Synopsis

Chloe’s newfound love for Skye grows more and more every day. Never before has she been so enamored by someone. Could that be a bad thing for her though? With all thoughts of Skye and still recovering from her recent attack, Chloe is distracted. Her recently acquired tunnel vision only allows her to see Skye and she misses all the details of the things going on outside her hospital room.

Skye’s love for Chloe becomes stronger every day and so does his instinct to protect her. With Todd still on the loose, the roses that keep appearing on Chloe’s apartment door, Tom’s odd behavior and Sarah missing, Skye is determined more than ever to never leave Chloe’s side. Will Skye’s determination to protect her from Todd, her friends, and even herself be their undoing?

Review

After reading and enjoying the first book in this series, The Friend Zone I was excited for the opportunity to read this new installment in Chloe and Skye’s story. This one picks up right where the first ended and Chloe is in the hospital badly hurt. More than friends was a deeply emotional story to read and deals with issues that can be hard for some such as domestic violence.

I was happy to see when reading this that the alternating POVs in the story did not overlap near as much as they did in the first book and I think I got more out of it because of that. For the beginning of this book Chloe is in a coma and it is heartbreaking to watch Skye deal with that and come to terms with just how much he loves her. Even harder for me was hearing Chloe’s POV while she is in the coma desperate to wake up. These are two people you just want to get their HEA!

One big difference between the first book and this one is that I did not think this one was quite as sexy. That being said I do not think it needed to be because the story line is one where it would not be fitting to be having sex all the time. But I wanted readers to be aware. Now that being said when it does get sexy  . . .boy does it! 🙂 Skye and Chloe have an undeniable chemistry and I love reading them when they are together.
