Hysterics by Kristen Hope Mazzola Release Day Launch

Once upon a time, I was Fallon Dunbar.

Rock and roll, drugs, and bad decisions were the life I lived.

I’d fallen so deep into the dark rabbit hole that I was certain I would never make it out alive. People like me didn’t get second chances. People like me didn’t get lifted from the darkness. So when the opportunity showed up, I had to take it.

I walked away from everything I loved, everything that was killing me, and I became Fae Dunham. After that, I hid behind makeup, long sleeves, and a closed-off heart.

All was well until I met Dane Pearson. He wasn’t convinced of the new me, and whenever he was near, I felt like the old me, the real me, filled with passion and a love for music. Every day was a struggle of self-discovery. Every day was a fight to not fall back down the rabbit hole. And every day, somehow, someway, I slowly began to discover what it meant to find myself.

It was a hysteric ride, but it was ours. And I wouldn’t change a thing.

FALLON

I was Fallon Dunbar.

I was a drummer.

I was confident, strong, and driven.

I was a junkie.

I am dead.

The full boxes

scattered around my small one room apartment made it feel more real. The

sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach made it feel so wrong. The new title

and job made it feel surreal.

I am Fae Dunham.

I am the assistant editor of Raging Underground.

I am unsure, nervous, and scared shitless.

I am in recovery.

Staring into

the full length mirror I had just hung up on the back of the door in my new

room, I saw the shell of what I used to be, the life I could no longer have.

The only traces left of my old life were the lips piercing I refused to take

out. They were my favorites and they were staying. People like me don’t get

second chances, but for some reason, I was standing knee-deep in one.

There’s no turning back now.

I will live again.

You want to know more about me? Well, let’s see…

I am just an average twenty-something following my dreams. I have a full time

“day job” and by night I am author. I guess you could say that

writing is like my super power (I always wanted one of those). I am the lover

of wine, sushi, football and the ocean; that is when I am not wrapped up in the

literary world.

Please feel free to contact me to chat about my writing, books you think I’d

like or just to shoot the, well you know.

A portion of all my royalties are donated to The Marcie Mazzola Foundation.

Review

“People like me don’t get second chances, but for some reason, I was standing knee-deep in one.”

The Hysterics is an fast and easy rocker read that I was very excited to read. I went into this book pretty blind and was delighted by how much I enjoyed reading about Fallon and Dane. At under 200 pages I read the whole story in one sitting and it left me excited to read more from this group of characters in the future.

“No more musicians. Don’t do it.”

Fae Dunham is a new editor at the magazine that Dane works at to support his music career. He is instantly taken with her and wants to know everything about her. The one problem . . . Fae isn’t real. Fae used to be Fallon Dunbar a famous drummer who overdosed and everyone presumed dead when she never re-emerged in the spotlight.

“If you can’t love him completely, then don’t love him at all.”

While Fallon and Dane definitely have some instant chemistry they both have hard past they need to overcome and only time will tell if their feelings for each other are strong enough to withstand all the drama that follows. Fallon loves music but being in the spotlight led her down a nasty rabbit hole and she is very happy in her life as Fae. Dane loves being a music journalist but his dream is for his band, The Hysterics, to take off.

“Why so serious, Romeo?”  “It’s the worst part of my day – leaving you.”

When Kristen wrote Dane she must have been picturing the perfect man. He is a employed journalist, a rock musician , has tattoos, is protective but is one of the sweetest written book boyfriends ever. Even he agrees that when it comes to Fallon he is basically whipped and would do anything if it meant her happiness!

“You’re a damaged, wrratic, closed of mess and I love every bit of you for it.”

The Hysterics was a great start to what I hope is a whole series of books. I do wish it was a bit longer but only because I loved Dane so much I just wanted more and more of him (I am greedy like that.) Too often rocker books are what I like to call Tour Bus Lovin books so for me I was delighted to find out that The Hysterics was more about their emerging relationship and less about steamy times in a cramped space. Great job Kristen and I look forward to seeing more of your books on my kindle soon!

Review

Please believe me when I say that I having a hard time coming up with words to describe Past Heaven. Saying “I love this book” does not do it justice! I laughed, cried, smiled and overall this book warmed my heart. The writing style is beyond captivating. Beauty flowed off the pages. As a reader, I search for a book that transports me into its story, a movie right before my eyes, and Laura Ward did this for me!
Liz Atwater loses the love of her life and father of her 3 sons, Jack, in a tragic way. Now having to raise her children on her own and the life insurance check slowly depleting, Liz is faced with more challenges. Reynolds Carter, People’s magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive, consumed by Hollywood doesn’t know who he is anymore. On a trip home to his parent’s, he finds an answer to his dilemma.
These two worlds collide and work together on a project. The chemistry between these two is instantaneous but for Liz, she feels she is betraying her first love and her children. A character that took the cake for me in this book is best friend Cindy. Her dialogue was brilliantly funny. Couldn’t get enough of her, a great element to the book for sure. And the boys, Griffin, Grayson and Hayden. These boys just made my heart burst, they were great!
I can not wait to spread the word about this book. I can think of friends that will definitely enjoy Liz and Reynolds love story. These two are not in their 20s, they are adults finding love! Reynolds even has peek-a-boo streaks of gray! Oh my gosh, it’s totally hot for me! I highly recommend this book! Be sure to add it to your list of fave books for 2015 😉

I squealed as Brack flipped us over dislodging my hands. He was hard again. Or maybe his erection never left. I sat back on his thighs and admired his cock. Placing my fingers around the head, I squeezed gently.

“Harder,” he said with lust in his voice.

“Mmm, I want to suck.”

“What’s stopping you?” he asked gruffly.

I gripped harder like he asked. “I want you shooting off in my pussy this time.”

He closed his eyes for a moment. “Suck me first and that can be arranged.”

I didn’t care that I was a sticky mess. I wiggled off him until my knees hit the floor. He moved down a bit so I could comfortably reach him with my mouth. He propped himself on his arms and watched. I stuck my tongue out and licked just the tip. I didn’t always like the taste of men but Brack was yummy. When I’d sucked his cum from my fingers, I’d wanted to go back for seconds. I flicked my tongue against him watching his reaction. It wasn’t much. I knew he liked it hard. I wrapped my lips around the head and sucked a little as I circled his balls with one hand and his cock with the other.

Saliva pooled in my mouth as I took him deeper. At the same time, I put additional pressure around his cock. My lips met my fingers and I sucked while bobbing my head. His groan had me tightening my fingers even harder.

“I want to grab your hair but I’m afraid I’ll hurt your head,” he moaned out on a ragged breath.

His cock slipped from my mouth as I looked up. He stared at the stream of saliva between his dick and my lips. I smiled. “I’m fine, do what feels good.”

His eyes met mine as he placed his fingers in my hair and pushed my mouth to his cock again. I opened wide and took him deeper.

“Fuck me you’re good at this.”

I didn’t take it the wrong way—I was good at this. The second lover in my life, an Australian tennis pro, spent a lot of time teaching me fellatio. He wasn’t into returning the favor frequently and I finally kicked him to the sideline. He came out of the closet a year ago and it all made sense. But who better to teach about blowjobs than a gay man? I didn’t feel comfortable enough to practice my skills with most of the men I slept with. Brack was different. I wanted his cock. And like most things in my life, I took what I wanted.

Holly S. Roberts is the USA Today Best-Selling Author of “Play” the first book in the completion series. She lives high in the Arizona Mountains with the love of her life and her anxiety ridden Rottweiler, Dizzy. To write, she needs caffeine on her desk and music playing in the background. Hard rock and mellow instrumentals fill her office in equal accord. Oh and she loves to read, and read, and read.

Review

When a crazy psycho stalks Tennis Pro Olivia Stadmore, her father hires Brack Jacobs. A smoldering ex-Marine that doesn’t like to double dip in business and pleasure. In all seriousness, he is the best of the best and will keep his clients safe. Be ready to get absorbed in their world to take this stalker down.

I could not get enough of Slam!!! The whitty dialogue and the awesome character of Olivia just blew me away! And the oh so hunky Brack! I couldn’t stop thinking of Chris Hemsworth the entire book! Whew! These two have chemistry but the road block from Brack, seems to always get in the way! He doesn’t sleep with his jobs. But as the story continues, you begin to love the character of Brack and see how the reasoning behind it. He also has those damn Aviator sunglasses! And that just made him that much more mysterious!
Writing was superb, instantly gripping. I read this book in one sitting, I only got up to feed my kiddos lol. Definitely recommend! You don’t have to be into Tennis to enjoy this love story!  Loved this read and look forward to reading more of Holly! From a girl that loves and enjoys a good sports book, 4 smooches for Slam!!!

Synopsis

SAMANTHA ALDRIDGE

I went to his office expecting to change myself. I wanted to be someone else—look like the girls my husband was spending his nights with, but I got a different kind of procedure… one that left me wanting things I shouldn’t and seeing myself in a new light. Now everything I thought I wanted doesn’t matter anymore, and Dr. Roman is all I can think about.

ROMAN BLAKE

As a professional, I should know my limits, but Samantha Aldridge pushes me in a way I’ve never known. The need to be near her is strong, the desire to touch her inflames me, but the respect that lies within continuously wins. She came into my office wanting me to change her, but instead she changed me.

Review

I had the pleasure of reading Little Black Book which is another one of Tabatha and Melissa’s books together and I really REALLY loved it.  I just knew that I had to read The Procedure immediately and while I knew that I would love it, it was nothing like I expected it to be.

Little Black Book kind of had a dark feel to the writing, so I guess I was expecting the same of The Procedure but boy was I wrong.  The Procedure was definitely a lighter read and I loved everything about it.  The characters were lovable and I sympathized with them so much.

Samantha is in a loveless marriage but she wants to win her husband back.  Roman Blake is a renowned plastic surgeon and Samantha wants Roman to make her beautiful.  He totally does, but not in the way you think.  Roman is sweet and kind and such an amazing book boyfriend.  I mean, hello, he is a British doctor that does reconstructive surgery on people that REALLY need it;  burn victims and such.   He is just a good soul and he is bound and determined to make Samantha feel beautiful;  on the inside.  At some point along this mission to give Samantha her self confidence back, he falls for her.

“I can’t believe you did this for me,”

“Haven’t you figured it out yet, Samantha?”

“Figured out what?”

“There isn’t much I wouldn’t do for you.”

Gosh, he just really touched my heart.  I know some of you are apprehensive about a cheater book but man Samantha’s husband is a complete douche so I didn’t feel that bad for him, honestly.  And Samantha and Roman’s chemistry is just so amazing.  They are just ridiculously sexy and I loved them together so much!

“You taste so good, love.  Like sugar and sin.”

Synopsis

From New York Times Bestselling Author Charlotte Hughes

Can a Small Town Lawyer Get Lucky?

Atlanta’s billionaire heiress Annie Hartford has no desire to marry a man she does not love; but her controlling father has been calling the shots for his 29 year-old daughter her entire life. This time he has pushed Annie too far.
With minutes to spare before she is to walk down the aisle in front of 600 guests, Annie is forced to make a decision. She hijacks the family limo, only to have it break down in small town Pinckney, Georgia. Annie, who has never wanted for anything, suddenly finds herself homeless, penniless, with only the clothes on her back, a designer wedding gown and diamond tiara.
~~~
Small town lawyer and restaurant owner Sam Ballard has been unlucky in love, and the last thing he needs is a red-hot blonde in a short waitress uniform who seems hell-bent on breaking every dish in his Dixieland Café. Still, he can’t very well fire her, she has won the hearts of everyone in town.
Can rich girl Annie find happiness living in a garage apartment, wearing second-hand clothes, and making her way around town on a borrowed bicycle? As for Sam, can he put his past behind him and trust that Annie won’t run home to daddy when her new life presents one obstacle after another?
Review
The whole charming and delightful story of See Bride Run- a story of second chances at life and over-coming insecurities to fall helplessly in love with someone you perceived as unattainable or unsuitable- literally played out like a truly brilliant romantic comedy from the very beginning to the last word of the prologue.
A witty and refreshing take on the runaway bride plot, it sees young Annie Hartford- a beautiful socialite who has been groomed from birth simply to be nothing more than the perfect housewife to a husband chosen by her domineering multi-millionaire father, a man so archaic in his misogynistic beliefs that he sent his daughter to finishing school to obtain skills in order to help her gain her MRS degree rather than to college to learn an actual skill. The tale starts with Annie deciding to take control of her life after suffering in silence for far too long and after a series of events she ends up in Pinckney, Georgia where small town community really means small town family, where looking after one another is just a way of life and where the locals take a down-on-her-luck Annie and show her what love and acceptance is all about.
Charlotte Hughes has managed to construct an entire town that immediately captivates you, the inhabitants, each individual personality and their unique and quirky traits reels you in like a wide mouth bass. The interaction with one another and the constant bickering and jesting and cajoling had me in stitches. It’s such a wonderful tale and utterly refreshing because there isn’t a mountain of prosaic graphic sex scenes, it’s sweet and soft and for once you have to get off your perverted and sex scene saturated mind and actually use your imagination when it comes to the love play. Sam, the multi-tasking cafe owner, lawyer and car salesman takes an instant dislike to our unfortunate and intrepid heroine Annie and that alone makes for some of the best and most hilarious scenes I’ve had the good fortune to encounter, the dialogue between the two sparkles and shimmers with great comedic timing and biting sarcasm.
‘Sam shook his head as if to clear it. “Holy hell Buster she knocked me off my feet.” He glared at Annie, who looked quite pleased with herself. “She sure did,” Buster said. “That’s assault and battery if I ever saw it. You want to press charges? ‘Course, you know folks are gonna tease you something fierce about being beat up by a girl.”’
It might be a gentle and unfurling love story between Annie and Sam and about them over-coming adversity to get to the HEA point but I do feel that Annie’s independence and striking out on her own was the real focal point. She’s an absolute gem of a character to read about with a Bambi like innocence that seems to draw the locals and Sam to her but under that seemingly naive exterior she’s the strongest and most considerate person you could probably have in your corner, strong and just utterly likable. So together the initial meeting, the growing closer and the gorgeous prologue Annie and Sam combined make this a winning romance in my eyes.
