Synopsis

He told me to ‘settle, girl.’
He asked if ‘something was wrong with me?’
He said I was an ‘easy target.’
That was within minutes when I first met Caden Banks.
I labeled him an *sshole, but he was more than that. Arrogant. Smug. Alpha.

He was also to-die-for gorgeous, and my stepbrother’s fraternity brother.

Okay, yes I was a little naive, a tad bit socially awkward, and the smallest amount of stalker-ish, but if Caden Banks thought he could tell me what to do, he had another thing coming.

I came to college with daydreams about being with my stepbrother, but what if I fell for the anti-stepbrother instead?

Review

‘I’d come to this event a nobody, but suddenly, with the acknowledgment that Caden Banks knew me, I knew I wouldn’t be a nobody for long.’

I haven’t read Tijan in a long time and after finishing Anti-Stepbrother I am really kicking myself. This was New Adult just like I like it. Full of emotion and drama with a dash of tension and heat. Tijan delivered in the best way possible and I am left wanting more time in my day so I can devour her entire backlist of books.

‘Fuck him, I’d thought. Fuck his niceness. Fuck his thoughtfulness, and fuck how he didn’t notice when I didn’t respond.’

When Summer Stoltz follows her stepbrother to college she has high hopes of them finally becoming the item she dreamed of. But soon Kevin’s true character starts to shine through and when Summer finally sees the reality of it all she is also forced to deal with his asshole of a Fraternity brother, Caden Banks, too. Caden could not be more different than Kevin and while his smug attitude rubs her wrong instantly she also cannot deny that he is extremely ruggedly good looking. After several chance encounters has them becoming the oddest of friends and proving that deciding to cross over the friendship line can be the hardest decision of them all.

‘I wasn’t the sun. I was just a reprieve in the darkness.’

Summer and Caden stole the show here. Well, really it was their show, but still I loved them. They had amazing chemistry and banter. While Caden might be a man of few words the ones he chooses have depth and meaning. I was drawn to him instantly and hooked on the story from the start. Summer was just what I expect in a coming of age, New Adult, heroine. She was a bit naïve and trusting but she gradually grows into her own. Anti-Stepbrother was a fun and easy to read standalone with characters that draw you in and a storyline that has you staying the course.
