4 Smooches
Synopsis
Being happy. It sounds so simple. Yet, it seems that it’s always just out of reach for Shannon Ryan.
After serving overseas for seven years as a female United States Marine, Ryan is finally getting out the military. But coming home to live with her biker brother and his motorcycle club is more difficult than she thought it would be. Much has changed in the years that she has been gone, including Ellis, her brother’s best friend and childhood crush.
Ellis ‘Dirty’ Crane is the second in command for Tormented Souls Motorcycle Club. The only thing he lives for is the club, that is until Ryan comes home, no longer the wild little girl that followed him around. The two things standing in his way of getting what he wants are Patrick, Ryan’s brother and leader of the club, and Jeremiah, Ryan’s boyfriend.
Can Ellis break through Ryan’s walls? Burn them and Jeremiah down? Prove to her brother that he’s the right man for her? Or is Ryan hiding more than she’s letting on?
Review
Her Ride is a sexy and emotional romance that takes place in an MC Club. I am not sure if I would categorize this as an MC book since it does not focus on the club too much but more the relationship between the two main characters, Ryan and Ellis. Personally, I found this to be an easy and interesting read that I was able to read in a day and it really had me thinking the whole time. I think Rachel did a good job of making a multi layered story with lots happening.
Shannon Ryan is just about to get out of the military and she is spending the last of her leave back home at her brother’s MC Club. Having basically been raised around the club, she is tough and can definitely be one of the boys. Throughout the book we definitely can see that Ryan is strong willed and tough as nails but we also get the chance to see that, like all of us, she can be vulnerable and weak too.
Ellis is Patrick’s (Ryan’s brother) best friend and second in command at the club. He has always known that Ryan had a crush on him but when she returns a fully grown woman he makes it very clear those feelings are not one-sided. He is fiercely protective and a damn sexy alpha if I ever met one. When Ryan pushes him away knowing it is best that she not get too attached to anyone right now, he makes her see that the two of them can and will get through anything.
The sexual chemistry in this book is off the charts. The two of them together are explosive and hot. What I wasn’t expecting was how incredibly sweet Ellis would be to her. While always showing his Alpha tendencies he also wore his heart on his sleeve and found a way to be all man and to be so patient and kind with a clearly broken Ryan that I was constantly swooning!
Her Ride was a fast read that I would recommend to anyone who enjoys MC books but is looking for something unique and different. I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to reading more of Rachael’s books in the future.
