The Callback by Brandy Rivers Review

4 Smooches

Synopsis

Actors are always waiting for the callback.

Leona Shay isn’t looking for love. Having just gone through a divorce from her high school sweetheart, her world is in upheaval. And things are about to get even crazier after selling the movie rights to her series.

Rising movie star, Luke Chance, could have anyone he wants, but he wants an author who may not be ready for him or anything that comes with being with him.

Luke wants a role in the movie. Leona can’t see him as the lead, not that she has a say in the cast. Their first encounter may be rocky, but he’s not going to let her slip away.

Trust doesn’t come easy for Leona. Tabloids and distance may send her running. How far is Luke willing to chase?

Review

Brandy Rivers’ books are always exciting and intriguing to me. I have read and loved both her contemporary and her paranormal and she never lets me down. She brings the heat and heart in her stories on top of amazing storylines! The Callback was no different and I devoured it in a day!

Luke is a movie star and Leona is an author whose book is about to be made into a movie. YES PLEASE. The build was a nice slow (but not painstakingly slow) burn with them getting to know each other as well as her needing to get used to his lifestyle. I personally really enjoyed how not everything was smooth and easy, it made the connection between them feel very real.

The Callback is a fun standalone romance that any romance lover can enjoy. While third person is not typically my favorite to read I never mind it when reading Brandy”s books. I get engrossed in the story and don’t often notice the style it is written in.
