I am seriously in love with this series.  I didn’t think that I could possibly like book two better than I did book one but I do.  Oh God, It is so hilarious and I just freaking love the banter between King and Margo.  Their attraction is so off the charts it is almost enough to rival their verbal sparring.  This blend of love and hate is heady combination.

‘It’s a horrible position to be in when you find your enemy insanely attractive.’

And as you know from the huge cliffy at the end of Naughty King, shit just got real and oh, how the tables have turned because it seems that now Margo may have King by the balls and he simply cannot stand it.

‘I can’t believe I’m married to the fucking Feisty Princess of Manhattan.  How in the hell did I allow this to happen?’

This story just keeps getting better and better with each installment and I am simply hooked.  It is angsty and sexy and all of that is broken up with some really funny bits courtesy of King’s bestie, Yamada!  I just love his character and he is utterly insane but I just cannot get enough of him.  If you are looking for a fun and sexy read, than this one is a must read and I cannot wait to see what happens next as this one ended with a bit of a cliff hanger too!

I’d tried to recall exactly what he’d looked and sounded like earlier that day. But with each passing hour the recollections had become embellished in my mind. I recalled the sun behind his head now as a radiating glow. His voice, deep and stirring, in my memory rolled like thunder, fluttering my tummy while melting my insides. His chest wasn’t just muscular, it was sculpted, and I no longer just remembered the sight of his dark hair and slight facial stubble. Now, my skin tingled at the thought of its touch—so real, as if I’d felt it against the most sensitive of my parts.

When I stepped past the woman and exited the glass doors, my breathing hitched.

I hadn’t embellished, not really. With the orange glow of the setting sun sending prisms dancing off the waves below, the man casually leaning against the rail was everything I’d imagined and more. Despite the ocean breeze, his casual stance, the way one hand lingered in the pocket of his pants while the other held tightly to a tall fluted glass of light colored liquid, filled me with warmth.

I was glad that Chelsea had talked me into wearing a dress and that I’d insisted on wearing panties. As he stood to walk toward me, the light gray suit coat he wore moved effortlessly accentuating his shoulders and forming a V to his trim waist. If I’d thought he was handsome in his swim trunks, he was even better in a silk suit. The white shirt he wore was unbuttoned at the neck and his strong jaw was covered with just a hint of stubble. Whoever this man was, he wore the combination of casual and class with ease.

I remained still as his grin grew and he scanned me from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. Just like earlier at the pool, the gaze of his light blue eyes burned my skin, sending a rush of heat and leaving goose bumps in its wake. I found myself lost in the paleness of his eyes, like pools of liquid, I imagined drowning in their depths, and then, they settled on mine.

“Welcome, Charli, with an I. I’m very glad you accepted my invitation.” Flutters like butterfly wings filled my tummy as I searched the horizon for clouds of an impending storm. There were none. It was him. His voice did roll like the low rumble of thunder.

“Would you like to have a seat?” he asked, reaching for my elbow and leading me toward the table.

I almost jumped at the touch of his warm skin against mine. Electricity like I’d never felt surged through my veins setting off detonations at each synapse. My eyes snapped to his, and for just a moment, I believed he felt the same thing, but just as quickly, his expression found its casual confident demeanor.

“Yes,” I said, trying also to ignore the chemistry that threatened to knock me off my feet. “Thank you. You didn’t need to go to all this work.”

When life gets too difficult, wouldn’t it be a real treat if we could leave it all behind, fly somewhere warm, alter our identity and have a deliciously sinful week full of dirty, rough no-strings sex with the handsome stranger sitting at the bar? That is exactly what happens to intelligent, loyal and beautiful Alexandria. Brought up in a house full of isolation and cold shoulders, judgement and selfishness, Alex has just finished college-an opportunity that afforded her more freedom than she ever had before. As a rule, I’m not a big fan of jumping timelines, the to-ing and fro-ing can either become annoying and repetitive or just plain confusing and in Betrayal we go from the present to the past to the present pretty regularly, however it does work with the storyline.

Our mysterious, handsome and down right naughty hero Nox has a witty mind, dominant personality, filthy mouth and a distinct aura of intrigue about him. The only problem I had with Nox was the fact that he didn’t appear in every chapter, in fact there is so much mystery regarding our hero that he isn’t in this book nearly enough but I believe Betrayal is simply setting us up for big things with the next book.

Alex or ‘Charli’ as she is sometimes known is a rather complex and alluring character. She exudes this innocence and fragility but is in actual fact one of the strongest, sensual and interesting female leads I’ve ever read. At times I got so worked up and angry about what she had to endure at home, her mother and her step-father are two of the most vile, loathsome villains around, one through design and the other from cowardice but in stunning contrast we see how incredible Alex actually is and it’s from her precious time with Nox that she has her own sexual awakening but also a bittersweet taste of what attention and affection feel like.

‘Nox was a walking contrast, a dichotomy of everything I’d known and everything I thought I’d wanted. His unique combination of force and tenderness should be illegal, because with just one taste I was instantly addicted.’

Betrayal is a sterling piece of writing, thoroughly engaging, rather suspenseful and absolutely jam packed full of secrets and emotion and ridiculously hot sex but when it comes to Aleatha Romig, I really wouldn’t expect anything less. Although Betrayal is a great story I definitely think it’s just the starting point for the next book of which I have very high hopes. Betrayal is setting the scene and introducing the players and circumstances and although I enjoyed it I feel like I could have benefited from having a bit more Nox in my life and having Alex stand up to her mother a little more but I’m almost sure there’s more drama and trouble brewing on all fronts. This is a terrific start to what I’m sure is going to be an amazing series.

Wow, this book completely shocked me.  I found this goody on netgalley.  See, I love a book with sexy texts, phone calls, and what not.  From the synopsis, I figured Everything I Left Unsaid would tick all of my boxes, and it did!

“It’s just a phone, I thought, despite its near pulsing heat in my hand.  Its strange alive-ness.  It echoed in me, a foreign nature that was not entirely my own.  Something hot-blooded and impulsive.

EEEP!  I have read nothing else by this author and simply took a chance based on an amazing synopsis and beautiful cover.  And this book BLEW ME AWAY.  I mean, it was written so beautifully.  It was so sexy.  I mean SO SEXY and the two main characters didn’t even actually meet in person until after the middle of the book.  See, Annie is on the run and she ends up in a dumpy trailer park in the middle of nowhere.  A cell phone begins to ring from between the couch cushions of her furnished trailer, and she answers this mysterious cell phone.  Enter sexy as all get out damaged and kinky as hell Dylan!  Swoon!  These two start a dangerous game of heated and sexual phone interactions that will have you literally melting it is so hot!  Whew!

I wanted all of it.  And with equal force I wanted to not want any of it.

To top all of this sexy phone time fun you get a really interesting story line and plot with plenty of mystery and angst.  I was turning the pages non stop trying to figure out who everyone actually was and what the heck was going on.

Who was Ben?  Who was I?  And who the fuck was Dylan?

 The whole story just had me so intrigued and beware because this one is a two parter and I was left with quite a huge cliffy and  more questions yet, still!  So so many questions about Dylan and his past and his relationship with his family.  The list goes on and on.  Despite all of these questions and Dylan’s potential awfulness, he was still just so delicious.

And he was going to smear her with all the filth on his hands.  He was going to get it all over her.  The devil in Dylan Daniels was in charge now.  And the devil couldn’t wait.

Terrifically written and a crazy good story to boot!  This is one of my favorites this year so far.  5 sexy as all get out stars with plenty of mystery!

Excerpt

Cooper grabbed me by the hips and dragged me to the end of the bed where he knelt. I gasped — somehow, I was completely naked, but he was fully clothed, smiling up the line of my body, that crooked smile of his that made my insides turn into mush. My thighs rested against his shoulders, and his eyes were smoldering hot, locked onto mine as he closed his lips over me and sucked. Hard.

“Whoamygod.”

That’s what I tried to say, at least, but I think it sounded more like Humuguh. Not that Cooper needed clarification. His eyes closed, dark lashes against his cheeks, fingers digging into my hips as he licked and sucked, sending tremors up my thighs when he moaned softly against me. My eyes slammed shut, and my chin pointed at the ceiling as my fingers twisted in his dark hair. Within seconds, I was rocking against him with my heart doing its best to escape my ribs and the rest of my body begging him to keep going.

He broke away. I cracked my lids, which weighed about seven pounds each, and glanced down at him. His face was turned toward the closed bedroom door, with alarm written in every angle.

And then I heard the front door close.

Lily.

Cooper looked back at me, blue eyes wide, and we stared at each other for one stunned second before bursting into action. I rolled out of bed with wobbly knees, and he stood, scanning the room for a place to hide.

Here’s the problem: No one knew Cooper and I were hooking up.

Here’s the bigger problem: My brother, West, might actually kill Cooper if he found out.

About the author

Staci has been a lot of things up to this point in her life — a graphic designer, an entrepreneur, a seamstress, a clothing and handbag designer, a waitress. Can’t forget that. “He’s the one bright spot in my life, and he’s so bright that I almost can’t see any of the bad.”

OMFG! This book you guys! Words cannot express my undying love for Cooper Moore. He is now my everything. End of review! He is perfection!

Ok, Ok if you insist I will actually review the book and not just the man but honestly He is amazing! I am a huge sucker for a brother’s best friend book and add to that the scenery of the New York and before I could finish the first chapter I was sold. I have always desired to live in NY and somehow through this series I feel like I am young, ambitious and right there in the middle of it all. Since discovering her work, Staci Hart has become an author I can count on to make me feel, make me laugh and make me desperate for her next release.

‘Cooper was being Cooper. I wasn’t special – he was like this with everyone, I was sure. This was just his normal, even though it was my extraordinary.’

Maggie, Oh Maggie, I loved you, I was mad at you but mostly I felt sad for you. She goes through every woman’s worst nightmare but she came out of it stronger and confident in herself, But her confidence in men and their ability to be faithful has since been shattered.  After discovering her fiance having sex with her maid of honor ON HER WEDDING DAY, Maggie is in no way ready or willing to get into another relationship. But who can turn down one of the sexiest men alive? So she comes up with a set of rules for their friends with benefits relationship that include a deadline for it to all end and the fact that above all else it must remain a secret between them. With her bother being Cooper’s best friend their relationship (or lack of) the tension is high and the drama intense.

‘I didn’t trust myself to make decisions about Cooper. He gave me his heart, and I took it too soon. And now, I was about to drop it. Break it. Shatter it.’

 It would be so easy to yell at Maggie to put her personal baggage aside and forget about Cooper’s man whore past and give in to what we the reader can so clearly see is both an incredible chemistry and a real connection. But honestly that would have neither been true to the character nor make for an exciting story. It is in their struggle to figure out not only who they are as a unit but also who they are becoming as individuals that makes this a captivating and dynamic book. They both go through an epic journey that it almost feels like a voyeur to witness it all and I DEVOURED every moment of it.

‘And when I thought back over the past few weeks, I realized that she wasn’t a spark. She was a wildfire.’

GAH! The things that man says pierce my heart and capture my soul. I so desperately want my own Cooper Moore, and I am a hard critic on the typical reformed playboys. But Cooper transforms himself and once he realizes his heart is captured he is relentless in capturing Maggie’s too. Cooper is a closet nerd and well known Man God that every girl wants to have even if it is just for a night. Staci Hart is an expert in the male POV. She makes you love them, understand them, desire them. I saw him fall in love with Maggie through his eyes and it was utterly beautiful. While her females are strong and relatable, her true talent as an author is the ability to get inside these complex and beautiful men. I find that this is a skill few female writers does as well as Staci.

“Always thinking with your Mini Cooper, aren’t you?” 

He gave me a look that might have blown up my panties. “Oh, I don’t think mini would be the adjective most people would use.”

I wet my lips, scrambling for composure under the heat of his gaze. “No, you’re probably right about that. But Giant Hammerhead Cooper doesn’t quite have a ring to it, does it?”

Mixed in with deep emotion and a story of Cooper and Maggie’s struggle is a quick wit that eases the tension that builds from page one in this secret lovers story. Beautiful writing and heartfelt declarations, Chaser will have you screaming from the rooftops that EVERYONE needs to read this book! It is impossible not to feel for Maggie’s predicament and you will most definitely fall in love with Cooper Moore (and yes you must say his full name cause it is just too sexy, and also DIBS because he is mine!)
