 Synopsis

Shane Dekkar is an undefeated, gorgeous, and somewhat shy boxer from Compton California. In the ring, he’s a beast, out of the ring, he’s loving, caring, and intriguing. After the death of his grandfather, he moves to Austin and meets Kace by happenstance as she and her boyfriend are in an argument in public. He is drawn to her, and she to him. Her boyfriend drives away as she mouths the words “help me” through the window…

When they meets again two years later, Shane begins to believe in fate. But, as he prepares for a potential shot at a championship fight, he believes there’s no time in his life or career for a woman.

Kace Meadows lives in Austin, Texas. Now 26, she has been in an abusive relationship since she was sixteen years old. As terrible as it is, she can’t seem to find a way to allow herself to end it. With her current boyfriend, she can’t seem to win. She finds hope in reading about her book boyfriends….and dreaming.

Until she meets Shane Dekkar, a boxer. Holy mother of perfection…

Shane fights his inner demons by using his fists. On the street or in the ring, Shane does what he does best, he wins at any cost. Unlike Kace, Shane can’t seem to lose.

Undefeated is an extremely romantic erotica novel about fighting. Fighting for what you believe in. Fighting for life. Fighting to live. And fighting to keep love once you find it.

Be prepared to be moved, touched, stand up and cheer, and cry your eyes out. This book will, without a doubt, knock you unconscious. This novel clearly defines the love that we all seem to want, yet can’t find. This is not your typical boxing/fighter romance. This book will give you hope, make you feel, and cause you to wonder….wonder why you haven’t met your Shane Dekkar.

CAUTION: Graphic sexual content. This book contains fighting scenes that are descriptive. This book has two descriptive scenes of abuse.

Review

So, at  Red Cheeks Reads, we really pay attention to what our likers post on our page and every time we asked, “what are y’all reading?” a ton of women responded with something by SD Hildreth.  So, Miranda, Nicole , and myself were like what’s up with this?  Who is this SD Hildreth and what does he write?  Nancy Screw, our resident smutty super sleuth uncovered Undefeated for us.  So we decided to give it a try.

I really enjoyed this book.  I have to be honest and say that I was shocked that I did.  I thought after reading some reviews for Scott’s Baby Girl Series that I had him pegged.  The truth is that I didn’t and he pleasantly surprised me.  His writing was pretty good.  I did catch a few typos but definitely not enough to distract from the story.  The premise of this story was excellent and I absolutely loved Shane.  He was totally swoon worthy. So freaking romantic and lush.

” I’m coming, Kace.  I’m coming for your heart.”

Sigh.  Seriously, I loved him.  All his “yes, sir’s” and “no, mam’s” had this southern girl feeling all melty.  But, nothing can compare to how he built Kace back up after so many years of being torn down with physical and verbal abuse.  It was too saaweeet.  Kace is a whole other matter, though.  I found her extremely annoying at first.  She just came off so dumb and socially awkward.  It really bothered me.  But, as the story progressed she got better, smarter even, and much more likeable.  As she healed emotionally from her abuse, she really came into her own, and I  actually liked her by the time the book was over.

For some reason I thought this book would be loaded with sex.  Like LOADED!  But it absolutely wasn’t.  I don’t think there was an actual sex scene until almost 60% of the way into the book.  It was a hot sex scene, so it was worth the wait.  This book was full of a lot more than sex.  It had very likeable characters and really funny scenes that I actually laughed out loud at.
Will I be joining Scott’s street team? Probably not.  I’m more of a solo author stalker.  Author stalking is a private act for me and I take that shit seriously. 😉  I will ,however, definitely recommend this book! It was a good one and I can’t wait to read Rippers story next.  4 smooches out of 5,Scott.  Don’t get too excited, fella.  They are just cyber smooches.  😉
