Synopsis

Eight years ago, Sophie gave her heart—and her virginity—to Zach Barrett on a night that couldn’t have been less romantic or more embarrassing. Zach’s step-brother, a steely-muscled, tattooed biker named Ruger, caught them in the act, getting a peep show of Sophie he’s never forgotten.

She may have lost her dignity that fateful night, but Sophie also gained something precious—her son Noah. Unfortunately, Zach’s a deadbeat dad, leaving Ruger to be Noah’s only male role model. When he discovers Sophie and his nephew living in near poverty, Ruger takes matters into his own hands—with the help of the Reapers Motorcycle Club—to give them a better life.

Living with outlaw bikers wasn’t Sophie’s plan for her son, but Ruger isn’t giving her a choice. He’ll be there for Noah, whether she wants him or not. But Sophie does want him, has always wanted him. Now she’ll learn that taking a biker to bed can get a girl dirty in every way…

Review

I have been a fan of MC (Motorcycle Club) books for quite some time now. They are bloody, violent, and rude. I love that! I guess you could say that I like a little violence with my erotica.

When I first read Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde, I couldn’t put it down! I fell in love with the Reapers and how they lived and loved.

This second installment in the Reapers books does NOT disappoint. For all you fellow ‘straight-talkers’, Ruger will not let you down. He is extremely blunt, extremely hot and extremely loyal. Don’t let the commentary in his head fool you, he loves only Sophie.

There are quite a few twists and turns and crazy shit that happens, some of it was predictable, some of it not. I really enjoyed the relationship that the heroine, Sophie, has with her seven year old son Noah. There were quite a few moments there where I could totally relate. How she parented him, even at such a young age was nice to read about.

This is a fairly predictable MC read; full of couple angst and kidnappings, but the love between Ruger and Sophie shines through and at the end of the day, that’s what is most enjoyable to read about. At least for me.

I HIGHLY recommend the Reapers series, Reaper’s Property and the newest release Reaper’s Legacy by Joanna Wylde.

Synopsis

If you believe your life is the sum total of your choices, what do you do when things just don’t add up? You are about to find out. It won’t be pretty. It won’t be dull. And surely, it won’t be safe. In fact, making just one wrong choice could put evil at your bedside watching you sleep.

And so it is with Kate Simmons, a young woman who, by choosing to regain her life, actually puts it at risk by the very choices she makes. After unimaginable heartbreak stops her world on a dime, Kate falls into a three-year blackness of self blame that brings her to the edge of life, itself. As time finally brings light back through tiny cracks of renewed desire, Kate moves out of the prison she made for herself in her mother’s home to find a new reality, rooming with her best girlfriend, Charlie.

Yet, to be free is to be vulnerable, and Kate’s choices more than ever mark a splattered line between being happy and being dead.

Care to choose? Here’s your menu:
A strangely alluring building manager so possessed with wanting you for his own, he’ll bury more than the fact he has a girlfriend; a buff college student for whom you are clearly hot, as are all the other girls on campus; a pushy lawyer who is as handsome as he is intoxicated with conquest, who doesn’t take no for an answer, who gets what he wants — always.

Sometimes, it’s whom you choose. Sometimes, it’s who chooses you. If you’re Kate, it’s both, and it puts you on a perilous road where good looks and humor are the thin masks of jealous delusion and utter violence.

You’re in trouble when the sum total of your choices is written in blood red.

Review

When we received these books from Carlie I was so excited!  I’ve had them on my TBR list forever!  I’ve seen Ms. Carlie Sexton out there pimping her books left and right, so I have to give her mad props.  Girlfriend is working hard to sell her books and that convinced me I needed to read them.  So, when I saw them come in, I was all like take your greedy book boyfriend stealing hands off of these Miranda and Nicole, this review is mine!  I am glad that I snatched them up.  I really did enjoy these books.

The first book in this series Fallen For You, started off a little slow for me.  For the first 30% of the book I was beating my head against my kindle and muttering let’s fucking move this along, shall we?  But now, looking back I feel those slow chapters were necessary.  It gave background information and really sets up the reader for the all out craziness that is Roger.  I am going to come back to Roger’s cray cray ass in a bit.

For now, I want you to imagine moving out of your mom’s house into an apartment with your bestie.  Your gorgeous, in school full time, and have an awesome job doing something you love.  You even have the attention of three gorgeous men!  Winning, right?  Except one of those men is a crazy ass stalking serial killer and he wants to marry you and have you be his baby’s momma.  FAIL!  Run, bitch, run!  And so that is what Kate does.  But can she get away from Roger The Psycho with the help of her sexy as hell and romantic new boyfriend?

OK, now I want to talk more about Roger.  He was my absolute favorite character in this series.  He is a crazy as hell serial killer and complete sociopath.  I LOVED reading his point of view.  This probably makes me an awful person but I even thought his sex scenes were the hottest.  He was one creepy good looking mother fucker and he had me entranced.  Damn you Roger!  I hate you but your still so hot.  I’m so disgusted with myself now.

I definitely recommend picking these books up.  They are different than anything I’ve read lately.  The sex scenes were steamy with plenty of dirty talk.  The romance scenes were sweet and full of love.  The dark scenes were creepy as hell and my absolute favorite part.  I should add that if you buy one of these books, you better buy them all.  There is no conclusion at the end of any of these books.  They read like one big book.  Don’t get left hanging.  4 Smooches out of 5, Ms. Sexton! 🙂

P.S.  I will also be reviewing Beholden to You by Carlie Sexton soon!
