Review
Laila and Ean are fated for each other but after Ean loses one of his charges to the darkness, his guilt and his thoughts of failure end any chance of them being together. But Laila won’t give up, she’s determined to show Ean she’s not as delicate as he thinks and that she is strong enough to stand by her side. But how long will she keep trying to show him? Will Ean push her away for good after he constantly lets her down?
“It is common among humans to see things not as they are, but as what their imaginations perceive them to be. Experiences are romanticized and folklore is created. However, some of these tall tales are not as far-fetched as you might think.”
I have to admit I didn’t love this one as much as the first but it still had me hooked and the romance between the two leads was more enticing, as I really wasn’t sure whether these two would finally end up together! It was filled with on-fire-they-were-so-hot sex scenes, laughter, romance, drama, action and magic which kept me intrigued until the end.
“I can’t give her the focus and dedication that comes with a relationship like that. She’d wind up being unhappy and resenting me. I refuse to drag her down into my personal hell.”
The women in these stories are so kick ass!! They are strong, determined and won’t take sh*t from no man and I absolutely love it! Having a powerful female lead really draws me into the story and Laila was definitely one of the strong leads! She’s determined to show Ean she’s not some delicate flower and I love that she doesn’t give up hope but I also love that she’s strong enough to know when she deserves better. I was rooting for her from the beginning.
“The last knife is shoved into the muscle hanging so precariously and my heart stops beating. I stop living because my world has just been shattered.”
Ean was slightly annoying just because of how stubborn he was being! I wanted to slap him for it and then cuddle him because of the guilt he was feeling at his lost charge. He was annoying adorable though and you couldn’t help but love him and hope he got his head out of his ass to see the perfect woman was standing right in front of him.
“Your regret is misplaced, Ean. You should be regretting how you tarnished this, instead of the fact that it happened. I have no regrets.” Without another glance my way, she leaves, taking my heart with her, leaving me an empty shell.”
The plot wasn’t as exciting as the first but that’s because I loved watching Shaylee being introduced into the Fae world when she had no idea she was one. But that doesn’t mean that this story wasn’t really good! The romance between Ean and Laila was so intense and you really went through the battle of these two trying to be together; it wasn’t easy or quickly resolved; it was tough, heart-breaking and challenging and you are with them every step of the way. I LOVED that we got to connect with the previous characters and some unanswered questions from the first book are answered here. There also seemed to be a bit more action in this one and the battles with the darkness really start to develop and progress!
“You’ll end up alone and miserable, only caring about yourself, about the job, and your anger will consume you, letting darkness in. Without lies, you may not be a Fallen, but still, you won’t be so different from us.”
If you love books about the Fae then hurry up and grab these stories; you won’t be disappointed!

Review
“How about your trouble meets my trouble at the altar tomorrow?”
Oh Casey, Casey, Casey! I do not believe there is a woman alive who would not fall head over heels for this book boyfriend perfection. In this third installment of the Wake series by M. Mabie, Casey and Blake finally get the happily ever after that they have been struggling to find since they first locked eyes in that bar two books ago. This series has made me laugh, made me cry and here at the end it has finally left me with a happy and light feeling in my heart.
‘She tasted like forever.’
Casey and Blake have been through it all and I feel like us the readers have been on this emotional roller coaster right along side of them. If you have been keeping up with the series (and yes they do need to be read in order) than you know the struggles Casey has had since finding the woman he was destined to love. No one ever thinks they will fall for someone else’s partner and at times I was angry and sad over the whole situation but I came out of this book elated at the end they finally came to.
‘In that very second, where I’d thought I’d given my heart to him before, I stood corrected. Because, as a trade for the ring on my hand, I unconditionally gave him my heart and soul.’
M. Mabie is a hell of a writer, maybe one of the best I have read. She has an amazing talent of writing extremely touching and poignant dialogue one moment and raunchy laugh out loud humor the next all the while making you fall in love with the perfect man and the flawed woman he loves.

Title: Swelter
Author: Nina G. Jones
Genre: Erotic Romance
Release Date: October 1, 2015
Synopsis
I married the right brother.
At least that’s what I tell myself at night, when I stare at the ceiling and listen to the rhythm of the grandfather clock down the hall. It never feels like the mere passage of time, but a countdown towards something inevitable.
Bobby Lightly is selfish, irresponsible, and careless. I haven’t seen him since the day I married his brother. He slipped out during the wedding reception without a word.
A year later, I heard Bobby was drafted to Korea. He never said goodbye to anyone. Never sent a letter. We had all come to terms with the fact that he was probably dead somewhere, either a victim of the war or its aftermath.
That is, until in the midst of an unrelenting heatwave, he showed up at the doorstep of the house I lived in with his brother.
Everyone thinks I’m cruel. Everyone thinks I should be easy on him. They think I don’t understand him. They all think I hate him.
But what no one understands is that it was Bobby who broke my heart.
And I think he’s back to do it again.

The dim porch light spotlighted Bobby. I tried not to look, but it only took seconds to fall in. He took a swig out of the long-necked bottle. His sandy brown hair was knotted back carelessly, most of it not long enough to reach the ponytail, so that the locks collapsed in reckless waves. Until his return, I had never seen him like that. The Lightlys always kept their boys clean-cut. He was almost twenty when I saw him last and in those few years he had transformed into a man. His stubble framed a sharp jawline, and only made his roguish smile more mischievous. No one around here dressed or kept their hair like Bobby. And like his fits of quiet, it added to his mystery. Outwardly he would be silent, but quiet Bobby was always the loudest to me. I could almost hear his mind racing with thoughts, a tension that swirled around him like a silent storm. So while he didn’t say a word, I always felt like he was tearing the space apart. I could feel the air pressure change as Bobby raged internally. For all of his yapping growing up, during these silent “fits” was when I felt closest to him.
We didn’t say anything for a minute or so. We used to do this sometimes, when we were teenagers. When Bobby and I weren’t fighting over something, or sometimes just after we did and had exhausted each other, we would just sit together. Sometimes we would talk, other times we wouldn’t.
It seemed Bobby didn’t want to pressure me to talk and so it was me who spoke the first words.
“So is it the heat?”
“Hmm?” he asked.
“Why you can’t sleep.”
“Oh,” he replied, the steady creaking of the porch swing a backtrack to his words. “No, I don’t mind it. I just sleep in the raw.” He winked.
I fought a smile and shook my head at him.
Bobby leaned forward, stopping the swing. The silence this created punctuated his next words. “It’s um . . . before the war I used to sleep like a rock every night. After, well sometimes I do, other nights I don’t.”
“Oh,” I replied, my arms crossed as I kicked at a dry leaf on the floor.
“Want some?” Bobby tipped his beer towards me.
“Oh no, I’m fine.”
“Come on, you’ve always loved some beer.”
“Things change.”
“Oh yes they do,” he leaned back and got to rocking, “but the taste for beer. That never does.” He raised an eyebrow playfully.
I glanced up at the little bugs dancing around the porch light, reminding myself not to become like them.

Butterfly Dreams by A. Meredith Walters Review
5 Smooches!
Synopsis
In a powerful romance for fans of The Fault in Our Stars and If I Stay, New York Times bestselling author A. Meredith Walters tells the story of a troubled young woman and the unforgettable guy who teaches her to live—and love—to the fullest.
She’s waiting to die. . . . Corin Thompson is paralyzed by her obsession with mortality. Having lost both of her parents, she is terrified by the idea that she too will die young, and she loses control at any sign of illness. But when Corin connects with someone who has survived a very real brush with death, she begins to see the world in a whole new way.
He’s learning to live. . . . As Corin struggles under the weight of her neuroses, Beckett Kingsley is attempting to rebuild a life that feels all too temporary. With the ever-present threat of heart failure never far from his mind, he just wants to make the most of whatever time he has left. And that means pursuing the girl he never expected to find.
Together, Corin and Beckett finally learn to let go of their fears and take solace in everyday pleasures. Who knows what the future holds? After all, nothing lasts forever—the only promise they have is right now.
Review
I admit that I am a huge fan of the ugly cry book and while I know they might not be for everyone, I cannot imagine anyone passing up a chance to read one of A. Meredith Walters’ titles. They always get me right in the feels and Butterfly Dreams may have been one of her most heartfelt out there.
“Take it from a man who almost lost everything, you can’t focus on the end. You have to concentrate on what’s right in front of you”
God, I just loved the characters in this book. They are really opposite sides of the spectrum. You have Corin who lost both of her parents very young to cancer so she is basically obsessed with dying and being sick, and Beckett, who almost did die so pretty much wants to live life to its fullest. These two very unique characters meet at a support group meeting for people with heart problems. Beckett has a very serious heart problem that could possibly kill him but quirky and a bit crazy Corin in no way has any heart problems but absolutely thinks she does.
‘If wasn’t careful, I’d end up telling him about the new rash on my ass, or the fact that I currently had sweat dripping between my boobs.’
Ah, Corin. I know that some readers may not love this ridiculously crazy hypochondriac reclusive girl but I fell in love with her. She was magnificently flawed. Her character made me pay attention because she was odd, quirky, and so funny. She gave plenty of good one liners.
“Come on, baby. Squeeze those suckers like a stress ball.”
While Corin’s character was great, let’s not forget about Beckett. Sweet, sexy, and sick Beckett. I was literally on pins and needles this whole book waiting for the ball to drop with his health and I will tell you that there were lots and lots of ugly cries towards the end of this one, but I was happy with the ending. It was really well done and gave me all the feels a girl could want. This book really had it all. It is funny, romantic, steamy, and so heart melting. I just love this woman’s books. I seriously have read almost everything by her and she never lets me down.
“Laugh with me.”
“Dance with me.”
“Smile with me.”
“Live with me.“

“We keep bumping into each other, it seems,” she laughed. The wind was strong and her blonde hair blew into her eyes. She made a face and pulled the strands out of her mouth.
“The fun of living in a small town,” I said. I noticed that she was dressed in tailored black slacks and a cream silk blouse that molded to her breasts. The neck dipped into a modest V. It didn’t reveal anything really. Just the slight hint of cleavage. It certainly wasn’t anything most men would have fixated on. But it was Gracie. And I was Mitch. So I couldn’t help myself from staring at the smooth skin of her chest.
She lifted her hair and draped it over her shoulder, revealing the long, graceful curve of her neck.
She tasted like strawberries and sweat. My tongue glided up the column of her throat and I wanted to devour her.
All of her.
She moaned deep and low in the back of her throat. I lifted her leg and hitched it over my hip. She was just the right angle to go deep. I slid inside of her again. Even though I had just come, I was already hard for her again. She was wet, so fucking wet. There was no resistance as I thrust into her.
“Mitch,” she whispered, her voice raw, her eyes needy. I covered her mouth with mine as I buried myself to the hilt inside of her perfect, wet warmth.
She repeated my name over and over as I began to move my hips. She rose up to meet each push. It was a litany. A prayer. We came together.
Together.
Always together.
“Hello. Earth to Mitch,” Gracie called out, wiggling her fingers in front of my face.
Damn. I had a hard on. This was the problem with looking at her. Blue balls and mortification.
“Sorry, my mind’s somewhere else.” I blinked a few times and tried to think of dead kittens and naked grandmas. Anything to get rid of thestraining bulge in my pants.

Review
‘But I knew one thing for certain. Our friendship was over. Even worse was that the second he walked away I knew that I had lost something so much more. I had lost my heart.’
Desperate Chances is a book I have been very eagerly awaiting. The fourth book in the Bad Rep series we not only get the story of two characters I have loved since meeting them in the first book, Gracie and Mitch but we also get tidbits and wrap ups of the other three couples. While this could easily and enjoyably be read as a standalone you will find a extra layer and depth to these two characters if you have read the other three books as well.
‘I missed Gracie and Mitch. Mitch and Gracie. The two people who had been friends first and lovers later. We hadn’t always been healthy or functional, but we were an us. And that mattered more than anything else.’
Gracie is a recovering alcoholic and anorexic who up until a year ago was surviving with the help of her best friend, Mitch. One heat filled night of passion led her to question everything and ultimately push the one person who knew her best and loved her the most away. Mitch has loved Gracie since meeting her but between her recovery and learning to survive the hectic chaos of band life he had gotten placed in a friend zone. The two were as close as two friends could be but now after their one night of passion they haven’t spoken in a year and both are still just struggling to survive. Mitch has moved on and has a new girlfriend, Sophie and Gracie realized all too late that all she wants and needs in life is Mitch.
‘Gracie Cook made me feel out of control. She made me feel wild and crazy. She was the drug I couldn’t get enough of. And going cold turkey had been the only way to survive.’
Mitch and Gracie’s story was a hard one but oh so satisfying. A friends to lovers story with so much heart and soul I found myself constantly overcome with emotion for these two while they struggled and miscommunication their way back to reconciliation. Hearts are broken and people get hurt. This is not a book where everyone gets out free from scars but the end is like a satisfying drink of water when you are parched. Still filled with the humor and quirky cast of characters we have all come to love with the series to help balance out this very emotional read , I loved every second of Desperate Chances.
“This is what it felt like to be on fire. To be consumed from the inside out.”
I am so sad to see this series end but don’t think I could have imaged a better way to wrap it all up. Gracie grabbed my heart in the first book and to see her finally get her HEA was so satisfying. The series as a whole is one I highly recommend to any New Adult lover. A. Meredith Walters is a phenomenal writer and I will forever devour anything she puts out.
