Review

I was frustrated while reading this story as there was great potential but it just didn’t reach it.
It had a slight 50 shades and This Man feel. A rich, sexy man who owns a sex club and men’s magazine and a young somewhat naive women who’s in college, coming together in a passionate and drama filled relationship. It just didn’t quite reach the quality of similar books.

There were things I liked about this book. Firstly the plot was good, it had all the potential there. There was sex, passion, love, drama. All the elements required for a good sexy romance. I loved the story line about Caston’s “mother” She was pure evil and a little crazy in my eyes but she made for a great story line. And my favourite scene has to be the sex scene on the plane. It was off the charts hot and sexy.

I also liked the characters personalities. Caston was sexy, strong, protective, caring…he showed his emotions to Bre, he was very passionate, a bit over dramatic at times but I would love to have a guy who got down on his knees to apologise to me so I didn’t really mind when he went a bit over the top.

Bri was the classic young naive women to me. She did have spirit though and even though at the beginning she seemed a bit weak to me as the story progressed she became stronger and spirited and more aware of herself and what she was involved in.

One of the aspects I didn’t love about the story was the dialogue between the characters and the flow of the writing.
Honestly I felt that Caston sounded like a robot sometimes. He rarely used words like ‘didn’t’ or ‘can’t’ it was always ‘did not’ and ‘can not’ and it just didn’t seem realistic to me, it’s not how people talk to each other, although I do understand that because he came from a wealthy family, upper class, that this may be how the author wanted him to talk and sound.

Another aspect I didn’t love was that it was often unbelievable. They fell in love within a day, which is just too quick for me and the flashback scene of when we are told of how Bre and Mark met, although I felt terrible for Bre, it was unrealistic so I couldn’t connect to that story line.

The ending however was brilliant. It was so explosive. It all happened so quickly and there was so much drama, I LOVED it!

There is potential here for this story to be great. But for me it fell short in a number of aspects. I will definitely read books from this author again to see the progress because I do believe as more books are released the better they will be and the ending to this story definitely got me hooked and I look forward to finding out what happens next.
