Desperate Chances is a book I have been very eagerly awaiting. The fourth book in the Bad Rep series we not only get the story of two characters I have loved since meeting them in the first book, Gracie and Mitch but we also get tidbits and wrap ups of the other three couples. While this could easily and enjoyably be read as a standalone you will find a extra layer and depth to these two characters if you have read the other three books as well.

‘I missed Gracie and Mitch. Mitch and Gracie. The two people who had been friends first and lovers later. We hadn’t always been healthy or functional, but we were an us. And that mattered more than anything else.’

Gracie is a recovering alcoholic and anorexic who up until a year ago was surviving with the help of her best friend, Mitch. One heat filled night of passion led her to question everything and ultimately push the one person who knew her best and loved her the most away. Mitch has loved Gracie since meeting her but between her recovery and learning to survive the hectic chaos of band life he had gotten placed in a friend zone. The two were as close as two friends could be but now after their one night of passion they haven’t spoken in a year and both are still just struggling to survive. Mitch has moved on and has a new girlfriend, Sophie and Gracie realized all too late that all she wants and needs in life is Mitch.

 Mitch and Gracie’s story was a hard one but oh so satisfying. A friends to lovers story with so much heart and soul I found myself constantly overcome with emotion for these two while they struggled and miscommunication their way back to reconciliation. Hearts are broken and people get hurt. This is not a book where everyone gets out free from scars but the end is like a satisfying drink of water when you are parched. Still filled with the humor and quirky cast of characters we have all come to love with the series to help balance out this very emotional read , I loved every second of Desperate Chances.

I am so sad to see this series end but don’t think I could have imaged a better way to wrap it all up. Gracie grabbed my heart in the first book and to see her finally get her HEA was so satisfying. The series as a whole is one I highly recommend to any New Adult lover. A. Meredith Walters is a phenomenal writer and I will forever devour anything she puts out.

Insta-love stories are not for everyone and I don’t love everyone I read but Aurora does them like no one else. She isn’t afraid to go for crazy and for her it really pays off. Her stories are over the top but by mixing the extreme element with characters you love and a plot that moves at a steady pace her books are impossible to put down.

“Nothing is going to happen to you, Ellie. No one is going to get close to you or Hope; you have my word.”

 Ellie and Jax move at lightening speed (like father like son) but never do they feel forced or fake. Ellie is a struggling and broken single mom doing her best to survive after a horrific kidnapping left her almost a sex slave. But Jax was there to rescue her and hasn’t left her side since. And Jax. Oh Jax. You are the cray cray man of my dreams. Alpha to the core he does everything I want my over the top alphas to do and then some. Possessive, protective and unwilling to back down when it’s important he takes control of Ellie and Hope’s lives in order to make sure they never have to struggle again.

“Can we have Skittle pancakes?”

Jax and Hope! Oh how I adored Jax and Hope. Something about a big burly alpha man who cannot say no to a little girl. He melted my heart when he loved her from the beginning and I swooned the entire book at their silly yet endearing interactions. I am a self named alpha-a-holic but give me an alpha male with a weakness for a child and I am in insta-love! The juxtaposition between their tough side, their sexy side and their too sweet for words side has me coming back for more again and again.

“I love this pussy. I love how wet you are. I love how tight it is, I love how I can feel it begging for me to fuck it,”

The best and worst thing about Aurora’s boos is that she sets up future books, I need Sages’ story like I need air for my next breath. Perfectly set up my mouth is watering for more details and I will be stalking her page and group for any inkling I can get. very few people write books I anticipate with such a fury and with each book of her’s I  read Aurora just cements herself on that list.

I am a huge fan of R.S. Grey, her quick wit and amazing storytelling have me constantly coming back for more and more. The Allure Of Dean Harper is by far one of my favorite books she has written. Fun and fast paced it was impossible to stop reading and by the end I had a light happy feeling in my heart.

“Lay back,” “I still don’t forgive you for what you did earlier.” “Maybe you’ll find forgiveness after I’m after with you.” “Never.”

Lily loves the restaurant industry and after moving to New York after culinary and bartending school to love with her best friend Jo, she is ready to make a name for herself in the food world. After landing a job in a new hot spot restaurant she is ready to take on NY head first. One problem, her boss ( and the best friend of her best friend’s boy friend) Dean Harper. Dean is the mean man of my dreams and Lily takes absolutely no shit from him. AHH I loved them so much. Constant bickering banter mixed with instant chemistry and sizzle made for a scorching hot yet hilarious read.

“I had the world to conquer and Lily would only stand in the way of that . . .”

I was so wrapped up in the story and just inherent heat of this book that I didn’t even notice that the sex scenes were not overly graphic and some even fade to black. That says a ton for RS Grey’s ability to write a captivating story that doesn’t just rely on erotic scenes to lure you in. Instead stellar writing, dynamic characters and some of the funniest one liners imaginable to create a book that feels sexy and fun.

“I’d pushed away every distraction that had come my way in the last two years, yet somehow Lily had seeped through the cracks. like a poison. I just had to find the antidote.”

Just taboo enough to peak my interest without being high drama or high angst, The Allure Of Dean Harper is a boss/employee romance that will hook you from the start and make you want to re-read it again and again.

This must be a month of firsts for me, first M/M romance read, first F/F and first M/F/M and Nicole Edwards is breaking almost every one of them, taking me out of my very secure comfort zone with books, as she introduces me to the wonderful and fantastically balanced world of menage relationships and I knew just from the tiny tantalising taste we got of Ashlynn, Jase and Leyton in the previous book that this one was going to be a scorcher. Beautifully Loyal has got to be one of the most sexually charged and stunningly explicit reads I’ve had the privilege to read and that’s taking Priest and Never Say Never into consideration but don’t let the glorious and well versed sex scenes fool you for one second into thinking this is just a gratuitous piece of erotic fiction, because as always Nicole shapes and guides her characters into these incredibly emotionally challenged and flawed people, that as the story unfolds and their boundaries and limits and emotions are tested they come through as these fierce, loyal and shining pseudo-heroes that find safety, a home and love within one another, no matter how complicated or unorthodox it may appear to the outside world and this is all in between running and defending a slightly illegal empire and catching the other bad guys.

‘“Show me what she likes,” Leyton commanded, meeting Jase’s glittering blue eyes.

He was surprised when Jase’s hands wrapped around his, guiding his fingers so that Leyton was pinching Ashlynn’s nipples, rolling them between his thumbs and forefingers. A sweet moan escaped Ashlynn as she ground her ass against his growing erection.

While Jase continued to guide Leyton’s fingers the way he wanted, Jase leaned forward and licked the puckered tip, his eyes locked on Ashlynn’s face.’

It was interesting as a first timer to a threesome relationship to witness the dynamics and to understand the concept of it all, how did jealousy play a part, insecurities or other problems. It was terrific to get background knowledge on the taciturn and illusive Leyton as well as witnessing Ashlynn confront her demons and come to realise the depth and range of emotion that Jase, Leyton and she shared. It was honestly the most romantic, suspenseful, provocative and emotional read I’ve read recently.
