Synopsis
What happens when a bad-boy celebrity rocker meets a small-town bestselling novelist? Find out in this first book in the sizzling new True series by Liora Blake!
While most novelists would consider jetting off to Hollywood for a TV interview rather exciting, small-town Montana writer Kate Mosely finds it all a bit exhausting. After losing her husband in a car accident where she was behind the wheel, Kate has finally found her bearings in the world again, rebuilding a simple but stable life. And even if that means a lot of lonely nights watching old movies and quiet days writing obituaries for her hometown newspaper, Kate’s not sure she’s ready for her life to change—again.
Until she shares the stage—and a whole heap of carnal gazes—with rock star Trevor “Trax” Jenkins. Despite his intimidating on-stage bravado, underneath it Kate discovers a man with a Rilke poem tattooed on his arm, an appreciation for cronuts, and a snarky wit that matches her own.
As she and Trevor explore their heated chemistry, the scarred parts of Kate’s heart begin to heal, making room for a love so passionate it makes her want long-forgotten things equal parts naughty, heart-swelling, and joyful. But when a searing exposé in a trashy gossip magazine sends Kate running, will it threaten their chances at forever?
Review
“Why are you fighting this so hard?” “I don’t understand why I feel this why about you. So fast, so much, all at once. I’ve never been like this.”
This book completely surprised me. I was guessing from the cover and blurb that I was in for a easy fun rocker meets country novelist book but what I got was a extremely HOT book about a boy from the projects turned hard core rocker and a damaged widow turned novelist. These two could not have been more different or more perfect for each other. Full of sweet moments, stressful angst and supremely steamy sex True North is a great debut.
“Fuck, watching you dance is the sexiest thing I’ve seen in a long time, Kate.”
Kate has spent the years since her husbands death alone and focusing on her writing career. When her book becomes a best seller and she is forced to go to LA for a talk show she discovers a subtle chemistry with the other guest on the show, Trax. For his part Trax, or Trevor as he is known outside of the spotlight was refreshing. Open and honest and sweet and endearing he still somehow came off very alpha and in control while giving Kate everything she needs and wants out of their relationship. Clearly the pursuer to skittish Kate, Trevor is patient and kind. Trevor and Trax could not be more different but let me tell you when her lets Trax out in the bedroom . . . whoo . . . . HOT!
“Hold on. Are we fighting? He sighs. “I guess. I’m a little bit turned on with all the yelling, which will hopefully lead to make-up sex, which probably means we’re fighting.”
I don’t know why I went into this with pre-conceived notions of what kind of “rocker” book this would be, but it was so much more than I was expecting. It was sexier, more dramatic and Trevor was just . . .well more! For a new author Liora Blake has delivered a story that will have you falling in love and laughing all along the way!
