Synopsis

Max Leokov has watched the people around him find love.
At one point in life, he not only wanted that, but lived for it.
He loved once. He loved with all his heart.
His heart broken, he was left to care for his young daughter.

He deserves a second chance.

Helena Kovac has spent years studying.
She has worked her ass off to get her degree.
She doesn’t have time for love. Hell, she doesn’t have time to mess around, even.
Books and work are her life. Everything else comes second.

When Max and Helena join forces to help his daughter, Ceecee, they are shocked at the spark between them.

A cynic.
A workaholic.

When love hits, it hits hard.

And sometimes, love hurts.

Review

When this book popped up on my Kindle I was super excited! I LOVE both the other books in this series and was so glad to hear Belle was writing another!

Helena is focused. For the past four years she has been focused on school and now that she’s finished, she’s focused on her job and building her career. With all that focus she hasn’t had time for much else, especially love. Her new job takes her across the country to New York, where she is excited to spend more time with her sister Natalie, her new brother in law Asher and their whole motley crew of friends.

On the surface, Max is the fun-loving flirt. But his ex has scared him away from relationships and his main focus has to be on his daughter Ceecee, who is the light of his life. Between work and family, Max is happy and not looking for anything serious.

Now that Helena’s in town and with both her and Max not looking for a serious commitment, it seems like the perfect arrangement, friends with benefits, nothing permanent, no strings attached. Well we all know how that goes ;).

I truly enjoyed every single page of this book. Just like the rest of this series, it had me laughing out loud at this fun group of friends. Helena was a great character and I loved the banter between her and Natalie. Max is kind of a dream, super sweet and an amazing Dad. The two of them together is incredible; their chemistry was off the charts! Overall a perfect read, funny, emotional and sexy! I couldn’t ask for more. I really look forward to more books in this series; I want to read more about Willa and Whit!!!
