Synopsis

New York’s Finest
Blogging as *The Socialmedialite*
April 22
LADIES AND GENTS! I have an announcement!

You know that guy I featured on my blog a few months ago? The really, really hot Irish rugby player who plays the position of ‘hooker’ in the RLI (Rugby League International)? The one with the anger management issues, the body of a gladiator and the face of a movie star? The one with the questionable fashion choices leading me to ask whether he was the lovechild of a leprechaun and a hobbit? Ronan Fitzpatrick? Yeah, that guy.

Well, I have a confession to make…

THE HERMIT

Annie Catrel, social media expert extraordinaire at Davidson & Croft Media and clandestine celebrity blogger, can make anyone shine in the court of public opinion. She is the Socialmedialite, anonymous creator of New York’s Finest and the internet’s darling. Virtual reality is Annie’s forte, but actual reality? Not so much.

THE HOOKER

Ronan Fitzpatrick, aka the best hooker the world of rugby has seen in decades, despises the media—social or otherwise. The press has spun a web of lies depicting him as rugby’s wild and reckless bad boy. Suspended from his team, Ronan has come to Manhattan to escape the drama, lay low, fly under the radar. Only, Ronan isn’t easy to overlook, and he can’t escape the notice of the Socialmedialite…

THE PLAN

When Ronan is sent to Davidson & Croft Media to reshape his public image, he never expects to cross paths with shy but beautiful Annie, nor does he expect his fierce attraction to her. He couldn’t be happier when her boss suggests pairing them together.
What lengths will Annie take to keep her virtual identity concealed? And what happens when the hooker discovers who the hermit really is?

The Hooker and the Hermit is a collaboration between authors L.H. Cosway and Penny Reid, is a full length 100k word novel, and is a standalone.

Review

Some strange, long dormant, and heavily suppressed instinct urged me to run back to the restaurant and wrap him in my arms. My heart gave a little twist. I wanted to kiss away his hurts . . . or at least make his hurts some cookies.”

Ever read one of those books that is so smart, witty, fun and fascinating that you just about basically highlight the whole damn thing. I already knew that Penny was a must read for me but I am excited to add L.H. Cosway to that list now too! Hooker and the Hermit was a beautiful collaboration when so often these joining of styles can go very wrong.

“Holy heathen in hell, it wasn’t even his looks. He was . . . overwhelming and magnetic. Sensual and in-your face sexual. Also not helping matters, he has no concept of personal space.”

Annie is a hot shot social media guru who prefers to blend in and work alone. While in the outside world she appears shy, unassuming and a loner, inside her apartment she lives a secret life as The Socialmedialite! As a anonymous celebrity blogger she has the power to say what she wants and not hold back. She allows her true self to shine online. She is unashamed and open online. She has friends and followers and it is clear that there is so much more to her than she allows the outward world to see.

“There was something about her timidity that appealed to me on a very base level. I could just imagine how easily she’d . . . submit”

Ronan is in need of a social media makeover and comes to Annie’s company for a media face-lift. Upon meeting meek Annie he demands she work with him and decides this mouse of a woman is just right for the cat in him. I loved so much about Ronan, he exuded sexuality and watching him flirt shamelessly with all business Annie got me way too excited. I can only hope that a man can watch me eat an éclair and get excited the way Ronan does! Also, let’s all hope that the man in question is my husband! Just saying, I would hate for this book to be the cause for the demise of my marriage.

“I noticed that Annie was still insisting on addressing me formally, but I wasn’t going to let it get to me. Truth be told, her calling me Mr. Fitzpatrick was a bit of a turn-on.”

These two characters together created magic, while Annie appears to be quiet and unassuming when it comes to Ronan she can also be snarky and flirty. She knows her professional boundaries and is determined to keep them there along with all the walls that she has built up from her messed up childhood. Walls that Ronan has made it his mission to tear down.

“You never have to ask permission. Okay? Not unless I’m fucking you – then you always ask permission.”

So for much of the book I got the feeling that Ronan was sexually a bit dominate, mostly just in the sense that you can tell he likes to be in control. Well imagine my surprise when things took a slight turn for the kink. I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING but oh geez was I happy it did. Could a handsome alpha Irish rugby player get any sexier  . . . yes yes he indeed can. It might be possible that Ronan and all his excitedly kinkiness have ruined me for all other hookers!

“I was a kinky fucker, simple as that.”

Truth! And Ronan I loved you for it!

“Yesterday I was comatose, heartbroken and depressed beyond measure. Now I couldn’t stop grinning as I punched my fist into the air in victory. Yeah, that right, I just victory-punched, but-naked in the shower.”

From the storyline to the characters to the witty writing so much went right with this book that I don’t even know how to summarize it in one review. If you are a fan of quirky girls, alpha and a bit of fun kinkery than make sure you give this book a go. Trust me to say you won’t be let down.

“Ronan Fitzpatrick was fucking me, and it was uncomfortable and ungraceful and sexy as hell.”

So the all important question that this book raises is can a blogger and an incredibly sexy Irish rugby player with alpha tendencies have a steaming hot yet emotionally fulfilling relationship . . . I dunno but this blogger is more than happy to help find out!

“I was in love with her. And I was fucked.”

Ronan and Annie have that perfect balance along with unbelievable chemistry that has you melting and desperate for more. The worst part of this book was the part where it says The End!

And the only person interested in keeping her safe is the one man she can’t allow herself to have.

Sometimes being bold is the only way to stay alive. But can she let Race save her life . . . if it means losing herself to him?

Review

“To keep Race and those traitorous feelings at bay, I was awful to him . . .I mean really, really awful. I was cold. I was disinterested. I was rude, and sometimes I was flat out mean.”

Can I just say how much I LOVED Brysen and Race. Brysen is Race’s middle ground in my opinion. She comes from right between the Hill where Race was raised and the Point where he has decided to make his home. To say they are attracted to each other would be a VAST understatement but Brysen knows that Race is BAD and TROUBLE and pushes him away at every chance she can. That is till he saves her and pulls her out of a party where someone opened fire.

“You’re the only one I was worried about.”

In the face of danger emotions get out of control and Brysen allows Race to kiss her and from there on out they can’t turn back. But where does a smart, intelligent middle-class girl like Brysen fit into Race’s life in a place like The Point.

“I kissed him back. It wasn’t romantic, it wasn’t sweet and filled with tangible longing or loving care. It was brutal, violent, hard and hot, and nothing in my entire life has ever felt better.”

What I love most about the men of The Point is that they are not good guys, they do bad things to get by and have no regrets in the end. Race is running a crime empire and someone out there is showing him up by causing trouble all over the place and that trouble seems to always involve Brysen. Rae knows something is different about this girl and feels incredibly protective over her.

“What is going on with you, Brysen? Why does every single thing you’ve said to me tonight make me want to hurt things and various people?”

When it becomes evident that neither can really control their feelings around each other they have to decide if they care enough to withstand the crime and drama that comes with a place like The Point. Brysen isn’t sure she can live a life where the man she cares for does bad things and puts himself in danger everyday and Race is not willing to give up the standing he has worked and sacrificed so much to achieve.

“You think you are going to single-handedly pull the Point out of the fire, Race?”  “No. But I do think I can control the burn,”

Often in books the man is either the Good Guy Hero or the bad man you love. What Jay does so well is mixing the two, the men of The Point don’t apologize for the things they do nor are they willing to stop doing them but still somehow you cannot help but see the good in them, Even if sometimes that good is hidden behind layers of illegal activity and questionable decisions.

“”Brysen Carter was a good girl. A pretty blonde from the right side of town, but, man, could she kiss like a dirty girl,”

The Welcome to the Point series is so different than The Marked Men series that Jay is famous for but no less captivating and fun. The stories are exciting and fast paced with just the right touch of a sexy anti-hero and a good girl willing to go a little bad for the man she loves. Jay Crownover always delivers characters you can love and a story you want to jump into!

“This” — he pointed between him and me as he pulled open the car door — “is happening.”

With just two books out, This series it is quickly establishing itself as a must mead and a top recommendation for me! I can’t wait to get dirty again with the next man from The Point!

“It isn’t always easy. You aren’t always easy, but I have yet to regret any of it, Race.”

Weston is a well-liked star athlete, and the son of two prominent attorneys. He struggles daily with the pressures of living up to his family name and secretly empathizes with Easter’s feeling that she belongs somewhere else; in a different life. Not until he begins sneaking nights out with Easter does he gain the courage to buck expectations and acknowledge his feelings … both for his future, and for her.

A shocking tragedy rocks the tiny town, and Easter’s life is turned upside down in the best way possible. But when the truth is revealed and everything she thinks she wanted falls into her lap, life only becomes more complicated.

The truth shall set you free.

My name is Calla Price and I’m drowning.

My new world is a dark, dark ocean and I’m being pulled under by secrets.

Can I trust anyone? I don’t know anymore.

The lies are spirals. They twist and turn, binding me with their thorns and serpentine tongues. And just when I think I have it figured out, everything is pulled out from under me.

I’m entangled in the darkness.

But the truth will set me free.

It’s just ahead of me, so close I can touch it. But even though it shines and glimmers, it has glistening fangs and I know it will shred me.

Are you scared?

I am.

Excerpt:

Together, we float to the surface, still intertwined. We break through the top and I suck in a breath and Dare is staring into my eyes.

There’s tension here, but not the bad kind. It’s the kind that ignites you, the kind that intoxicates you, the kind that once you taste it, you’ll crave for the rest of your life.

I’ve forgotten that I was going to be careful, that I was going to reject him on every level.

All I can remember, all I can focus on, is how veryalive Dare DuBray is making me feel in this moment, how alive he always makes me feel.

For a girl who has been surrounded by death her entire life, this is a very big deal.

“I’m a little afraid of you,” I blurt honestly, and Dare still has his arms around me. Our treading water motions keep our legs rubbing together, the friction still there.

Hot,

Hot,

Hotter.

Dare smiles, but there is no humor in it.

“Good.”

“Why?”

My honesty makes me seem innocent, but I don’t know how to play games. I have no experience with the opposite sex at all.

“Because that makes you feel something.”

But he’s hesitant now and he looks away. There’s something he wants to say, it’s balanced on the tip of his tongue, but he swallows it.

“What is it?” I ask softly. “Just tell me.”

He wants to, I can tell. His secrets are killing him. He just wants to be normal, he’s just acting out a role.

I don’t know why I feel like I know this. It’s just there, suddenly resting on my heart.

“You don’t have to be someone you’re not,” I murmur quietly. His dark eyes snap up to mine and he pulls his hands away. There’s something in his eyes now, something guarded, and our easy afternoon has come to an end.

“What makes you think I am?” he snaps. “Pretending to be something I’m not, I mean.”

I’ve somehow annoyed him, and I don’t answer because I don’t know what to say.

“I’m not being someone I’m not, Calla,” he says coolly as he strides from the water. “I’m being who you need me to be.”

I’m utterly confused, and I’m dripping wet.

“We don’t have towels,” is all he says when I follow him. My clothing soaks up the water and it is a very cold ride back home.

Dare doesn’t say another word and I leave him in the garage.

I don’t see him at dinner, and I don’t see him the rest of the night.

But as I lay in bed around midnight, I see his car leave the garage.

I don’t see him come home, and I’m awake for half the night waiting.

I have no idea where he goes when he slips away.

Somehow, I think he wants it that way.

There’s a fork in the road and even though I see it, I can’t avoid it.

One road goes left, one goes right, and neither of them end well.

I feel it in my bones,

In my bones,

In my bones.

I sing a song of nonsense, and it sings back. The notes echo and twist in the air, and I swallow them whole.

“Come out,” I call behind me, because I know they’re there.

I can’t see them, but they’re always watching.

Eyes appear, blood red, and they blink once, twice, three times.

“I can see you,” I announce and there’s a growl and then I’m crushed beneath the dark, beneath the weight, beneath the oppression.

“You don’t scare me,” I lie.

There’s savagery here, there’s grace.

But above all, there’s oblivion and no matter what I do, I will be sucked into it.

I know it.

I feel it.

I’m crazy.

And it doesn’t matter.

I’m the rabbitrabbitrabbit and I’ll never be free.

Synopsis

Theodore Rosely.

Handsome. Intelligent. Wealthy.

Great in bed with the body of a Greek God.

Just the mention of my name has women dropping their panties.

I’m one of the city’s most eligible bachelors and women line up just to get a taste of me. I work hard to make millions during the day, and play hard at night.

Frumpy, overweight and average-looking is not my type. I like beautiful, thin women with tight bodies and an even tighter- well, you know what I’m getting at.

That’s why the mysterious woman from my health club who swims laps every morning should not hold my interest. She’s the exact opposite of what turns me on, yet I can’t take my eyes off her.

She’s intriguing… She’s fascinating… And she’s quickly becoming my obsession.

I can’t learn enough about her.

I’m used to getting exactly what I want…

…and now I want her.

Check out our review HERE!

Prologue

Entry #1715

If I were able to define beauty it would be simple. I’d just have to say her name. The way she smiles at the simplest of things, or the way she crinkles her nose when she doesn’t like something. There’s beauty in her laugh, her love of children, her kindness towards others, and her painful past full of despair and heartache. The pain she hides from the rest of the world is the most beautiful of all. It makes me want to protect her until my last breath. If the world got to see what I see every day, she would no longer be just mine. Every man who was lucky enough to be in her presence would want her.

“Can I get you anything else, sir?”

The fasten seat belt light flickers off, letting me know that it’s okay to move around the plane cabin after the long stretch of turbulence ends. I stand up, stretching my legs out in front of my first class seat. There are two hours left on this eight-hour flight to London and I’m already itching to get back to Chicago.

“No, thanks,” I reply, brushing past the petite woman and making my way to the small lavatory located in first class. It’s unoccupied so I squeeze myself inside and lock the door behind me.

After relieving myself of the several cups of coffee I’ve consumed on the flight, I zip up my pants and wash my hands in the tiny sink, briefly glancing at my appearance in the mirror.

The man staring back at me looks worn out and fucking old as shit.

I’ve noticed the subtle changes in my appearance these past couple weeks and at first I thought I was going crazy. I was convinced I was seeing things that weren’t there, but when the first few gray hairs started to appear near my temples, I couldn’t pretend to imagine it anymore. The stress of everything having to do with her has made me age.

I hate leaving her, even for these little trips where I’m gone for less than forty-eight hours. Although I’ve hired the best team around, I don’t trust the care she’s under. If I’m not there to supervise the daily schedule, I live in fear that someone will make a mistake or mess up, and I’ll be forced to live the rest of my life without her.

A life without her is not a life I’m willing to live.

I press down on the faucet and cup my hands, letting them fill with water before splashing my face. The cool water is refreshing against my skin, and in an odd way makes me feel slightly better and more awake. As I’m drying my face there is a knock on the lavatory door. I toss the paper towel in the garbage and unlock the door, ready to go back to my seat but instead someone walks in.

“Are you sure there’s nothing else I can do for you, sir?” the eager flight attendant asks. I’ve always had this effect on women and even though I look the worst I’ve ever appeared, apparently women still want me.

She’s looking up at me, her eyes coated in heavy make-up. She can’t be older than twenty. Her button up flight attendant top is open, revealing her perky, young breasts and while her offer might have been something I would have considered a while back, it’s no longer a desire of mine when I’m in the right mindset.

She clicks the lock behind her and moves towards me in the confined space. The small toilet is pushing against the back of my legs so I have nowhere to move. Her firm chest brushes against mine as the palm of her hand slides against my stomach and lowers to the front of my trousers. She rubs the small palm of her hand up and down, attempting to get a reaction from my cock. I’m too stunned at the moment to stop her, too tired to think straight.

“I can be very helpful,” she offers.

She undoes the button of my pants and slowly unzips them, lowering them past my hips. She places her delicate hands over my cock again and begins to stroke me over my boxer briefs.

It’s been so long since I’ve been touched. I can’t remember ever going this long without my dick receiving some kind of attention from the opposite sex. I need to stay focused. I need to remember why I’m here, why I’m on this plane. I run on a strict schedule. I like my detailed to-do lists and today’s list is an easy one. There are just four simple steps.

*Go to London

*Sign the necessary paperwork needed at my business meeting

*Get my ass back on the plane to Chicago

*Go see my girl and make sure those incompetent assholes don’t fuck up while I’m away

I’ll be home in less than forty-eight hours. I can get through forty-eight fucking hours.

As I’m repeating the words over in my head I almost forget about the young woman in front of me until I feel my cock stir to life. Warmth spreads through my body and the desire to fuck something so I can come suddenly takes over my thoughts.

I look down at my dick but can only see the fiery, red hair of the flight attendant as she pulls my boxers down and devours my cock with her mouth.

Fuck me. That feels incredible.

I forgot how nice a soft set of lips and a warm mouth can feel around my cock.

As soon as I think it, a visual of the argumentative, fun-loving brunette I love pops into my head and I groan in agony instead of satisfaction. The redhead takes this as encouragement and she gently bites down on my long, hard length before dragging her teeth up to the head and sucking the tip. As great as it feels, I’m forced to push her off of me. She falls back against the door and I quickly zip myself back up while looking at her stunned face.

She’s pretty, gorgeous really, but she’s not her. No one will ever come close to her.

“That was sweet of you to offer, but I’m afraid I’m a one woman man.”

“I can be discreet. No one will know,” she whispers huskily.

“And I don’t like repeating myself. You’re a young woman who probably has more to offer a man than a blowjob in the lavatory of first class. You should focus on your job, while I focus on getting back in my seat. Excuse me.”

I gesture towards the door and wait for her to stand up and adjust her clothing. She unlocks it and steps out of the small, enclosed space. I follow behind her to go back to my seat. The large leather seat is comfortable and I recline back, shutting my eyes to try and forget what just happened.

Forty-eight hours. I just need to get through the next forty-eight hours.

Review

“Why the hell am I hiding behind a towel rack stalking a woman I don’t know, and who is most definitely not my type?”

This story is the first part in a serial from Justine Elvira and I can honestly say it has a ton of potential. The entire story is told from Theo’s point of view and is mostly about the curvy woman at his health club that he has been infatuated with, They swim next to each other everyday and although she is rounder and not as strikingly beautiful as he usually goes for he cannot get her out of his head. He even goes as far as to change his entire daily schedule just to be near her for a while longer.

“I had no idea how long I watched her that day, but I knew I should stop. This was becoming unhealthy”

Something is up with Theo and I need to know more. That is the basically how the end of this story left me feeling which I guess is appropriate for a serial. I can’t tell if something is off mentally with him or he is somehow damaged from strained relationships with his family but something has left him slightly off and just need to know! Since this book is told from his point of view a ton of it is his inner dialogue, giving us a taste of his crazy without divulging too much

.”You see. I’m sick. Maybe . . . Probably . . Slightly disturbed. Paging the nearest Psych ward.”

Overall, this was a fast and crazy glimpse into a almost stalker/obsessed mans brain and I am excited to see more of where this will go!

tag17Sexy, tattooed and inevitably dangerous. Memphis is all that and more…

I live for the pain; it’s what drives me to keep moving. But there comes a time when one has to push the demons aside in order to survive.

I thought I buried them deep. I thought I was ready to finally live. Until… my brother, Alex; he throws me into the fire—right into the place I could never control myself, the one place I never want to be again.

When I put my hands on people, they get hurt. Things happen that bring me back to that night. The one that will forever torment me.

I’m doing fine, keeping to myself in order to ensure no one gets hurt by me. Then along comes Lyric, and all I want to do is touch her, to put my hands in places that I know will only lead to her being crushed by me.

She’s the rush that I crave. The darkest of poison running through my veins, killing me bit by bit; like a drug I can’t get enough of even though I’m almost down to my last breath.

And being around her only hurts more, but what she doesn’t understand is that I welcome the pain; I get off on it, which in the end leaves me with the hardest decision of my life—one that might get us all killed…

Ever since she came into my life, standing there behind me on the porch that day, I knew she would be hard to forget. From her messy, caramel hair and pouty lips, to the fire in her big, green eyes, I knew she was going to test me unlike anyone else ever has. I could tell she was a fighter just like me.

The only thing I need right now is to get out of my head and away from the woman beside me.

“Go inside, Lyric. I’ll wait here until you get in.”

She looks over at me from the passenger seat, one hand on the door handle. She’s not letting me go so easily. I can see it in her expression. “You’re not going home?”

I turn away and look straight ahead, refusing to look at her. If I do – I’ll cave in. I’ve already done that enough with her. It needs to stop. “No. I can’t be there right now. You really don’t need to worry about it. Now go. Goodnight.”

She takes her hand off the handle and pulls her seatbelt back on. “Good, because I don’t feel like going home either.” She nods her head toward the road. “Let’s go.”

“No,” I say firmly. “Just go inside.”

“Why not? What is the big deal? What is so wrong with taking me along and getting to know me? I’m not asking you for anything other than company. It’s a big fucking world and it sucks being in it alone.”

I let out a slow, deep breath and finally look over at her. She needs to see that I’m a fucking monster. I ruin lives and it will be no different with her. “Because I don’t want you around me when I’m drinking. I’m working hard here to keep my fucking hands off you. If I get fucked out of my mind… I’m going to want to fuck you and once I fuck you, the game changes. You don’t want that. Trust me.”

She nervously runs her hands through her hair and looks at my lips, swallowing. “You don’t know shit about what I want. Maybe I’m not as innocent as you think. Now can we go? It doesn’t look like Bailey is home anyways. I don’t feel like sitting home alone.”

She always does this to me. I don’t get why she is so hard to get rid of. She’s pushing me and I can only hold off for so long before I fuck her senseless and pull her into my dark world; a place she doesn’t belong. “Just keep your distance from me. If your friends are there then you hang out with them. Okay?”

I look over at her when she doesn’t respond. “Okay, Lyric? I need you to understand and stay away? Say it.”

She looks up at me with fire in her eyes. She’s not happy with being told what to do. Another thing I like about her. Well fuck me. “Fine. I get it. Let’s just go,” she says stiffly.GOOTP RDB pic

**This is Part One of a multiple installment serial.

Review

“There are better, more gratifying ways to release your aggression.”

Seeing as how this was a surprise release I basically went into this book blind, hadn’t even seen a cover for it yet and although I knew Anie was a great writer I have fallen for this story and these intriguing characters. Often with serials, even my favorite ones the first volumes are not 5 star reads for me, mostly because you are just getting to know the story and characters so often although I enjoy them I am not fully hooked till volume two. Not the case with Private Affairs, I was hooked from the start and desperate to get the next installment!

“Was staying with him this long, suffering through what seems like a loveless marriage, really worth the money you’re fighting for now?”

Private Affairs is the story of Lena, a housewife coming to  terms with the fact that her husband has completely given up on them having a “real” marriage, and Preston, the private investigator Lena hires to get the proof she needs so she doesn’t leave this marriage worst off than she came into it. I liked Lena from the start, she really gave her marriage a shot but when secrets come out and she finally realizes that the man she loved and married is not who she always thought she was she decides to move forward with her life and in doing so hires the services of Private Investigator and beautifully alpha Preston. Preston is everything I look for in a book boyfriend, protective, a bit demanding, a bit of a dirty talker and not afraid to claim what is his.

“I hadn’t been touched by a man in months, and being touched by Preston was proving to be the most heavenly experience of my life, even if it was just his hands on my cheeks.”

This fist part of Private Affairs proves that this has potential to be a incredibly sexy and exciting story. I am beyond anxious to get the next volume so that I can find out more about what happens to these two characters I have quickly become very attached to!
