. Still in love with him, Flick doesn’t put up too much of a fight, but this time she’s going in expecting it to end, expecting Jet to grow bored, and she’s not risking her heart this time. Jet, however, is kicking himself for what he put the only woman he has ever loved through when he broke up with her two years earlier. He goes after her hoping that he can win her back and that he didn’t kill her love for him.

“I wanted her to be happy, but I’d hoped that she would want to be happy with me.”

Flick is struggling internally with her feelings. She’s happy to be home, she knows she still loves Jet, but she just can’t let herself believe that Jet really loves her, despite his daily declarations. Jet is nearly desperate for her to say the words back, and when she doesn’t, he decides that her happiness is what’s most important, and if he can’t make her happy, he can give it to her by letting her go back to the Armstrongs.

“Will you ride with me, baby?”

There’s a lot going on here; several plot lines are running concurrently and intersect in this book. The talented Terri Anne Browning juggled these plots well, giving her readers what they’ve been asking for in Flick and Jet’s story. As I’ve come to expect from Browning, Angel’s Halo: Reclaimed was well written, fast moving and sexy. I loved it, and I’m looking forward whatever is next in this series! 5 smooches for Terri Anne Browning’s Angel’s Halo: Reclaimed from me!

Things Liars Fake by Sara Ney Cover Reveal

Title: Things Liars Fake (#ThreeLittleLies #3)
Author: Sara Ney
Release Date: Feb 1, 2016
What if…
Someone you barely knew asked you for a favor.
What if…
They needed you to be something you weren’t, in exchange for nothing. Unless you count a mouth full of lies and a half-broken heart. Faker. Pretender. Liar. There are worse things to be called.
So would you do it? Would you?
Daphne Winthrop did.
And you’re about to find out what happens in the end.

I pay, trying to scurry undetected to the condiments, juggling my cardboard snack tray awkwardly as I pluck a few napkins from the metallic holder. One, two… five napkins.
That should be enough, right?
For good measure, I pluck out two more from the holder because sometime my butter hands get out of control. I hate having buttery fingerprints.
Still clutching my ticket stub, I attempt to lift it to see which theater my movie is playing in, but fail miserably and have to set everyth—
“Daphne?”
I freeze.
Look up.
Pivot.
Standing behind me in his navy blue pea coat, Dexter Ryan smiles crookedly down at me.
He smoothes his hands down the front of his dark pressed jeans—or is he wiping sweat off his palms?—and pushes his tortoiseshell eyeglasses up the bridge of his nose.
I take it all in—every inch of him—from the preppy jacket, the glasses, the slight cleft in his chin, up to the black cable knit winter hat when he suddenly removes it. Instead of his hair being flatted by the hat, it’s unruly and a bit tousled. A rich brown, his locks are wavy, shaggy and desperately need a trim.
He finger combs it out of his face.
“It is Daphne, right?” He asks, unsure of himself.
It’s hard to hold back my groan of dismay at being spotted, but I muster up a cheerful, “Yeah. Hi. Dexter?”
He smiles then, his eyes shining behind his dark, tortoiseshell lenses. I mean—I think his eyes are shining. Maybe it’s just the reflection of his glasses?
Those dark eyes dart down to my snacks, the ticket stub grasped between two fingers on my right hand. His brows go up. “Do you need help with anything? Sorry, I’m an idiot; it’s obvious you’re waiting for someone.”
A nervous giggle escapes my lips, only I can’t smack a hand over my mouth to stop it. “Gosh thank you. I don’t need help,” I hurriedly say. “I just have to see which theater I’m in, but I’m having a hard time with…”
All my food.
“It’s just you?” His head cranes around, confused. “I’m sorry, that was rude. Of course it’s not just you. Why would it be?” His deep voice gives a forced, nervous chuckle.
Wow, this is about to get awkward. “Nope, it is just me,” I barely manage to get the words out. “I’m here alone.”
Dexter’s eyes go wide, sending his brows straight into his hairline. His mouth even falls open a little but no sound comes out.
“Great,” I joke, more for my benefit than his. “I’ve rendered you speechless.”
I follow the line of his jacket, down to the hand tightly gripping his winter hat.
“No! Shit, sorry. I didn’t mean… I don’t know what I mean.” Deep breath. “I’m here alone, too.”
Suddenly, his mouth twitches into a goofy grin, and my green eyes fly make a beeline to his lips as they form the words, “Which movie are you here to see?”
Those lips.
Huh?
Instead of formulating a response, I find myself trying not to stare at a perfectly sculpted upper lip and a full mouth surrounded by a days’ worth of five o’clock shadow. Strong jawline. Straight, white teeth. And is that line in his cheek a dimple?
Dexter clears his throat, and I watch transfixed as the chords in his neck flex when he reprises, “Which movie are you here to see?”
Huh?
“Huh?”
Jesus, I have some serious issues. And if Dexter think I’ve gone space cadet on him, he doesn’t let on; his brown eyes are kind. Friendly. Sincere without a trace of egotism. “What movie?”
Oh god. Could this be any more humiliating? The guys asked me the same question three times.
“Uh… StarGate?”
Don’t judge me! Don’t judge me, Dexter! I want to shout. I want to hide behind my massive bucket of popcorn. Yes, it’s true! I am at a nine o’clock screening of StarGate, the twenty-year-old movie turned nerd cult classic of all time.
By myself.
As in: alone.
On a Saturday night.
A pleased grin quirks, his thick brows shoot up for a second time in surprise before he clears his throat. “Me too.”
Dexter briefly glances down at his ticket stub, pushing his glasses back up the bridge of his nose with a forefinger. God, it’s such a sweet gesture I actually cock my head and stare.
Truth be told, I could probably stare at him all night.
It’s been all of three minutes and I find him charming, adorable, and unassumingly handsome. The kind of handsome that sneaks up on you.
He clears his throat again. “It’s, uh, in theater twelve. Let me just…” He reaches around me then to grab a few napkins for himself, though he’s only carrying a medium soda.
No popcorn. No candy. No snacks.
Wait. No snacks?
Who doesn’t get snacks at the movies? Who?
Self-conscious of my gluttony, I back away, wielding my embarrassing armload of junk food, face flaming hot. “I guess I should go find myself a seat. Yeah. I should go do that. The previews have probably already started and those are my favorite part…”
Stop talking Daphne!
Dexter nods and grapples for a few more napkins.
Oh brother; between the two of us, we have enough napkins to last us through Armageddon.

EXCERPT:

Lawrence Thorn

My eyes follow Brou as he leaves the bench and walks away. Sheez. His ass looks great in those jeans. And it looks pretty great not in those jeans too.

I can’t believe I had my hand wrapped around his cock.

I can’t believe he came in my hand.

I can’t believe he stood in front of me naked from the waist down.

I can’t believe he touched me with his fingers between my legs and then sucked them. Fuck. That was hot.

No one has ever made me come so hard in all my life. Brou gives quality orgasms. I can’t wait to have another.

Review

Tap just happens to be my very first Georgia Cates book.  I have heard such wonderful things about the Beauty From Pain books that when I saw this one, I snatched it up.  Finally, a chance to read Ms. Cates.  I have to be honest, I was not blown away but I did enjoy the book.

‘I’m risking my friendship with Stout.  My business relationship.  Maybe even my livelihood.  And I don’t care.  She’s worth the gamble.  I’m going all in.’

I do actually really love a book told from both point of views.  I also really do adore my brother’s best friends types of books.  Books with texting, yes please!  Books that have smoking hot sex, check.  I also was hooked from the simple synopsis. The whole beer theme sounded cool.  So, this book had all of these really cool things that made for a really nice story.  Plus, there was some painful angsty past stuff on Tap’s part that gave me the feels.

So, I gave this book 4 stars.  It was good.  I enjoyed it.  Maybe I had built Georgia Cates up in my mind and that is why I am not giving this book 5 Stars but I still really enjoyed it so I don’t want to put anyone off.  It is still a well written sexy good story.

“Crazy love is the best kind.”

Yes. You. by Tammy Falkner Review

Young casual couple isolated on white

Synopsis

his short story was originally published in the anthology 12 Christmas Romances To Melt Your Heart

This is not a full length novel. It’s a short story that was requested by readers who wanted to know how Reagan’s parents met. It’s about 12,000 words.

You might remember them. They have two children named Reagan and Lincoln. Find out how their love story started in Yes, You.
One bad boy, one good girl.
The question – Who? Me?
Yes. You.

Review

I am a longtime lover of Tammy Falkner and the Reed Brothers series. I always enjoy her short stories that give up glimpses into the side characters we get to meet briefly and want to know more about. Yes. You is about Bob and Madison who are Reagan’s parents in Calmly, Carefully, Completely. From Reagan’s book we knew that Bob was an ex-con and Madison was the good girl who fell for him. Their connection was instant and their love lasting.

‘There’s one thing I do know. This is not a girl you fuck. This is a girl you take home to meet your mother. I wish I had one.’

Bob and Madison could not have come from more different backgrounds and yet it is clear from the moment they meet that they just belong together. While this story is incredibly short it tells a full tale and had me falling hard for bad boy Bob and too sweet Madison. Without going into it too much I will just say that when it comes to these two there is more than meets the eye. This story was sugary sweet and fun to read. Easily read as a standalone but if you are a fan of the Reed Brothers than you definitely don’t want to miss this one! Reagan and Peter’s book (Calmly, Carefully, Completely) is my favorite in the series and hearing more about Reagan’s parents only made me love it even more.

Review

‘I hope to God that Dean quits texting me when I get back. If he doesn’t, there’s a good chance I might orgasm at the table.’

This series from the start has become one of my go to New Adult recommendations to anyone who ask and with each new book the trend continues. The Score is equal parts hilarious, hot and enough angst to keep my heart racing. I couldn’t put it down and desperately needed to see how it all ended.

‘Premise I: Dean Di Laurentis is a phenomenal lay. Premise II: He wants to have sex with me again. Premise III: The idea of having sex with him turns me on. Conclusion: I should have sex with Dean.’

These is something about Dean that just does it for me. To be fair he is a bit of a spoiled douche whose good looks, popularity and money have made life way too easy for him. But he is also loyal and fun and even when my brain would tall me not to like him, my heart could not help but fall.

Allie is fresh out of a long term relationship and with a broken heart she isn’t looking for more. But Dean is impossible to resist and when they share one passionate night everything changes. Dean the king of one night stands wants more but Allie isn’t prepared to give in. But can they be friends with secret benefits and things not get complicated?

“Your dick. It’s the gift that keeps on giving.” “Damn right it is. I told you I’ve got a great cock.”

So much I was not expecting happened in this book and I honestly loved it all. Allie is the kind of heroine that is easy to love and we all admire to be like. She is strong willed and determined to do what’s right even when it is the hard choice. Falling for Dean is easy but loving him is hard. When the world falls around him he he has a hard time figuring it all out and while supporting him she refuses to let him pull her down. I desperately loved her and their story. I laughed and cried and in the end I was ready to read it all again!

Excerpt from THE BALLER

“You ready?” Nick slung his bag over his shoulder and lifted his camera. The reporter in front of us wrapped up his interview and shook hands with Easton.

As I’ll ever be. “Sure.”

I stepped forward and extended my hand. “I’m Delilah Maddox with WMBC Sports News.”

A slow grin spread across Easton’s face. He surprised me by leaning in and kissing me on the cheek. “Pleasure to meet you.”

I wasn’t sure if he was baiting me into an argument—expecting me to lash out at him for kissing me when he’d just shaken the last male reporter’s hand—or if he was trying to use his blatant sexuality to throw me off. Either way, I wasn’t playing his game. I cleared my throat and stood straighter, even though my knees felt a little wobbly.

“Do you mind if I ask you some questions?”

“Why else would you be in here?”

I ignored his sarcasm. He was still smiling at me. Actually, it was more like a smirk, and it made me feel like a toy he was about to play with. “You ready, Nick?” My cameraman finished setting up the lighting, then lifted the camera into position and gave me a hand signal.

“Congratulations on the win today, Brody. How is your knee feeling after your first game back?” I lifted my microphone high, knowing Nick was filming in close.

“I feel . . . ” He nonchalantly reached to the towel wrapped around his waist and tugged at the corner. The towel fell to the ground. “Great. I feel great. And how about you? It’s your first trip into the locker room, isn’t it? Do you like what you see so far?” His lips curled up into a full-blown wicked smile.

Before I could catch myself, my eyes dropped to his naked lower half. Shit. He was dangling in the wind. I totally got distracted by just how low the thing dangled. It was probably a full minute before I responded to his question. A full minute of dead air time. Great. “Yes. Umm . . . the locker room is . . . ummm . . . nice.”

I sounded like a total ditz. On air.

The jackass continued interviewing me. “Is it as big as you thought it would be?”

“Ummm . . . it’s much bigger than I imagined.”

His smile grew even wider.

Ugh.

I needed to get back on track or my first locker room interview would become a laughingstock blooper. Viewers had no idea he was naked from the waist down. “Do you think you were at one hundred percent today?”

His eyebrows jumped. “If you’re referring to today’s game, definitely. I had one hundred percent out there on the field. There’re some other areas where I have a lot of growth potential, but my knee felt one hundred percent today.”

His pale green eyes darkened, and I watched his long lashes lower. I followed his line of sight, and suddenly I was staring at his naked package. Again. Damn it. My eyes darted back up, but I felt my cheeks heating. I had to end this, or I was going to be beet red on air.

“Well, welcome back. And congratulations on today’s win.”

I waited until Nick lowered his camera and turned off the light. Then I looked right at Brody Easton’s smug face. “You’re an asshole, you know that?”

His eyes sparkled. “I do.”

I heard the chuckles and high fives at my back as I stormed out of the locker room.

Blurb

The first time I met Brody Easton was in the men’s locker room.

It was my first interview as a professional sportscaster.

The famed quarterback decided to bare all.

And by all, I don’t mean he told me any of his secrets.

No.  The arrogant ass decided to drop his towel, just as I asked the first question.  On camera.

The Super Bowl MVP quickly adopted a new hobby—screwing with me.

When I pushed back, he shifted from wanting to screw with me, to wanting to screw me.

But I don’t date players.

And it’s not because I’m one of the few women working in the world of professional football.

I’d date an athlete.

It’s the other kind of player I don’t date.

You know the type.  Good looking, strong, cocky, always looking to get laid.

Brody Easton was the ultimate player.

Every woman wanted to be the one to change him.

But the truth was, all he needed was a girl worth changing for.

Turned out, I was that girl.

Simple right?

Let’s face it.  It never is.

There’s a story between once upon a time and happily ever after…

And this one is ours.
