Synopsis

Aaron ‘don’t ever call me Fatbaby’ Sims is lucky to be alive. Or at least that is what everyone keeps telling him. He doesn’t feel lucky, though.

Beard Mode is the first book in Lani Lynn Vale’s new series, The Dixie Wardens Rejects MC, the highly-anticipated spin-off series of her bestselling Heroes of the Dixie Wardens MC series. When Lani first started hinting about the series, I immediately paid attention. I am a huge fan of the Dixie Wardens MC series, so I was very interested in this series. In 2016, Lani took some big risks with her writing and tried new things as evidenced in her edgier, grittier Uncertain Saints MC series and her Kilgore Fire series. All of that experimentation has definitely paid off, and the results are obvious in this series. I’ve always loved her writing style and the way she tells a story. She’s returned to her roots in Beard Mode, but with a sharper and more polished writing style that translated into a richer and fuller plot. She’s introduced a whole new slate of intriguing characters in a new location, and I can’t wait to get my hands on these books!

Beard Mode is more intense than the Dixie Wardens MC series with an exciting, interesting plot that kept me on the edge of my seat until late into the night. One of the hallmarks of any Lani’s novels is the way that she weaves her unique sense of humor into the story, so I was very happy to find plenty of her wit throughout this story. I’ve been waiting for Aaron’s story since he was introduced in the Kilgore Fire series. He has been through so much, both physically and emotionally, and I was very much looking forward to seeing him make his way to the other side of all of that. Imogen was the perfect heroine for this damaged man. She was patient, she was loyal, she was kind and honest. She was exactly what he needed, she gave as good as she got, and their love story was very sweet and sexy.

Now that I’ve read this book, I am even more excited about the whole series than I was before. She has given her readers the start of something special in this series, and as a fan of hers since the very beginning, I’m beyond thrilled. Beard Mode by Lani Lynn Vale gets five smooches from me!

REVIEW

Man.  I thought that I really loved the first book in this series, but I adored this one even more and I wasn’t convinced that I was going to love Henry, but boy did Emma Chase prove me wrong.  Because Henry was sweet and hilarious and he pulled at all of my heart strings.  He was just everything I love in  book boyfriend.

‘I like my sports the way i like to fuck–wild, loud, and dirty.’

Henry was the perfect blend of gentleman and dirty man.  Sometimes he comes downright child like and I wanted to hug him and help him.  He is lost a good part of this book, trying to find his way and I just loved that Sara was there to help him find himself.  And Sara.  She was amazing too.  I love a librarian nerdy type girl, especially one that is in love with being in love and romance and Sara fits that bill to a T.  She was funny and snarky but also just the sweetest.

I was a little worried that I wouldn’t love this story because of the reality show aspect of it, but that part really takes a big back seat to the love story blooming between Henry and Sara.  It is an epic one that you will simply love.  Grab this one now and fall in love with Henry and Sara like I did.  You won’t regret it.  Royally Matched was even better than the first in this series.

This series!  Gah.  If you have kept up with my reviews, than you know that I am not a huge fan of what I like to call ‘Rocker Books’. They just aren’t my jam. I don’t fantasize about falling in love with a famous rock star and traveling with him or staying at home and pining away for him, so I tend to shy away from this type of read.  However, I do take a chance on some and thank freaking God that I decided to pick up these books because I have loved every one in the series and was salivating for Mike’s story.  And goodness gracious Havoc did not disappoint.

I could go on and on all day about the amazing plot of this book.  About being reunited with all of my favorites-band members and friends.  I could, but I won’t because I want to tell you the absolute best dang thing about this story–Mike.  My favorite guy!  I always knew he was going to be the sweetest.  The most thoughtful.  The most kind of this authors boys.  And he was.  God, he was.  But he was so much more too!  He was so unexpected.  His mouth.  His positively filthy dirty mouth.  (fans self)  When the sweetest man says the dirtiest things ever it tends to be a bit overwhelming and in a good way!  Gah.  I loved him.  Don’t wait to get this one.  Run out and grab it!  I’m so sad that this series is over, but I cannot wait for more from this author!
