Synopsis

My life was simple. Follow instructions, learn the family business and
be prepared to take over when the time has come. My name is Eliza,
although people in the business know me as Krinos. One thing you
should know about me is that my father is a drug lord, the boss in
these parts.

I am prepared to do whatever it takes to step up to the challenge and
run the family business, to make my father proud, a business filled
with drugs, sex and death. What I’m not prepared for though is him,
the Greek god who walks into my life and threatens to rock my world.

Now, my life has just got complicated. But don’t misunderstand,
complicated is not a weakness. My father was not a man to cross, so
expect nothing less from me. I am my father’s daughter, and I will be
the boss.

Review

Krinos is Greek for lily, but the female lead in this novel by the same name is no daisy at all. Now positioned to assume the role of leader of a major crime organization, Krinos must protect herself and learn that she is worthy of love.

Krinos wants to make her father proud and needs to keep an edge.

Then in walks Stephanos, the Greek God, who challenges Krinos in every way. “He walks over to me, and I take him in. He is in a clean-cut, black suit with the most panty-dropping features any man has had.” Stephanos knocks Krinos off her kilter, leading to trauma, drama, and love.

The idea of an alpha man, Stephanos, and a bossy-bitch, Krinos, and ensuing sexual tension, seems like a great premise. Unfortunately, I felt that this novel was too short, lacked character development, and went by in a much too hurried pace. It was difficult to picture the characters and their surroundings. More than a few times I had to reread to try to figure out what the heck was going on, and it was a short book!

I enjoyed the sexual tension, but the sex scenes were too short and lacked details. The one scene that I will remember involves this quote which I absolutely love!! “It’s beautiful, it’s passionate. I don’t know what to call it; I’ve never had it with a man before. Though some would call it making love, I would call it consuming my soul.

I had a hard time writing a review for this book, so I checked out Goodreads to get a sense of what others thought, and so far it has received mostly 5 stars. So I am still going to check out other books by this author. I normally love dirty, mafia-type books, and I think that this could be great if the author got more into the details to bring the reader into the story!
