Spider by Ilsa Madden-Mills Review

5 Smooches

Synopsis

“She crossed my path and changed my whole direction.”

He called himself Spider.

I just knew him as the sinfully gorgeous guy with eyes of fire that fate places next to me on the airplane.

I didn’t know who he really was…British bad boy…cocky rock star…my stepbrother.

He kissed me because he thought he’d never see me again. He would.

Everyone warned me about him.
They told me he was careless and ruthless and screwed up.
They said he’d leave me with a hole in my heart.

Maybe I should have listened.
Maybe I should have built a fortress to keep him out.
But I crumbled instead.

They say an unbreakable thread connects those who are destined to meet. If that’s true, then the moment he sat next to me, we were bound together forever.

He just had to figure it out before it’s too late…

Review

You think you are reading just another step-brother book but what you get is so much more . . . swoony, sexy, and completely Captivating. Spider is a step-brother you don’t want to miss. While Spider is a complete standalone, it is the book I have been eager to get my hands on since I first read Very Bad Things back in 2013. The wait was long but the story was worth it. Ilsa delivered the book none of us expected but we all desperately needed.

Spider is a story about a rocker on the verge of greatness and the one girl he shouldn’t want but can’t resist. Rose and Spider evolve from a dislike of each other, to friends, to lovers desperate for a way to be together when all the odds are stacked against them. Equal parts hot and fun with a hefty dash of angst, Ilsa has crafted a story impossible to put down. At times my heart hurt for these two but leave it to Ilsa to have all wounds healed and the HEA epic. I loved this book and I know you all will too.
