If A Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever. But what if he didn’t love you, first?

No-nonsense Liis Lindy is an agent of the FBI. Deciding she is married only to her job, she breaks off her engagement and transfers from Chicago to the field office in San Diego. She loves her desk. She is committed to her laptop. She dreams of promotions and shaking hands with the director after cracking an impossible case.

Special Agent in Charge Thomas Maddox is arrogant, unforgiving, and ruthless. He is tasked with putting away some of the world’s toughest criminals, and he is one of the best the Bureau has to offer. Though, as many lives as he’s saved, there is one that is beyond his reach. Younger brother Travis is faced with prison time for his involvement in a basement fire that killed dozens of college students, and the media want a conviction. Travis’s only savior is his unusual tie to the mob. In a deal that will spare his brother, Thomas has agreed to recruit Travis into the FBI.

Liis is stubborn, defiant, and yet somehow softens Thomas’s rough edges, making her the perfect agent to accompany him to the ceremony. Posing as a couple, they must travel to Travis & Abby’s beach vow renewal and give him the news, but when the pretending ends, she finds herself wondering if they were pretending at all.

In the second installment of the Maddox Brothers books, experience firsthand the mysterious world of the elusive Thomas Maddox, and how good love can be when you’re not the first, but the last.

EXCERPT

“Me,

too. I’m … Thomas, by the way,” he said softly. He rolled over and relaxed

beside me, his head propped by his hand. Instead of getting dressed, he looked

as if he were ready for conversation.

I pressed my lips together. “I’m,” Do it. Do it or you’ll just be kicking

yourself later. “…emotionally unavailable.”

***

“I

live in Midtown,” I said, wondering if I would see my neighbor again.

She

grinned. “Me, too. A lot of us do. We can drown your sorrows together.”

“I

don’t have sorrows. Just memories. They’ll go away on their own.”

***

He

narrowed his eyes. “Are you insubordinate, Agent Lindy? Is that why you were

sent here, to be under my command?”

“You

requested me, remember?”

“I

didn’t request you. I requested the best language expert we had.”

“That

would be me, sir.”

Review

I am not usually a fan of second books about the same couple once I have gotten my HEA but let’s face it, Blake and Layla had a lot of things that needed resolved after their book was over.  There were a ton of questions that I was hoping would be answered in future books in this series but they never were.  Like:  what happened the night of Axelle’s conception exactly?  Who is her father?  Would Blake ever get his situation with his family and father resolved.  There were a lot of loose ends that needed tying up as well as the birth of their child and this book answered all my questions and gave me so many mushy feels!

This is what life is all about.  It’s these moments, these few hours of euphoric joy that make up for years and years of torture.  Love.  Love is what makes the pain of the fight so worth it.

Gosh, I missed Blake’s ridiculous, hilarious, and sexy behind.  The man is just so perfect and he made me laugh right away this go around.

“Don’t care if he’s a doctor.  Pussy’s pussy, and not a straight guy alive isn’t turned on when he sees one.”

“You did not just say ‘pussy’s pussy.”

The sexy scenes between him and Layla were smoking hot and their story was a tender and sweet one.  You get some insight into Mason and his mood changes and I am hoping this means we get his book next.  EEK!  It would be pretty sweet if we got a book with Braeden in it as well!

101 Ways to Make Love to a Spoon

Exclusive Excerpt:

Light spills down his lower half, illuminating the inverted V of his legs, planted in the middle of the passage as solid as Roman columns. My stomach twists. His shoulders and face remain in the shadows, but I’ve seen enough to know. It’s Jett. I could tell by the challenging look on his face earlier, he’s ready for round two—like a boxer bouncing up and down in the corner of the ring. I brush off my hands and start walking toward the cross-armed brick wall. A smile curls into the corners of my mouth. All right, frat boy. Bring it on.

As I draw closer, I see light cutting against the hollowed slope of his cheek. His lips are seamed into a tight line, and his eyes are a kaleidoscope of deep blues. Clearly I’ve struck a nerve with Mr. Perfect. I suppose he’s not used to a woman dealing him into the game and then trouncing him. My feet plant in front of him. I raise my chin and attempt to exude a calm confidence I do not feel.

Pretty Smart Girls: Lace Up Synopsis:

PrettySmartGirls_cover[3]Team Ryan

Ryan Rose and her fellow Spartans are finalists in a high-profile entrepreneurial competition. They’re competing for life-changing money and for their futures. They have a solid plan to win. All they need to do is trounce the competition: rich frat boys from an archrival university. Easy, right?

Team Jett

Jett Trebuchet’s first mistake was not realizing that Ryan and her friends were the competition. His second was expressing his unabashed confidence in his team’s ability to win. After all, everyone knows the only thing MSU does better than U of M is produce beautiful, easy women…oh, and he almost forgot to say “dumb.” And boy, does his team pay for that one.

Game On

As each side tries to game the other, something else seems to be getting in the way—attraction. Now Ryan and Jett must keep their teams from getting distracted by the opposite sex…and each other. All is not fair in love and war when it comes to winning this game.

Godsend by Sloan Johnson Cover Reveal and Giveaway

Title: Godsend

Author: Sloan Johnson

Genre: Adult, Gay Romance

Coming: February 2015

You can’t choose who you fall in love with. Despite knowing from a young age that he was gay, Scott Murphy couldn’t imagine life without Shelly. He threw away the labels and had eleven amazing years with her, but now, he feels even more lost trying to figure out how to move on after Shelly’s death. After nearly a year of watching Scott fade away, Shelly’s father forces him to start living again.

As much as Chris loathes the idea of attending a bereavement group week after week, it’s one of the only places he can go in this town, other than the bar, to not feel so alone. When there’s nothing to distract him or dull his senses, he spends too much time obsessing over how he should have been able to help his sister. When Scott shows up at his group session, Chris decides that maybe some good can come out of his sister’s death.

There’s no denying that Chris is the first man to catch Scott’s attention in a long time, but how can he move on when just thinking of Shelly sends him to his dark place?

The road to recovery won’t be an easy one, but Chris is determined to help Scott see that life is still worth living. But before Scott can allow himself to admit what he feels for Chris, he knows he has to reveal the full truth about Shelly’s death.

Sloan Johnson is a big city girl trapped in a country girl’s life. While she longs for the hustle and bustle of New York City or Las Vegas, she hasn’t yet figured out how to sit on the deck with her morning coffee, watching the deer and wild turkeys in the fields while surrounded by concrete and glass.

When she was three, her parents received their first call from the principal asking them to pick her up from school. Apparently, if you aren’t enrolled, you can’t attend classes, even in Kindergarten. The next week, she was in preschool and started plotting her first story soon after.

Later in life, her parents needed to do something to help their socially awkward, uncoordinated child come out of her shell and figured there was no better place than a bar on Wednesday nights. It’s a good thing they did because this is where she found her love of reading and writing. Who needs socialization when you can sit alone in your bedroom with a good book?

Now, Sloan is a tattooed mom with a mohawk and two kids. She’s been kicked out of the PTA in two school districts and is no longer asked to help with fundraisers because she’s been known to lose herself with a good book and forget she has somewhere to be.

excerpt

“Ninety-five days.
That’s how long it’s been since I last had sex with my husband. I shouldn’t be sad or pity myself, right? I live the life! I have a great man who adores and loves me—or did once. Louis works incredibly hard. He has built up his New York-based real estate development firm from nothing to a billion dollar company in less than fifteen years.
We have two beautiful kids: Rose, who just turned eight two weeks ago; and Eric, who’s almost four. I gave up running an event planning company with my sister to stay home and be there for the kids and Louis. My husband wanted me to always be available for him.
We live in New York City the majority of the year. Our Upper East Side townhouse was once an embassy and takes up a good half of a city block. If I walk a few feet to the right, I’d be in Central Park, and if I take a few steps to the left, I’d be on Madison Avenue, the shopping mecca for the rich and famous.
I have need for nothing. I have a live-in nanny, a housekeeper, a cook, a driver, a masseuse, and a trainer. However, I would give it all up to have my husband want me like he once did. I’m twenty-nine years old but I feel like I’m eighty. You couldn’t tell I suffer from depression and self-loathing by looking at me. On the outside, I’m glowing and happy. I’m skinny thanks to André, my personal trainer. I look twenty-one thanks to Botox and my mom, who’s a dermatologist and keeps my skin looking young and flawless. Bergdorf Goodman keeps me dressed like a movie star and yet neither Hermès nor Van Cleef can put a genuine smile on my face these days
Some who don’t know me would say Emily Bruel is just another spoiled little rich bitch. Well, that’s why I keep my mouth shut. I don’t complain. I take it as it comes and yes, I thank my lucky stars. But I’m starting to think that if I keep going at this pace, I’ll lose the love of my life.
My husband is the one and only Louis Bruel. He was once deemed New York’s most eligible bachelor; now they call him “The Baron of New York Real Estate.” He, like the rest of the world, seems to be oblivious to my dissatisfaction with our love life. He works fourteen-hour days and comes home to the picture perfect family he created. He has provided lavishly for us, and as I already mentioned, we need and want for nothing. Except, of course, the need I have for him to stop ignoring my existence.
When we first met, I was an eighteen-year-old nobody. He was almost thirty years old and very much a somebody. How could I not fall madly in love with the wonderful Louis Bruel all those years ago? Lord knows, every woman who sets eyes upon him still does! Why should I be any different? Besides his obvious sexy good looks, he has this animal magnetism, a kind of swagger that attracts anything in its path. I will never forget that magical night eleven years ago when I first laid eyes on Mr. Louis Bruel. I can see it all play out from the very start. If I close my eyes and rewind, it seems like yesterday.”

The Line Between by Tamsyn Bester Review

kis3 kis3 kis3 kis3

Synopsis

There’s a fine line between love and hate, so fine that you don’t know you’ve lost balance until it’s too late.
I’m not sure exactly when I lost my balance, all I know is that he was to blame.
Dane Winters.
The boy who’d spent most of his life hating me for reasons I never understood.

** ** ** ** ** **

It was no secret that I hated her, but only I knew why.
She was off-limits.
And then our separate worlds collided with one tragedy.
It wasn’t her fault, I knew that, but I wanted her to hurt the way I did, and I needed someone to blame. She was an easy target.
Kennedy Monroe.
The girl I’d picked on all our lives.
And the woman I barely tolerated.
Until the line between love and hate was no longer visible…

Review

“The boy had made my life miserable for most of my teen years wasn’t there anymore. He was all man, and I wasn’t ashamed to admit  that he grew up nicely. It was a good look for him, asshole or not.”

After a year away at school, Kennedy Monroe has returned and will be going to college with those she grew up with. The one problem, the root of ALL her problem, Dane Winters. Aside from a decades old family dispute, Dane has personal reasons as well for why he hates Kennedy. The problem with hating her though, he was also kinda in major lust with her too!

“Kennedy was a drug to me, my own personal brand of cocaine. It was twisted. But it was us.”

Dane has done nothing but cause Kennedy problems for as long as she can remember. He goes out of his way to make her life a living hell and lucky for her when she moves into her new down guess who her neighbor is. While she has taken his torment for years when she returned from Georgia this year she did so with a brand new backbone, and for some crazy reason this along with Kennedy being the most beautiful girl he has seen turns him on like nothing else.

“I was an imbalanced combination of pissed, and turned on. I was a bastard, I knew that, but my body clearly didn’t get that memo. Either that, or my dick ignored the fucking post-it that read ‘Kennedy Monroe doesn’t make you hard'”

But Dane is an asshole with a grudge and while they have chemistry and the times they are alone together are HOT that is all it can be. Fleeting hot moments because their families and their past cement them to be nothing more! While sneaking around these two grow more attached but when all the secrets are out there can what they have survive or are they destined to be enemies forever?

“He’d completely obliterated me. One. Fractured. Piece. At. A. Time.”

The Line Between was a fast and easy read with just enough angst to keep the story going. The only thing about the story that was hard for me was how similar it was to The Falling Away series, but then again as it is said there are no original idea anymore. Everything has been done before and being a first book by a young new author I think this one was a great start! I have to say I am actually even more excited for book two, Jade and Reid’s story, I just have a feeling it is going to be a good one!

Synopsis

*** Part 1 of a 3 part serial ***

Cory James has never known a life where she wasn’t running. Running from the cops, her home, her past. Running from love. The only time she’s free is when she throws on her hood and takes to the roofs to become a part of New York, to climb to a place in the city where she doesn’t feel alone.

Stealing is nothing, lying inevitable, byproducts of survival. A way for Cory to provide for herself and for her younger sister, Jill, give her the life Cory couldn’t have. For five years, Cory set up a long line of teetering dominos, one by one, choice by choice.

Meeting Van is the first domino to fall, and once they crash into each other, it’s only a matter of time before her whole world is in danger of falling apart. She can tell herself over and again that she doesn’t care, but it’s a lie. She knows it from the first time she says his name, but she can’t let him in, not when she has a job to do, a job that could rip her life apart at the seams. One that she’ll have to betray Van to finish.

He’ll follow however high she can climb, but she can only run for so long before she has to choose.

Review

“‘What are you running from’ My answer: Everything.”

Hardcore: Part 1 is my first time reading Staci Hart and I have to say I am defineately intrigued and looking forward to reading more from her. This story is the first part in a serial that takes place in New York City revolving around Cory, a sexy bike messenger/ thief and Van a rich photographer who happens to share a love with Cory, extreme running (known as Parkour.) Cory and Van meet after he chases her one night when she is on the run and from the moment they connect he knows he needs to see her again, one problem he doesn’t know her name.

“Don’t run from me. Run with me.”

There were so many elements in this story that captivated me. I love when the characters live a lifestyle so far-fetched than my own and the life of a youth running around new York rooftops and robbing electronics stores is something I have never quite experienced. Cory is exciting and a bit dangerous. She has secrets and regrets and when she realizes that she could actually feel things for Van she knows it’s best for him to stay away . . .but can she?

“Van was living in a way I didn’t know existed in the context of real life. He was a hot match in a cold, dark room. Being near him was like being able to see for the first time.”

Hardcore: Vol 1 was well-written and very exciting with it’s fast paced story, sexy characters and dangerous lifestyles. I absolutely cannot wait to continue Van and Cory’s story and see how far Cory is willing to go to protect those she loves.

 ~miranda

**sidenote: This serial did have a f/f scene I wasn’t expecting. While personally I am ok with this I do know it is not for everyone and  thought it should be mentioned.

Synopsis

Dirt poor. Hillbilly. Backwoods hick. Mountain folk.

Tenleigh Falyn struggles each day to survive in a small, poverty-stricken, coal mining town where she lives with her sister and mentally ill mother. Her dream of winning the college scholarship given to one student by the local coal company and escaping the harshness of her life, keeps her going.

Kyland Barrett lives in the hills, too, and has worked tirelessly—through near starvation, through deep loneliness, against all odds—to win the Tyton Coal Scholarship and leave the town that is full of so much pain.

They’re both determined not to form any attachments, but one moment changes everything. What happens when only one person gets to win? When only one person gets to leave? And what happens to the one left behind?

Kyland is a story of desperation and hope, loss and sacrifice, pain and forgiveness, but ultimately, a story of deep and unending love.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY TAURUS. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Review

Well, I have been reading a lot of Mia Sheridan and while I LOVE all of her books, Archer’s Voice has always stood out to me as the very best of her work.  Surprisingly enough, a certain new book boyfriend might have just nudged sweet Archer over and said “Make room for me, dude” and his name is Kyland.  Whew.  Kyland and this amazingly and beautifully written story blew me away.

You pierce my soul.  I am half agony, half hope.

Tenleigh and Kyland’s story is such a hard one that had me in tears almost non-stop.  Tenleigh and Kyland are both dirt poor seniors in highschool.  Literally.  They barely have enough food to eat.  Working their fingers to the bone just to make ends meet.  No heat or electricity sometimes in the cold of winter in the mountains.  This is the life they were raised in and all they know; all their small town knows.

And I had to wonder, should a seventeen-year-old girl be so tired?  Just tired down to my bones…weary in my very soul?

They want out badly.  They walk miles and miles to school and home everyday in the hopes of being the very best students and winning the Tyton Coal Scholarship.  What happens when Kyland and Tenleigh become friends, maybe become more than friends and there is only one scholarship; one way to make it out of this poor town and become something?

“I’m leaving this place behind when I go.  Everything about this place.  Even you.”

Go ahead and get your tissues and wine because this one will completely break you apart and then piece you slowly back together.  Kyland and Tenleigh’s relationship is so romantic and beautiful yet devastating.  You know whats coming but you can’t seem to look away; stop reading.  They draw you in; Tenleigh with her unwavering faith in love

Someday, when I’m living my dreams, I’m going to think of all the things that broke my heart and I’m going to be thankful for them.

and Kyland with his determination and sacrifice.

“I do go to hell.  Every day.  For you.”
