Synopsis

When 27-year-old pop sensation Brooklyn Heart steps in front of a microphone, her love songs enchant audiences worldwide. But when it comes to her own love life, the only spell she’s under is a dry one.

So when her label slots her for a Grammy performance with the sexy and soulful Jason Monroe, she can’t help but entertain certain fantasies… those in which her G-string gets more play than her guitars’.

Only one problem. Jason is a lyrical lone wolf that isn’t happy about sharing the stage—nor his ranch — with the sassy singer. But while it may seem like a song entitled ‘Jason Monroe Is an Arrogant Ho’ basically writes itself, their label and their millions of fans are expecting recording gold…

They’re expecting The Duet.

A fun & sexy Romantic Comedy.

Review

“Cammie, my sweet, innocent little sister, When you’re twenty-seven, if you’ve gone a whole year without having sex, I will personally take an ad out in the newspaper for you and it will say: Cammie Heart will put out for nearly anyone. Age not important. Job unnecessary–“

I am an undeniable complete and utterly huge R.S. Grey Fangirl! It is official. If there was any doubt after reading her other books (don’t let me fool you there was no doubt) she has now clearly cemented herself as one of my FAVORITE authors! This book was perfect for me. If you ask my co-blogger what my favorite books are she would tell you New Adult with humor and a dash of sex! Well R.S. does that like few can! I would love to break this down and tell you some small detail I would change but honestly there is nothing I would if I could.

When we meet Brooklyn Heart, pop princess, you can’t help but love her. She is flirty and fun and the banter with her sister is like no other. She has gone a year celibate and decided now is the time to end that. After a less than exciting night with a super sexy Brazilian Underwear model left her running late and frantic to an important meeting, she makes a less than desirable impression on Jason Monroe, the new HOT singer on the label! Now she is being told that the two of them will be doing a duet together at an awards show and it is clear that Jason is not at all excited about this.

“I’d ridden once or twice as a girl, but never as an adult. It was definitely on my bucket list though. Well, riding bareback with a sexy man . . . then after we were done, we’d saddle up and actually go horseback riding, Hah.”

Jason decides the best place to write this duet they are being forced to do together would be at his ranch and Brooklyn eager to make a better impression goes along with it. Now about my favorite part about Jason . . . he is an ASS! I mean a giant jerk who is clear in his disdain for Brooklyn. Why must I love men who are jerks. I don’t know I probably need help but damn I loved him. HARD! Not only does he insult her on a regular basis but he is damn sexy while he does it. Brooklyn must have the same problems as me because it is clear that even though he is not nice he is definitely a turn on for her!

“I think somewhere in there you were trying to be sweet, but then you ruined it with your mouth.”  “That’s the first time I’ve been told that my mouth ruined something.” “Oh my GOD, did you seriously just say that?”

In a crazy event the two of them decide that a kinda friends with benefits is the best way for them to deal with each other and surprisingly the best way to get a song written. This has disaster written all over it but itsn’t it just yummy all the same!

“Dear God, if you’re up there, please don’t let me pass out from excitement before he even gets it in.”

So can these two for the sake of their careers and sanity keep their feelings out of it and have some casual sex while writing a duet? I loved how easy a read this book was. Somehow R.S. always has a way of tackling issues with such a keen sense of humor and wit that you don’t even realize how emotionally attached you are until you are too deep and can’t stop till the book is done.

“I’d rip my heart out before I’d asked him to leave. None of this was healthy, but it had been a disease from the very start.”

So overall, This book needs to be read by everyone! You will laugh till it hearts, be so turned on that your embarrassed and your heart will be filled with so many emotions you won’t even know how to deal! As always I cannot wait until R.S. Grey puts out another book to take me away!

“It’s just . . . have you ever had sex with a Brazilian underwear model and thought. ‘Seriously, I thought this would be better’?” “Can’t say that I have.”

“It had been a really, really good first kiss. To put it in perspective, any kisses that I’d had before that kiss were just a waste of facial muscles. I should have been saving up all my energy for Jason Monroe because I had a feeling I was going to need it.”
