4 Smooches
Synopsis
It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now its full blown hate.
It was during my first football game that I first felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I’d never experienced something so cold and empty before.
The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone.
Becoming a couple – becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it.
And we’re happy.
Zach doesn’t want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He’s going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me.
As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone’s life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened.
I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.
Review
#Hater is book 2 in the Hashtag series by Cambria Hebert. The series follows unlikely couple Romeo and Rimmel while they try to defy the norms at Alpha University. Romeo is the campus hotshot and star quarterback on the fast track to the NFL. Rimmel is the resident nerd and veterinary student. They got together in book 1, #NERD, but now their relationship is in jeopardy because Romeo’s rival, Zach is out for revenge and has determined that Rimmel is the perfect pawn.
“A thousand of those girls couldn’t even make up one of you.”
Romeo is an ultimate book boyfriend. He is sexy and sweet, protective and kind. His love for Rimmel is unfaltering and watching how strongly he cares for her and puts her needs above all else is a joy. But as much as these two care for each other there are just some things that are hard to come back from. Secrets can tear even the best couple apart and some things might just be too much for a new relationship to handle.
“It’s not your job to protect me, Romeo.” “You’re wrong,” “It is and I will.”
I have read several book by Cambria Hebert but I can honestly say the Hashtag series is my favorite yet! #Hater is funny, suspenseful and full of the strong kind of love I adore. This is a New Adult series you won’t want tomiss.
