Synopsis

Annora Channing’s entire world changes the moment she discovers she’s a bear shifter. With mated wolves for parents, she should have been a wolf also. When the man she grew up thinking was her father realizes she isn’t his daughter, he devises a plan to use her existence to his advantage in a way that will get her out from under his roof.

When her situation goes from bad to worse, Annora escapes but is badly injured in the process. Luckily, Elias Reve comes to her rescue while on his way to Wolf’s Point and the daughter he lost years ago. With nowhere else to go and nobody to turn to, Annora joins him on his journey and ends up running smack-dab into the arms of her mate.

Parker Tate knows Annora is his the moment he lays eyes on her. When he manages to mate and mark her within hours of when they meet, he considers himself lucky. Then the trouble nipping at Annora’s heels finds her and Parker realizes the path to claiming his mate won’t be as easy as he thought – especially not with the bears involved.

Review

“The idea that my mate was out there somewhere right now, injured and in need of help, was kill me though.”

Thrown To The Wolves is the third book in the novella series Black River Wolves by Rochelle Paige. Each book revolves around a brother finding his mate and this book is all about Parker. Parker, Parker, Parker you have woven your way into my heart. The men of the Black River series are domineering, powerful yet kind and accepting alphas and none more so than Parker.

“Holy hell, that guy is smoking hot.”

From the moment that Eliza tells him he dreamed of his mate and not only is she hurt but vastly different than what he was expecting he never flinched. He didn’t care what made her different nor what she had gone through in her past all he cared about was her getting to him and protecting her. No man in this series acted as fast and as protective and powerful as Parker did and I think I fell for him a bit for it!

“Can’t wait to see if my nieces or nephews are wolf or bear. It’ll be more fun than guessing their sex.”

Annora, much like all the women in this series, has had a hard life. Her father was both physically and emotionally abusive and she has never felt like she belonged in her wolf pack. On her eighteenth birthday when she surprisingly shirts not into a wolf but into a bear she finally knows why. The dad who raised her was not her father and upon finding that out he finds her easily disposable and quickly sells her to a scary and mean alpha in another pack.

“He won’t face your troubles alone, We’ll stand by you just the same as we would our brother.”

Life does not really begin for her till she finds the Black River Pack, with the help of Eliza’s father. I love this pack and all the men in it so much. It could be so easy for them to cast shame on those who are different than them but instead they non only invite them in they claim them as their own. While I wish these books were longer that is only because I enjoy these stories so much I just always want more. Rochelle Paige knows good alpha and how to give it to me good! 😉
