Synopsis

There’s a fine line between love and hate, so fine that you don’t know you’ve lost balance until it’s too late.
I’m not sure exactly when I lost my balance, all I know is that he was to blame.
Dane Winters.
The boy who’d spent most of his life hating me for reasons I never understood.

** ** ** ** ** **

It was no secret that I hated her, but only I knew why.
She was off-limits.
And then our separate worlds collided with one tragedy.
It wasn’t her fault, I knew that, but I wanted her to hurt the way I did, and I needed someone to blame. She was an easy target.
Kennedy Monroe.
The girl I’d picked on all our lives.
And the woman I barely tolerated.
Until the line between love and hate was no longer visible…

Review

“The boy had made my life miserable for most of my teen years wasn’t there anymore. He was all man, and I wasn’t ashamed to admit  that he grew up nicely. It was a good look for him, asshole or not.”

After a year away at school, Kennedy Monroe has returned and will be going to college with those she grew up with. The one problem, the root of ALL her problem, Dane Winters. Aside from a decades old family dispute, Dane has personal reasons as well for why he hates Kennedy. The problem with hating her though, he was also kinda in major lust with her too!

“Kennedy was a drug to me, my own personal brand of cocaine. It was twisted. But it was us.”

Dane has done nothing but cause Kennedy problems for as long as she can remember. He goes out of his way to make her life a living hell and lucky for her when she moves into her new down guess who her neighbor is. While she has taken his torment for years when she returned from Georgia this year she did so with a brand new backbone, and for some crazy reason this along with Kennedy being the most beautiful girl he has seen turns him on like nothing else.

“I was an imbalanced combination of pissed, and turned on. I was a bastard, I knew that, but my body clearly didn’t get that memo. Either that, or my dick ignored the fucking post-it that read ‘Kennedy Monroe doesn’t make you hard'”

But Dane is an asshole with a grudge and while they have chemistry and the times they are alone together are HOT that is all it can be. Fleeting hot moments because their families and their past cement them to be nothing more! While sneaking around these two grow more attached but when all the secrets are out there can what they have survive or are they destined to be enemies forever?

“He’d completely obliterated me. One. Fractured. Piece. At. A. Time.”

The Line Between was a fast and easy read with just enough angst to keep the story going. The only thing about the story that was hard for me was how similar it was to The Falling Away series, but then again as it is said there are no original idea anymore. Everything has been done before and being a first book by a young new author I think this one was a great start! I have to say I am actually even more excited for book two, Jade and Reid’s story, I just have a feeling it is going to be a good one!
