Synopsis

What do a cynical former Marine and a sheltered former Olympic contender have in common?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
He has a girlfriend and she’s never been kissed.
He’s sullenly sarcastic and she’s earnestly empathetic.
He can’t stop thinking about her.
She knows she should keep her distance.
Nevertheless, when opposites attract the results may be unexpected, but they’re also undeniably magnetic.
‘Ninja at First Sight’ is a standalone, prequel novella (for book 5 of the Knitting in the City Series, ‘Happily Ever Ninja’)

Review

‘Also, a tortured Greg was so devastatingly  handsome it made my throat tight and my chest hurt. Mostly, I just wanted to touch him. But I didn’t.’

I always adore Penny Reid but when Penny does New Adult for me it is perfection. I absolutely adored her Elements Of Chemistry series, it was my top read of 2015, and Ninja At First Sight was once again the type of story that gave me tons of feels along with having me smile most of the time. I originally read this story in the Scenes from the City book she put out but when I heard she had almost doubled it in size I knew I needed to re-read it and I am SO glad that I did!

I’ve often wondered why you are so beautiful when everyone else is merely pretty.”

Fiona and especially Greg are such unique and quirky characters. Greg is sexy and witty and always up for a good debate (just imagine that British accent fighting with you  . . .YUM.) Fiona is finally on her own after living a very sheltered life and instead of partying it up as you would expect she studies, reads and keeps to herself. Greg is older and popular with a gorgeous girlfriend. But after the two mix words and Fiona proves she can hold her own against the sarcastic, quick tounged charmer nothing is ever the same.

“You’re jokes are terrible.” “It’s pronounced tremendous.”

I fell in love with the banter between Fiona and Greg and am desperate to read their full length novel, Happily Ever Ninja.  As soon as I finished the book I was eager to hunt down my own hunny and start a debate, turns out not quite as big turn on in real life as it is in the story. This FREE book was amazing and I sincerely hope that everyone picks it up and jumps feet first into watching these two fall in love .
