Excerpt
Over his shoulder, I see Darren stepping out. He’s watching us, a curious frown on his face. When he sees the urgency in my eyes, he slows his strides. He’s waiting for me. Thank God!
“I don’t have time right now,” I reply curtly. When I attempt to walk away, his grip on my arm tightens.
“I guess I wasn’t clear. Let me rephrase.” His dark gaze holding mine, he says curtly, “Follow me, Miss Hart. I have something I need to discuss with you.”
This time, he doesn’t wait for me to answer. Turning, he begins walking away with me in tow. Twisting my head around, I search frantically for Darren. He’s still standing where I left him, staring after us with a helpless look on his face. I gesture for him to help, but he lifts his arms, shrugging as if he doesn’t know what to do.
Before I know it, I’m being whisked into an empty boardroom. With only one window and one door that serve as both an entrance and an exit, we’re completely closed off from the rest of the building. My heart is pounding erratically inside my chest as Rebel pushes the door shut behind us and turns the lock.
Standing with my back pressed against one of the chairs, my breath catches as Rebel turns and stalks toward me. “You haven’t returned my calls.”
An absurd urge to laugh overcomes me. For this to be the first thing out of his mouth speaks volumes. It means between us, I’m the one with the upper hand. Folding my arms over my chest, I look him straight in the eyes. “That’s because I changed my number.” It was the first thing I did after receiving those pictures.
Narrowing his eyes, Rebel closes the distance between us, forcing me to tip my head back to maintain eye contact. “Then give it to me.”
“Oh, sure. No problem. It’s 419-Go-Fuck-Yourself.”
With a movement that’s too quick to register, Rebel grabs a hold of my face and squeezes, tearing a startled gasp from my lips. “Was that a request?”
“More like a suggestion,” I reply, my words slurring from the inability to speak properly through pinched together lips.
“Hmm, well, I have a better suggestion.” Shoving the chair I’m leaning against away, he backs me into the table and, using my face as leverage, bends me backwards until I’m laid out flat on the hard wood.
With his free hand, Rebel gathers my skirt and pushes it roughly up to my hips, then parts my thighs with his, insinuating himself between them. Lowering his face to within inches from mine, he growls, “How about instead of standing here listening to you run your mouth I peel your panties off right here, stuff you full of my cock, and fuck you against this table until the only thing you can use that mouth for is screaming my name?”
Without wasting a second, Rebel’s mouth crashes down on mine, stealing my words, stealing my breath, and stealing my wits. Without another thought in my head, I open my mouth and my legs to him and begin to sink, a willing victim to his spell.

Review
“In wine there is truth. Only here, there are only lies and deceptions.”
God, Mia Sheridan. What you do to me. Your books just take me to somewhere special and I literally get lost in that world and before I know it, it’s one a.m. and I am completely done with a book that feels like I just started it. Mia’s books capture me, transport me, and enchant me. They are ALL brilliant.
Now I definitely have some favorites of Mia’s and I am happy to report that Grayson’s Vow is no doubt among my favorites. This story was just so unexpected. It had a little of everything. At times it was dark, and then it would be histerically funny, and the next so very very full of angst and feelings. I can honestly say that I think this story has a little something for everyone, even lovers of fairy tales, because this book has it’s very own witch and dragon. 😉
Kira is the queen of schemes and harebrained ideas. Well, she is in trouble, so she approaches Grayson and they strike a deal that will help the both of them. But it doesn’t take long for their business arrangement to turn into more.
‘When I made lover to her, I wanted it always to be in light so I could see the flames in her hair, the glow of her emerald eyes. I wanted to see all the ways in which her body proclaimed she was life itself, full of heat and passion.’
OK, so one of the most amazing things about this story were the two main characters. I loved them so much. See, they are really complete opposites. They both had pretty sad and awful upbringings but they took each different routes on how to handle it. Grayson is dark, brooding, and so very adult while Kira is almost childlike. She likes to race and play games and pretend and have fun. And one of my absolute favorite things in this book was seeing her bring Grayson around to her way of thinking. Races on stair rails, drunken tree shanningans, and tractor dancing all made me fall in love with Kira right along with Grayson. How could he not? She embodies everything that he never got to experience as a child. Seeing him be childlike with her was really one of the most amazing things about this story.

And Kira, watching her fall in love with this magical house with its own maze and vineyard along with Grayson’s make shift family just made me smile. Grayson’s “family” is hilarious and meddlesome and absolutely adorable. Kira has to overcome her own insecurities before she finally lets go with Grayson but she when she does, it is magical.
‘My knight in shining armor standing in front of that bank, the promise that he would save me, and I, him, flowing through my heart like a secret whisper.’
These two had so much to overcome in this novel; their tragic past, a failing business, and Kira’s family. But all through this novel, there is the underlying hope that everything will be ok. Grayson’s Vow really did read like a modern day fairy tale for me. The writing was amazing as is usual with Mia Sheridan and while some will say that this storyline has been done before I say so what?…. I bet that hasn’t been done THIS WELL!

“Have you thought about me?” I ask. “Since last night at the show? Because I’ve thought about you.”
“What did you think about me? That I’m your next victim?”
“No, actually.” I smooth down the blanket on the ground of the shed and then step towards her, taking her face in my hands and pulling her tight against my chest. “I’ve thought about your hot breath as you panted against my cock when I was standing on your chair. I pulled the heavy wood door underneath the stairs open and entered the wine cellar. The walls were lined with custom shelving, filled top to bottom with an assortment of different wine bottles, the scent of the cedar heavy in the air.
I stopped short.
Jamie? What the hell was he doing in here?
“You following me, hot stuff?” he said with a practiced smile.
“Of course not! I just came to get my salad from the fridge. What’re you doing here?” I propped my hands on my hips, irritated once again to be forced into such close proximity to him.
“Same.” He nodded toward the fridge he was holding open. “I brought some dip.” He closed the door and leaned against it with his arms crossed over his chest. The way his muscles bunched drew my eyes to them. He pushed up and stalked toward me.
It wasn’t warm in here, but I suddenly felt like I was overheating, as if I was still out in the summer sun. As he moved closer, I backed up into one of the shelves, the tops of the bottles pressing into my back.
Finally, he came to a stop mere inches away. “Don’t you think it’s about time we addressed whatever’s going on between us?”
I guffawed. “There’s nothing going on between us.”
His gray eyes narrowed. “That’s bullshit and you know it. Why would you follow me in here otherwise?” Reaching out, he ran a finger down from the base of my throat, dragging it slowly over my heated skin to the juncture of my cleavage, then let his hand drop.
I didn’t stop him. Why didn’t I stop him?
I suppressed a small shiver and fought the urge to close my eyes, instead pinning him with a glare.
