SYNOPSIS:

I’m about to lose everything.

My home. My name. My future.

My husband was involved in something that could cost us our lives, and on his deathbed, he demands my daughter and I flee Britain.

I had no idea he found her biological father, Holden James, in Rose Canyon, and that’s where we’d start over.

The moment we see each other, feelings I’d long forgotten rush over me. Holden doesn’t hesitate to care for us. We find ourselves reaching for each other, even when we should hold back. His smile warms me, his arms protect me, and against my better judgment, I fall for him. All the possibilities of a future are threatened by a looming past.

I’m being hunted, and it’s just a matter of time before someone finds me guilty of crimes I didn’t commit. Whatever trouble my husband was involved in won’t evade me forever.

I am trying to keep my promise and stay for Holden, but I don’t know how long it’ll be before we have to run.

My name was Sophie Pearson, but I vanished, just like my hope to ever find love again.

REVIEW:

I’ve been excited for Holden’s story since the start of this series, I mean, that blurb! I don’t want to give away anything here, I really think readers will have the best experience sinking into the story and letting it unfold as organically as possible. I’ll just tell you that in a series of fantastic stories, Corinne saved the best for last with Keep This Promise. What. An. Ending!

Holden and Sophie’s story was complex and complicated, and one heck of a twisting, turning, tumultuous second-chance romance. A woman on the run from a life she didn’t know she was living, Sophie definitely had some baggage, but it wasn’t exactly of her own making. Holden was a swoon-worthy blend of charismatic and cocky, protective and passionate. Eden was a scene-stealing little sweetheart, and her and Holden’s connection was of the head-over-heels, heartstring-pulling variety. Keep This Promise had plenty of Michaels’ signature angsty emotion, but there were also wonderfully poignant moments within this slow-burn yet steamy romance. This was totally an unputdownable, devour-it-in-a-day page-turner, and I loved every single second of it.

Keep This Promise was as a heart-racing as it was heart-pounding. This was a wildly engaging and utterly addictive story with a plot that kept me on the edge of my seat and butterflies-in-my-tummy chemistry. I loved the appearances of characters from the previous stories in this series as well as from Michaels’ Salvation series, and if that doesn’t do it for you, there’s a little crossover from Melanie Harlow’s Tempt that will make the Michaels/Harlow fangirl in you freak out. To top it all off, Corinne leaves readers with the set up for her next series, and let me tell you, I’m beside myself in anticipation. Five smooches from me for Keep This Promise by Corinne Michaels!
