excerpt

Hudson

“Hudson, it’s your night to set the table,” my mom shouts down the hallway to where I’m hiding out in my room, puffing on my one-hitter while watching Pitch Perfect for the umpteenth time. “Lasagna will be ready in ten minutes. It’s just us tonight.”

Groaning, I reluctantly roll off the solid white comforter thrown haphazardly atop my bed until my toes squish into the soft carpet—shag, of course. Then, trudging my way to the kitchen, where my mom and Grams are putting the final touches on dinner, I grab the plates, silverware, and napkins for everyone.

Dinnertime with my family, even when it doesn’t include all of the resort’s guests, is certifiably insane. Even though my older sisters flew the coop, they keep showing up at meal times, claiming they miss us, but I know they’re just here for the free meal. Scavengers.

Thankfully, tonight’s not one of those nights. I’m not in the mood for their twenty questions about how the date with Beckham went, especially when the flavor of Crew’s lips is still fresh on mine. Not to mention, I’m positive my mom or dad will be sure to ask for the most inappropriate details within the first five minutes of us all sitting down. One of the major downfalls of having unconventional, free-spirited parents who preach peace, love, and rock and roll is having the most awkward, cringe-worthy conversations with them.

“Thank you, sweetie.” Mel kisses me on the cheek when I walk by. “When you’re finished, can you tell your dad and Denver that the food’s ready? They’re outside chopping wood for the cold front moving through tomorrow.”

“Yeppers. Is it finally gonna snow?” I ask, passing under the arched doorway that leads into our spacious dining room.

“That’s what the weather guessers are claiming, at least,” she replies distrustfully, then adds, “Let the girls know it’s time too, please.”

Ever since I can remember, we’ve always eaten dinner together at the table, a time to share about our day and stay connected as a family. When my mom says it’s time for dinner, unless we’re sick in bed or have other special plans that have been previously approved, our butts better be in our chairs, ready to participate in the conversation. This has never really bothered me, because before today, I’ve never had anything exciting to talk about, and now that I do, I don’t much feel like it. For once, I want something to be all mine.

After I quickly set the table, I call upstairs for Cheyenne and Brighton to come down before alerting Doug and my little brother that it’s time to head inside. I haven’t changed out of my clothes from earlier, wanting to hang on to the faint trace of Crew’s cologne lingering in my plaid flannel shirt, so before everyone else joins me at the table, I take a quick sniff of it and allow a giddy giggle to escape, still a little uncertain about what what happened earlier means.

“Yes, you need a shower, and no, it’s not funny.” Cheyenne startles me as she comes up from behind, making me jump several inches in my seat. She plops down next to me and crinkles her nose up like something stinks. “You always smell like outside…earthy; it’s no wonder you never have boyfriends.”

“Leave her alone, Chey,” Doug scolds as the rest of the family filters in, everyone taking their usual seat. “She had a date just last night, which I’m sure she’s dying to tell us all about. Aren’t you, Hudson?”

I squirm uncomfortably in my chair, hoping no one is paying much attention, since they’re all busy piling their plates full of Italian deliciousness. Several minutes pass without another mention of it, but as soon as everyone has served themselves and settled with their food in front of them, the topic is approached again.

“Now, we’re all ears, Hudson. Tell us about last night. When are you seeing him again?” Mel asks eagerly.

All eyes are locked on me, everyone waiting for me to divulge into some sensational story of heated passion. Setting my fork down on the edge of my plate, I take a drink of water and clear my throat. “I’m not sure I’ll be going out with Beckham again,” I mumble apprehensively, twisting a napkin in my lap. “The date was pretty bland, and I think we’re just better off as friends.”

“Oh, honey, what happened? Were you embarrassed to see him afterwards at school today?” Mel’s expression quickly morphs into one of disappointment and pity. “If so, that’s totally normal. Don’t think he’s gonna go around telling his friends what you were like in bed, ‘cause that’s just a myth. Guys really aren’t like that.”

“Yes, we are,” Doug interjects, “but it’s nothing to be ashamed of. Be proud you were good enough that he wanted to gloat. I tell all my friends how incredible Mel is in the sack.”

What in the hell?

“There’s nothing for him to talk about! We didn’t have sex! He took me to a movie, then brought me home and kissed me goodnight. That was it,” I insist, trying not to make eye contact with anyone while ignoring the snickers from my sisters.

“Why not? Did you tell him you weren’t interested?” Mel inquires.

Tossing my napkin down on the table, I shout, “No! He didn’t ask if I was interested or not, but if he would’ve, my answer would’ve been no!” I pause to take a deep breath then lower my voice to a calmer octave. “After hanging out together, I just wasn’t feeling it. It was like going out with Denver…there was no spark between us.”

No one says a word for what seems like an eternity until Grams chimes in. “Did you feel a spark when you were making out with that cute boy in front of cabin eight this afternoon?”

Somebody, please shoot me now.

All hell breaks loose at the table as everyone’s shouting different things at me…everyone but Grams, who’s curiously silent again, sitting directly across the table from me, wearing a smug smile like she just won the damn lottery.

“Enough! That’s enough!” Doug stands up and bangs his spoon on the table like a judge with a gavel, demanding the courtroom’s attention. Once it’s quiet, he falls back into his chair and slides his eyes over to me. “Hudson, please enlighten us on what Grams is talking about. Is it true?”

Fidgeting like a guilty defendant on a witness stand, I shake my head no, but murmur, “Maybe.”

More pandemonium ensues, mostly coming from Cheyenne and Brighton, who are arguing they already claimed him and that life isn’t fair. Annoyed that my sisters are trying to make this about them, this time it’s me who jumps out of my seat to get everyone’s attention.

“Stop it! All of you! Just stop being so weird!” I scream, my control teetering. They all shut up and stare at me in amazement. I never lose my cool, like never ever, and this is the second time I’ve yelled in less than ten minutes.

Shaking my head, I drop my chin to my chest and take several deep breaths. “Look, Beckham is a nice guy, but we’re just gonna be friends, because that’s all I want from him.” I stop and peer up at everyone, ensuring they’re paying attention before continuing, “I don’t know anything about Crew Elliott other than I met him last night, then saw him again this morning, and I felt something different. Call it a spark, an attraction, whatever you want, but it was definitely more than I’ve ever felt around another guy.”

“But, sweetie,” my dad interrupts, “they’re only visiting. He’ll be gone next weekend.”

“No, they’re actually moving here. Mary, the mom, had a job interview today, and they went looking for a place to live this afternoon,” I clarify as I sit back down. “The younger son, Caleb, has epilepsy, and they haven’t had any luck with the traditional drugs and treatments, so they’re moving here in hopes that medical marijuana can help with his seizures and migraines.”

Both of my parents’ eyes fill with compassion as I go into detail about the family’s situation, and I know instantly that no matter what happens between me and Crew—even if it’s nothing at all—they’ll want to assist in any way possible. I explain how I researched the strains and took some samples of our stuff over to the cabin this evening, in order for Caleb to hopefully get some relief while they’re getting settled here.

“You know we’ll do whatever we can, Hudson,” Mel says sincerely, glancing around the table. “All of us…anything they need. I can’t even imagine what that poor woman’s going through. We’ve been so blessed to have healthy kids.”

Nodding appreciatively at my mom and dad, I relax momentarily, thinking the craziness has passed, but the second I pick my fork up, ready to finally dig into the now-cool meal in front of me, Cheyenne opens her big mouth.

“What does any of this have to do with you kissing Crew today?” she snaps, obviously still bothered by the thought.

However, rather than blowing up again or telling her to mind her own business, I simply flash a sugary-sweet smile in her direction and say, “Girls who smell like dirt must do it for him.”

Review

This is my very first Erin Noelle book that I have read all on her own.  I did happen to read another title by her and SE Hall that I greatly enjoyed but I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into Spark except for that the amazing cover so freaking smoking hot.  Whew.  I absolutely love it.  The beanie, the fire, the smoke…well it just made me really happy.  😉  I am so glad that I decided to give this one a try based on that sexy as all get out cover because I really enjoyed it.

“You should never underestimate the power of a cute boy.”

Ah!  Crew is definitely your typical cocky and sexy bad boy book friend but in a lot of ways he is also completely different in just as many ways.  He is completely selfless and loving and caring when it comes to his family.  Especially his little bro, who suffers from a terrible illness that paves their small families path from Texas to a holistic medical marijuana resort in the Rocky Mountains in search of any kind of relief for his brother.  There he meets hippy dippy Hudson Shavell.

“C’mere, baby, I’m ready for that dessert.”

Hudson and Crew have an immediate attraction to each other and Hudson is determined to help Crew’s little brother as much as she can but a series of events unfolds that will change all of their lives forever.

“How I made it through my first nineteen years, I’ll never fucking understand, because my life didn’t start until you entered it.”

This book was completely different than other NA romance novels that I have read.  The theme of the story was very deep and poignant but Erin somehow managed to still make some parts funny and the characters snarky and cute.  I really enjoyed her writing as well.  It is very well done and her descriptions of the people and area made me feel like I was there experiencing this beautiful resort in the mountains with this hippy family.  Spark is told from both Hudson and Crew’s point of view and had a very nice HEA!

There’s this boy.

He kinda owns my heart.

Who am I kidding?

He owns all of me–but he’s completely oblivious to it.

And I can’t tell him.

Because there’s this girl.

And even though he’s my best friend, she is too.

Then there’s me…

CAUGHT between what feels so right, yet is so wrong.

Check out our review HERE.

Greg

isn’t a bad looking guy. He’s not even slightly bad looking. In fact, he’s

extremely good looking with his brutish looks. But that’s the thing – he’s just

too beefy for my taste. He’s thick all over. Well, from what I can see, and

what I’ve heard, he is. Which is good for him since most people think buff guys

usually suffer from teeny weeny syndrome and they’re just trying to

overcompensate in other ways.

His

head is typically filled with blonde locks, but he shaved it off this summer.

Maybe it was some sort of rugby initiation or whatever weird sport he’ll be

playing in college.

“Excuse

me, Greg?”

His

head swings my way as if he was just waiting for me to call his name. His smile

is wide and his hazel eyes are bright. He’s genuinely a happy guy. And that’s

what I like about him. That’s why I’m able to look past his player ways and

enjoy his company.

I

do a quick glance up his muscly body from feet to face. His tan, smooth-looking

legs are crossed at the ankle, reaching the other side of the truck as they’re

stretched out. The colorful, geometric print trunks fully engulf his thighs, which

is a plus. Guys shouldn’t wear more fitted clothes than I do. Then there’s his

tank top. The non-existent fabric bunches loosely in the middle of his torso.

“Yes,

Quinn?” he smirks.

“Your

chesticles are showing.”

He

glances down and laughs. “Is that a problem?”

“No.”

I pop a grape in my mouth. “I just can’t stop staring.”

He

laughs even harder and I try my best to refrain from it myself. I’m not looking

to choke on a grape as we drive down the highway.

“Make

em’ pop,” I demand as I lift my sunglasses to the top of my head for a better

view.

“Do

what?”

“You

know.” I sit my grapes down and hold my hands in front of my own chest, moving

my hands up and down. “Make them pop, dance, jiggle. Hell, make them rain for

all I care. They have to be capable of doing something cool.”

“Oh,

hell yeah. I’ve had that shit down since the seventh grade.” He straightens his

back and positions his arms in some weird flex in front of him. Then he begins

to make them pop, drop and lock it. I giggle like a little girl as I watch. His

face makes it all the better as he seems to be straining. He looks constipated.

Without

any inclination, I toss a grape at his tits. And with perfect precision he

bounces his man boob just in time to deflect it. I play catch with his chest a

little while longer before finally putting my earbuds in and relaxing.

“The hardest thing in the world, or my world, is being happy about something you are insanely jealous of.”

So  . . . I have this crazy relationship with love triangles, I love to hate them. That meaning I can’t stop reading them but have so much anxiety during the process I swear I will never do it again and yet here I am having just read yet one more. That being said I loved this book. The dynamic between these three best friends brings be back to that just out of high school age where your close friends are the most important thing in your life (even above family) and you would do anything to protect that. But what do you do when you love one of your best friends and he happens to be the boyfriend of your other best friend?

“I really hope I didn’t fuck things up.” “Me too,”

This book surprised me to be honest. I thought it would be one of those easy going books where everyone easily realizes who they belong with and all this happens with quick wit and a light heart. And while this book is quite funny thanks to the Quinn-isms it is also angsty, tragic and heartbreakingly endearing. Nothing comes easy for these three characters and on the path to figure it all out they each make many of the mistakes we all must go through in our youth.

“You’re the forever type of girl. But you’re not mine to have.”

Sexy and emotional Caught is told from dual pov and while not terribly long this book is full of surprising twist and turns. The story was smoothed and flowed nicely as if it was written by just one author. These two authors have done a fantastic job of blending their styles into a New Adult story you won’t want to miss.

Review

Courtney is a single mom just trying to get through life with her 5 year old son Ben. Working 2 jobs, she is trying to provide for her son and pay off some bills. Very busy with juggling work and her son, she doesn’t think too much of her hot landlord that lives next door in the duplex. Sam is hard working and has his fair share of ladies. After being burned by his ex fiancé, he doesn’t know if he could ever love again. But when these two slowly begin to enter each other’s worlds, they can’t get enough of one another. The chemistry is beyond anything they’ve felt before.

I could not get enough of this book! Even though it was short, I devoured it! The characters were excellent and very relatable. There were moments where I sighed (a romantic sigh) at the swoon worthy parts and then blushed at the heated moments. I mean, what girl does want to hear they drive a man crazy! “Christ, woman. You make me feel!” I want my very own Sam! I look forward to more from Anna Brooks! 4 smooches for Not Your Hero!

Secret by Kindle Alexander Cover Reveal

Title: Secret

Author: Kindle Alexander

Genre: M/M Romance

Release Date: Summer 2015

Tristan Wilder, self-made millionaire and devastatingly handsome CEO of Wilder-Nation is on the verge of a very lucrative buyout. With tough negotiations ahead, he’s armed with his acquisition pitch, ready to launch the deal of a lifetime. There’s just one glitch. The last thing he expects is to fall for the hot business owner he’s trying to sway.

Dylan Reeves, computer science engineer and founder of the very successful social media site, Secret, is faced with a life-altering decision. A devoted family man with three kids and a wife, Dylan has been living a secret for years. Fiercely loyal to his convictions, his boundaries blur after meeting the striking owner of the corporation interested in acquiring his company. For the first time in his life, reckless desire consumes him when the gorgeous computer mogul makes an offer he can’t refuse.

After

a few minutes of staring at Dylan, who hadn’t looked his way since he entered

the conference room, Tristan cleared his throat, stopping the flow of the

presentation. “Can you all give me a few minutes alone with Mr. Reeves?”

He

could feel every eye turned his way. Dylan was slower to respond. He’d been

reading from the contract and lifted his head, business clearly on his mind.

But the minute their gazes met, Tristan got why Dylan had avoided eye contact.

His gaze held a mixture of both heat and need. Sparks flew between the two of

them and Tristan smiled.

“You

heard him,” Landry said and began shooing everyone out. As the last person

left, Landry came to the center of the table, standing between the two of them.

He clearly thought Tristan’s request hadn’t included him.

“Landry,

I need a private discussion with Mr. Reeves,” Tristan said, rising from his

seat at the end of the table. Landry came immediately to him, standing in front

of him, blocking Dylan from seeing or hearing anything he said.

“I

don’t think that’s a good idea,” Landry whispered so quietly Tristan barely

heard him. “We almost have them, I can see it.”

Tristan

cut his eyes over to Landry’s and motioned with his head for him to move along

out the door with everyone else. Landry’s brow furrowed and he started to shake

his head. Tristan stared at him with intense attitude until he finally left the

room. Tristan had no doubt he’d stand right outside that door. There wasn’t too

much of Wilder, Inc. that Landry wasn’t included in, and he certainly wouldn’t

like being put out of a meeting he’d orchestrated. Tristan moved to a chair

directly beside Dylan who hadn’t uttered a single word since his request for

privacy.

“You

look nice today,” Tristan said quietly, smiling as Dylan’s cheeks grew red.

“Is

that why you made everyone leave?”

“No,

of course not. I could have just told you later, but that whole look’s perfect

on you. The hair’s hot. Pinstripes fit your frame remarkably well. You look

taller, more intimidating. Great look for negotiations or the cover of GQ. You

could do both.” Tristan scooted closer. “Did you get my flowers?” he asked even

quieter.

“I

did. Thank you, but that was a risky move,” Dylan said, clearly ignoring the compliment.

“I

wrote and sealed the card myself. What did you do with the flowers?” Tristan

leaned forward, then moved in a little more, smelling Dylan’s cologne. That had

Dylan pushing back in his chair.

“I

gave them to the concierge that helped me this morning,” Dylan answered and

then backtracked. “I didn’t think I’d be in my room very much and didn’t want

them to go to waste.”

“I

figured you’d do something like that. It’s why I picked those colors. So that

means you’re coming with me tonight?” Tristan asked, his eyes still focused

directly on Dylan’s.

“We’ll

see how things go today. I’m not sure about all this. You lowballed me and I

was just reading about the staffing…” Dylan started, but Tristan lifted a hand

to Dylan’s lips to stop his words. He let his fingers linger as he spoke.

“I

don’t want to talk business yet. I honestly was only informed of the changes to

personnel when I walked in today. From this point forward, you and I will

decide how this sale goes, no one else, but before we do, I want to put

personal before business because they are two separate entities between us.

Will you please go with me tonight? I need to cancel some things if you’re not coming,”

Tristan added at Dylan’s skeptical look.

Best Selling Author Kindle Alexander is an innovative writer, and a genre-crosser who writes classic fantasy, romance, suspense, and erotica in both the male/male and male/female genres. It’s always a surprise to see what’s coming next!

I live in the suburbs of Dallas where it’s true, the only thing bigger than an over active imagination, may be women’s hair!

Usually, I try for funny. Humor is a major part of my life – I love to laugh, and it seems to be the thing I do in most situations – regardless of the situation, but jokes are a tricky deal… I don’t want to offend anyone and jokes tend to offend. So instead I’m going to tell you about Kindle.

I tragically lost my sixteen year old daughter to a drunk driver. She had just been at home, it was early in the night and I heard the accident happen. I’ll never forget that moment. The sirens were immediate and something inside me just knew. I left my house, drove straight to the accident on nothing more than instinct. I got to be there when my little girl died – weirdly, I consider that a true gift from above. She didn’t have to be alone.

That time in my life was terrible. It’s everything you think it would be times about a billion. I love that kid. I loved being her mother and I loved watching her grow into this incredibly beautiful person, both inside and out. She was such a gift to me. To have it all ripped away so suddenly broke me.

Her name was Kindle. Honest to goodness – it was her name and she died a few weeks before Amazon released their brand new Kindle ereader. She had no idea it was coming out and she would have finally gotten her name on something! Try finding a ruler with the name Kindle on it.. It never happened.

Through the course of that crippling event I was lucky enough to begin to write with a dear friend in the fan fiction world of Facebook. She got me through those dark days with her unwavering support and friendship. There wasn’t a time she wasn’t there for me. Sometimes together and sometimes by myself, we built a world where Kindle lives and stands for peace, love and harmony. It’s its own kind of support group. I know without question I wouldn’t be here today without her.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author

New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and wiling her days away lost in a good book and the movies.

With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the worlds those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.

Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She’s obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she’s a pro.

Synopsis

Doughnuts were her weakness.

If Sadie Mullins hadn’t been running on the beach to burn off the calories from her doughnut addiction, she wouldn’t have noticed the man not moving out in the water.

Wouldn’t have dived in after him.

Wouldn’t have met West Montgomery.

The cocky bastard should have been thankful, grateful even.

Of course, he wasn’t.

That should have been the end of it.

Excerpt

I woke up slowly to the sound of panting. Hot, damp air was puffing rhythmically against my face. When something wet poked my cheek a few seconds later, I jerked away reflexively. Confused, I cracked my eyes open blearily and staring back at me were saddest, droopiest brown eyes I had ever seen.

What the hell?

I smothered a scream and struggled to sit up in bed. Blinking against the sledgehammer banging in my skull, I fell back to my elbow and realized two things at once. One, I knew those eyes. General Beauregard was staring back at me forlornly, opening his mouth in a huge yawn, drool stretching between his jowls. Two, I was most definitely not in my own bed.

Looking down to see a tattooed arm draped over my hips, I was slower to realize the most important fact. I wasn’t alone in the bed either. The arm moved into a stretch, and the man next to me yawned too.

West.

My elbow fell out from under me, and I laid on my back staring at the ceiling, trying to force my sluggish brain to work. What the fuck happened when I left Grady’s?

West leaned over me to rub General Beauregard’s ears. “Morning, boy. You ready to go out?” West’s voice was a raspy rumble that resonated through me. His bare chest pressed against my left side, and if I lifted myself up the smallest fraction, I’d be able to lick his shoulder. I closed my eyes against the temptation and took a deep breath. I smelled soap, salt, and citrus. I smelled West. I swallowed back a moan.

General Beauregard let out a soft whine of pure bliss and laid his head heavily against me. When I turned to glance at him, his tongue swiped my cheek and his tail thumped against the floor. West laughed softly and gave the dog one last pat. “I know, buddy. She does look good first thing in the morning.”

My cheeks warmed. And other parts of me did too.

His arm brushed against my breasts as he pulled it back, and my nipples budded in response. He flipped back the covers on his side and padded quietly across the room to a set of sliding glass doors, opening one enough so that the hound slipped out. The sunrise peeked over the ocean through the glass, but it barely registered before my eyes returned to West.

He stood looking out the door in just a pair of boxer briefs. He was all golden skin and lean, ropy muscle and a tight, tight ass hugged by some thin black fabric. I was jealous of that fabric. As he turned back to face me, the grooved definition of his abs was on display, his torso narrowing to a tempting V before disappearing. My eyes dropped lower, taking in the prominent bulge in his shorts. Maybe I was still dreaming. That would explain everything but the jackhammer in my skull. The light dimmed as he drew the curtains and shut out the light.

Slipping back into bed and covering his lower half back up, he turned on his side and faced me, one arm tunneling under the pillow beneath his head, the other resting between us. I stared at his fingers and tried to focus. I dida quick inventory of my body. My head was pounding, but the darkened room helped. My stomach was clenching, but I blamed that more on the view than the hangover. I tensed my legs experimentally. My thighs felt… fine. Not sore at all. What did that mean? Had the sex been bad? Or maybe he had been like Jared, and the act had been over so fast that my muscles never even got a workout.

“Coffee,” I croaked, turning away from him. I couldn’t be expected to think clearly without coffee. I sat up on the side of the bed and swayed dizzily for a moment. Jesus Christ, my head. Looking down, I saw I was only wearing one of the logoed bar shirts from the Wreck and my underwear. My cutoffs were on the floor near the end of the bed and I slid them on quickly, grateful for the oversized length of the shirt.

Without looking back, I slipped from the room, figuring the kitchen couldn’t be that hard to find. Sure enough, it was just down the hall and to the right. I pushed my wild hair out of my face and squinted around the too-bright room. Morning light filtered through curtainless windows and glinted off the oversized stainless steel fridge. I reached for my wrist, but apparently my hair tie had disappeared along with the rest of my clothes.

Coffee. I smelled it. I had to be close. Turning around farther, I spotted it. Just past the retro enamel toaster, a glass pot sat beneath the small coffee maker, filled halfway with steaming brown liquid gold. . I plucked a cup out of the sink, not caring if it was clean or dirty, and filled it to the brim. Leaning back against the counter, I inhaled deeply, trying to expel the smell of West from my mind.

As I took my first tentative sip, Wyatt walked into the room, wearing only board shorts. I swallowed the wrong way, coughing and sputtering before setting the cup down behind me, my lungs burning. What was it about these guys that messed with my basic ability to breathe properly? And what the fuck was Wyatt doing here?

Wyatt reached around me to pour himself a cup. “Mornin’,” he said, smiling at me knowingly, his eyes running down the length of my body.

I stared at him in dawning horror.

Oh. My. God.

Did I have a threesome last night?

Unpredictable by C.A. Harms Blog Tour

Title: Unpredictable

Series: Key West Series #1

Author: C.A. Harms

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Release Date: April 14, 2015

Have you ever wished for a moment that you could pretend to live the life of someone else? Escape the harsh reality that your own is anything but perfect?

Quinn had always been forced to put her own needs last. With an absent father and a mother who drowns herself daily in a bottle of Rum, there was no other option.

Jett was the distraction she needed, even if it was just for one night. A void filler, a chance for a freeing moment to allow herself to feel something other than emptiness.

He wasn’t what she expected…

Gentle

Her life didn’t have room for a man like Jett.

Unpredictable

But now it was too late, there was no turning back.

Desire

Nothing would ever be the same.

Check out our 4 smooches review HERE.

“Have I told you how perfect you are?” Quinn asked as she backed her way into my kitchen. I tossed my keys onto the counter and stalked toward her.

I shook my head, staring directly at her. “Well, you are,” she replied. “The way you were with my mom, I’m pretty sure she has a crush on you.”

I chuckled as I reached out for her and gripped her hips. I backed her up against the counter and pinned her with my body. “Have I told you how sexy you are?” I asked. She shook her head, mocking my earlier response. “Do you wanna go swimming?” I whispered as I kissed along her neck.

“I don’t have a suit,” she replied breathlessly.

Smiling against her neck, I nipped at her ear.

“With what I have in mind, you don’t need one,” I assured her. “It would just get in my way.”

“Really?” she taunted. “What exactly do you have strolling through that mind of yours?”

I could tell by the way her breathing had sped up and her body sagged against mine that she was turned on.

“I was thinking we could slip into the hot tub.” I flicked my tongue along her collarbone. A soft whimper fell from her lips, making my dick twitch in response.

“Where I could slowly and very diligently kiss and devour you.” Another moan as her held fell back, opening her neck to my assault. Sucking along the exposed skin, I kissed her jawline.

“Then when I have you at the point where you feel like you might burst from the need for me, I’ll bury myself inside your warm body. How’s that sound?” I asked.

“You had me at hot tub,” she panted.

Yeah, Shay was a good-looking girl. She was at one time someone I lusted after, but now things were different. She was recently divorced from some hotshot attorney. Now the rumor was she was looking for an easy ride and some sorry bastard to take care of her.

“I’m better now. You wanna go get a beer and catch up?” she asked.

The desire in her eyes made my stomach drop. There was no way we would be going down that road again.

Just then I saw movement over her shoulder and a flicker of red. Looking past Shay, I spotted the brunette from earlier. Seeing her as my way out, I went with it.

“Actually I can’t, sorry. My girl’s waiting on me.” I stepped around her. “Good seeing ya, though.”

Shay started to argue, but I ignored her whine.

My eyes locked on the brunette in red, and I silently pleaded to her with my eyes. I prayed she would go along with it, even if only long enough for me to escape.

She watched me approach, an eyebrow arched in question. She squinted, causing her nose to crinkle, and I fought against the laughter as I stepped up to her.

“Listen, I know you have no idea who I am, but please just go along with what I’m about to do.” I was pretty much begging her to help me escape the vulture that was waiting to attack me at my weakest moment.

“I’m not sure. What is it exactly you plan to do?” she asked.

I brought my body up against hers and wrapped my arms around her shoulders, hugging her close. With her face tucked in against my neck, I whispered in her ear. “Nothing more than put on a show. I promise this is all I have planned. Well, besides maybe walking away together until she can no longer see us.”

“Your ex?” she questioned.

“No, just someone from my past. A night I never want to repeat,” I whispered back.

I still stood with my arms wrapped around this girl, a girl who for some reason didn’t make me want to run in the opposite direction. She had the sweetest scent. I held her tiny body tucked securely against mine. It felt comfortable.

“Are you planning on holding me hostage all night, hugging me?” I chuckled at her comment. The thing was, she never tried to pull away. Instead, she hugged me back, like the closeness was something she needed, her fingers trailing along my waist, then linking together behind me.

“Well, that depends. Do you want to be my hostage?” She lifted her head, looking up into my eyes. The biggest brown eyes I had ever seen boring into mine made my heart rate pick up just a little more.

“Something tells me I would enjoy being a hostage in your hands.” Her voice was almost like a soft purr, long lashes fluttering as her cheeks reddened. “I can’t believe I just said that, sorry.”

“Don’t apologize. I actually like your honesty.” We continued to study each other, waiting for the next move. I know what was running through my mind, but I was sure I would only get slapped if I acted on those thoughts.

I enjoy happy endings in my love stories. Loving those scenes that give it the needed angst and heat to keep you hooked and wanting more. Just enough drama to make her heart race and your stomach flutter. I haven’t always been a lover of Romance and had once been addicted to a good Mystery. Just recently I have taken on a new liking and now I am addicted to Romance Novel.

I am a Limitless Publishing Author and love sharing my stories with my great fans. Feedback is great and I really enjoy interacting with my readers.

I live in Illinois and enjoy spending time with my husband and two children.

You will always find me with my kindle or paperback in hand as it is my favorite pass time.

And I never leave home without a small notebook. You never know when an idea for a new story will strike.
