Synopsis

The new Loving on the Edge romance from the New York Times bestselling author of Nothing Between Us turns on the heat between two men who wonder how much they’re willing to risk in the name of love.

Four years after an accident tore their friendship apart, Hunter and Devon are living separate lives. Hunter is now the all-America hero—a congressman’s son and a pro pitcher in Houston preparing to marry his beauty-queen girlfriend. Devon is in Dallas running a new restaurant.

But when Hunter unexpectedly shows up in Devon’s bar, Devon can’t turn him away. Damn it if the man isn’t still gorgeous. But engaged? Hell no. All he’s doing for Devon is bringing back memories of their college-roommate days, and the night their relationship went too far. Turns out Hunter has never forgotten it either.

Now Devon can’t help but be drawn in all over again by the only guy who’s ever gotten close enough to break his heart. Maybe one more night together would be enough for both of them to finally move on. Or maybe one night will change everything…

Review

“Hunter hadn’t lied when Devon had asked if he looked at guys in a sexual way. He didn’t. He was just starting to look at Devon that way. And it was completely fucking with his head.”

Yours All Along is a novella in the Loving On The Edge series but i read it as a standalone and had no problem keeping up with this angsty and sexy male male book! While starting out in the present day most of the book is spent in their college years where Hunter and Devon struggle to ride the fine line between being roommates and giving into their attraction to each other despite the fact that Hunter is straight and Devon is gay and out of the closet.

“I know how casual sex works. I’ve had my share.” “With women. Don’t pretend this is the same thing. Things might seem exciting now – all that unknown. But how are you going to feel the morning after when you wake up and it sinks in that you’ve slept with a dude? That the taste lingering in your mouth is my dick? That your ass is sore because I’ve had my fingers or more inside you?”

When we start Hunter is engaged to be married and his fiance, who he is starting to feel disconnected to, sends him off to Texas to relax and to ask his former BFF Devon to be his best man. Completely unaware of the feelings and history these to shared this trip sets up us flashing back to their past and then spend the majority of the book watching these two best friends become more and try to figure out how all that could possible fit into their lives. Devon is going to be a baseball superstar and the son of a senator a lot if on his shoulders but still he is the most tolerant person around and even offers to room with the new guy in the frat who happens to be gay.

“Here Devon was free . . . and fucking magnetic.”

The beauty in Devon and Hunter’s relationship is that it was built on an open friendship that sparked a chemistry that was impossible to deny. I am a big fan of m/m romance an d my favorite ones are where at least of of the men is straight and not really attracted to other men but then there is this one guy who brings out desires they never knew they had. This book follow that format beautifully and I enjoyed it immensely. Being a novella format basically means we get the condensed version of their story and I loved these two so much I would have enjoyed more from them. Dynamic chemistry and a story filled with angst, drama and years passing was a formula for success and while I had not heard of this author before now I look forward to reading more of her books soon.
