SYNOPSIS:

I never thought I’d see her again.

We shared one hot night together back in college before our paths took us in different directions.

But now, the most brilliant and beautiful woman I’ve ever met is back in my life. And the chemistry I remember? It’s more combustible than ever.

Except…our fling is forbidden and must exist only in secret. Her rules, not mine.

I can’t be her forever. I’m not that guy, and even she knows it.

But I can’t stay away from her either. I’m determined to claim not just her body but her heart, even if that’s the one thing she’s vowed not to give me.

REVIEW:

I love a good second-chance romance, especially when some sort of a reunion is involved. I also really love hockey romances, and Kendall Ryan’s The Rebel is an engaging blend of these two favorite tropes of mine. Ryan is no stranger to hockey romances, and I loved her entire Hot Jocks series. The Rebel kicks off the Looking to Score series, and Kendall is off to a strong start with the first book. A sexy sports romance with just enough angsty emotion to keep me invested, I was really looking forward this book, and Kendall did not let me down. She set the bar high with this sizzling second-chance romance, and she introduced a whole new crew of endearing hockey players whose stories I can’t wait to get my hands on.

Holt stole my heart from the start. He was broody, moody and so perceptive, and he had a serious crush on Eden, the daughter of the governor and a girl he considered way out of his league. Eden may have been born into wealth, but she wasn’t without her own problems. For one precious night back in college, she and Holt bridged that gap before she moved on to a long-term relationship with a cocky hockey player named Alex.

Fast-forward six years after graduation, a freshly single Eden is mourning the sudden loss of her beloved grandfather while taking over the reins of his professional hockey team. Unfortunately, the fans, sports bloggers and reporters aren’t exactly thrilled that a young, single woman is now heading up their favorite team, and there have been threats and protests. Holt and Eden are reunited when he is brought in to head up security for Eden and her hockey team.

Eden still feels the connection they made that night, but her focus is on the team and on trying to fill her grandfather’s shoes. The sizzling chemistry between the two of them is hard to ignore, and despite both their best efforts to fight it, they slowly give in to the inevitable. I loved Holt’s patient persistence, and his unwavering support of Eden as she found her footing in the male-dominated world of professional hockey.

The Rebel  was emotional, passionate and unputdownable pleasure-reading. With a swoon-worthy hero and a hard-working heroine coming into her own, it was full of heart-string-pulling emotion and a smoking hot, slow-building romance. The Rebel by Kendall Ryan gets 5 smooches from me!
