Talk Dirty To Me by Lulu Wright Review
4 Smooches!
Synopsis
Mark Carrington already broke my heart once.
This sexy, temperamental playboy might dominate the major leagues, but there’s no way in hell I’m letting him play ball with my heart again.
Until I find myself facing him down every morning on our new radio show, and his undeniable hotness starts to break down my resistance–and almost erase all the memories of how he dumped me back in high school.
We’ve both grown up since then, and now Mark is even more gorgeous and infuriating than ever. But I can’t get away from him–not when my beloved alternative rock station depends on his sexy ass to avoid getting bought out by a greedy corporation.
But when he corners me in the production room to compliment my sexy radio voice and admire my David Bowie T-shirt, it’s all I can do to keep my clothes on and my hands off of him. So I don’t.
And the more I get to know him, the more I realize he’s hiding a big heart behind all that swagger. And the deeper we get, the deeper I fall.
REVIEW
Rose and Mark have a history together. Each of them have a different idea on how things were back in high school but either way Rose was left feeling hurt and broken hearted. Rose is adamant she won’t let Mark into her heart (or panties) again! But when Mark has to work at her radio station for a few weeks, things definitely start to heat up between them and staying apart from each other isn’t as easy as Rose thought it would be. And the longer they spend together, maybe Rose doesn’t want to be apart from Mark at all?
“I have reached a new level of mad, sad horniness.”
This was such a fun, flirty, entertaining read. It really kept me laughing the whole way through and the chemistry and back and forth banter between Mark and Rose was so much fun to read!
“He pulls me close to him and his hot, naked chest against mine drives me wild. I can feel every inch of those pecs on my tits, his washboard abs hard against my stomach, digging into me, our hip bones colliding.”
Rose was a great character for me. She was feisty and sassy. Despite the spark between her and Mark, she wasn’t about to roll over and forgive everything with just a few of Mark’s smiles and flirty behaviour. She really stood up for herself and gave just as good as she got!
“I want her to beg for my cock. I want her to lose track of the world, she’s so lost in ecstasy. I want to watch her come again and again and know it’s me driving her mad…and I want to hear her say she wants to be here with me too.”
I feel like Mark might be marmite for some people. I did liked Mark, I thought he was funny and cocky and confident which are things I find attractive in our heroes (in the right measure of course) but I could see why some people might get annoyed by the things he says. I personally really enjoyed his and Rose’s connection when they were on the radio and he was definitely a flirty, sexy, make-you-want-to-drop-your- panties kind of male lead!
“My hands squeeze into fists and so does my heart. I am back in a swirl of anxiety and sadness. I hear Geo’s words in my head as she fed me the best s’mores she ever made. “You got this, Rose.”
Yeah. I got this. I am a Rose, which means I’ve got thorns.”
This was such an easy read that you could enjoy on a Sunday afternoon, when what your looking for is a fun, sexy read. It will make you laugh, smile, sigh, maybe shed a few tears and shake your kindle in anger, but generally you will leave this story feeling happy and romantic.

Well… she thinks she knows based on marathon sessions of her favorite television show.
Now she’s all grown up and ready to nail the last stud, Hunter Hart.
REVIEW
This was my first time reading M.C. Cerny, and I went into this story liking the premise considering I am a fan of these types of shows on television. I also love the whole friends-to-lovers trope, so Love Under Construction sounded like it would be right up my alley.
It was cute and sweet and funny, for the most part. But something, and honestly, I can’t put my finger on what exactly it was that was missing for me, but something was. I had difficulty connecting with Taylor Jane and Hunter and trouble feeling the connection between them as more than friends, and as a result it just wasn’t what I hoped it was going to be. There were some sections where I struggled with the urge to skim over what I was reading, and on several occasions, I found myself not enjoying what I was reading enough that I needed to put the book down and walk away. It actually took me several days to even get through the book, and well, that’s just not me at all. I’m the type of person who reads at least one book a day, sometimes more.
It’s not all bad news, though. It was well written and edited, and I did laugh at some of the humor. There were things about this book that I enjoyed, and because of that, I will definitely give this author another try at a later date. Truthfully, I think this is one of those personal preference issues, an “it’s me and not the book” kind of thing or maybe even it was that I was having an off couple of reading days, which happens to all of us as readers sometimes. I think if you’re a fan of a friends-to-lovers storyline, or if the premise of this book (which I really did love the sound of!) interests you, you should give it a try, and hopefully it’ll work better for you than it did for me. But whatever the reason, ultimately there was just a bit more that didn’t work for me personally than there were things that did, and because of that Love Under Construction by M.C. Cerny gets 3.5 smooches from me.

My head shook absentmindedly as I tried to comprehend all that he had told me.
Knowing the man Lucas was behind the darkness, I couldn’t grasp why he had ever fought to get into this life at all.
“I’d been wondering what had happened in your life to make you into the devil I saw so often at the beginning,” I began, my voice soft . . . almost hesitant. “But now I wonder how you were able to remain you, instead of letting the devil completely consume you.”
“Don’t ever make the mistake of thinking that that part of me isn’t there.”
“I couldn’t,” I said honestly and huffed a small laugh. “He’s always there . . . I see you fighting him all the time. Now, more than I have in a long time.”
He held my stare, and his dark eyes burned with something I couldn’t define. “You’re afraid of me.”
I wished in that moment for my room so I could have something to hide behind, at least for a minute, because I knew I couldn’t hide any of the emotions coursing through me, and I couldn’t lie to him. “Yes,” I whispered and hated that he seemed to not only expect my answer but accept it. Reaching out, I traced around the outer edge of his eye, thankful I wasn’t shaking. “I’m afraid of the eyes I’m looking into right now. I’ve been afraid of them for a long time. I’m afraid of what I know about you now, but I wonder if I haven’t always known. If you haven’t hinted at it before . . .”
“Briar—”
“But the things you see in your mind that force me to see these eyes? They’ve been there this whole time. They were there when I fell in love with you, and I knew when I fell that they would always be there.” I watched as he fought with whatever haunted him and lowered myself back onto the bed and curled against his side. “The darkest part of your soul can terrify me, but it won’t cause me to leave.”
He gripped my hand in his, and mumbled, “Sometimes I wish it would.” Before I could react or respond, he continued. “If you think I’m dangerous, maybe you understand what my life is like, and maybe you can grasp the danger in throwing out the rules for you. Eventually someone other than William will see what you mean to me. And with who we are and what we do, we all have so many enemies who’ve been waiting for a chance to get back at us—to hurt us.” He raised our joined hands to kiss my wrist and let his lips linger on the skin there. “We don’t have weaknesses, Briar, but you are mine. They’ve been waiting for you.”
Molly grew up in California but now lives in the oh-so-amazing state of Texas with her husband, daughter, and fur babies. When she’s not diving into the world of her characters, some of her hobbies include hiking, snowboarding, traveling, and long walks on the beach … which roughly translates to being a homebody with her hubby and dishing out movie quotes. She has a weakness for crude-humored movies and fried pickles, and loves curling up in a fluffy comforter during a thunderstorm … or under one in a bathtub if there are tornados. That way she can pretend they aren’t really happening.

Review
Briar can’t believe what has happened to her, her perfect life has been ripped away from her. She herself has been taken against her will and sold to a dark and dangerous man. Lucas was never meant to buy Briar and he has no business having the feelings he has for her. But is all as it seems? Is Lucas just a dark and evil man or is there more behind this exterior and is Briar’s feelings for Lucas turning from hate, lust to something more?
“We’re a battle of the brightest day and the darkest night—and I want to lie in the wake of our war.”
This was a dark, gritty, dirty and sometimes disturbing book- there is no way around that. The subject matter is not for the faint hearted but if you are a fan of dark reads like I am then you will love this book! Yes it’s dark but it is also much more and everything really isn’t at it seems especially when it comes to Lucas.
“But I’d been happy with our life and excited for the days to come. Until they didn’t. Until I was forced into a world I’d been blind to and came face to face with the devil. A man cloaked in darkness—a man who would set me free. A man hidden in a world I vowed to destroy with him by my side.”
Briar and Lucas were both captivating characters. I truly believed Briar was beyond brave despite knowing she was truly terrified sometimes. She didn’t let her fear completely take over and she always remained a bit defiant which was amazing in her circumstances. Lucas is one complicated character. You hate him in the beginning because of what he has done but even from the beginning you know deep down he isn’t all evil, that he isn’t actually wanting to do what he is doing.
“I had given my heart to a man who had no intention of giving his to me. As much as I wanted to believe that he could, I wasn’t sure he was capable of such things. Because he is darkness. He is the devil … … and I love him. Devastating.”
I definitely had very mixed emotions when it came to Lucas and their relationship in general. But that’s one of the things I loved about this story, the range of emotions this story stirred in me. The rage, sadness, desperation, heat, passion, confusion….I literally felt everything! There were so many shocking moments, things I didn’t see coming. It kept me gripped from start to finish and right up until the end I didn’t know where we were going to end up.

He got it.
He finally got it.
He got why John Lennon left the Beatles for Yoko.
He got why Dred wrote a love song for Pixie.
From the moment Jordan’s lips touched Lexi’s, he couldn’t imagine anything else feeling and tasting quite so perfect for the rest of his life.
He ran his tongue along the seam of her lips and she groaned, opening for him. He thrust his hands further into her hair as their tongues touched. She tasted of wine and sweetness, and he couldn’t get enough.
While her eyes were closed, his were open, unwilling to miss a single moment of what was happening between them. He angled her head, and she rose up on her toes to meet him. He thought he was going to faint as the blood rushed from his brain to his cock, which ached for contact.
Lexi’s arms wound their way around his waist, her hands finding the way under his leather jacket and sweater to rest upon his back. Skin on skin. How he wanted them to be. Naked. Exposed. Nothing between them as he made love to her in a huge bed that they could stay in for days.
Except he didn’t have a huge bed. And he didn’t have the kind of room she deserved to stay in. He had an attic. And a box under his bed that held his most treasured possessions that nobody else would understand. A secondhand copy of Scales, Chords & Arpeggios, and the first birthday card he ever received from Maisey and Ellen. Random shit nobody else would care about.
Jordan pulled away slowly and looked carefully at Lexi. Her lips were pink and plump, her cheeks flushed, her eyes wide.
“Jordan,” she whispered.
“I gotta go. Bye, Lexi,” he said. He needed to get home and then drink enough to forget about her. Banish the stupid idea swirling around in his mind that they could have any kind of relationship. He should never have kissed her. It was hard enough to walk away before, but now that he had a clearer idea of what it was he was actually walking away from, it hurt all the more.
“Wait,” Lexi said as she grabbed his arm.
The small voice in his brain told him to keep walking, but he couldn’t. Instead, he turned to see what she wanted.
Lexi grabbed a pen from her purse, the one she had given him to sign the napkin in the restaurant. She reached for his hand and turned it over so his palm was facing up and quickly scribbled something on it. When she was done, she stood on her tiptoes again and kissed his cheek.
Weakness was a new sensation, but he felt it down to his boots as, against his better judgment, he leaned his cheek ever so slightly toward her lips.
“Good night, Jordan,” she said and bounced up the porch, grabbing her hat from the chair where Jordan had tossed it.
She paused in the doorway to wave good-bye and then closed the door silently shut.
Only when he was certain that she was definitely gone did he allow himself the luxury of seeing what she had written on his hand. It was a phone number. Despite himself, he felt a murmur of excitement that she found him worthy of a second date.
Jordan turned toward home. As snow began to fall again, he hurriedly made the short hike across the Don Valley river and ravine to his neighborhood, trying to halt the avalanche of emotions because of ten hand-scribed digits.
