Synopsis

Find out if rock sensation Simon can break through tough-girl Devon’s steely exterior—if he can keep his head on straight, that is—in this second sizzling romance in the True series!

Devon Jenkins is a feisty blonde, and Simon Cole is the arrogant, sexy guitarist playing in her brother’s band. When they met for the first time, it went something like this: He hit on her, she shot him down, he made a lewd joke, she told him he was an idiot.

In the two years since then, not much has changed. From the way Simon flirts shamelessly with any set of ovaries within a 100-mile radius, Devon knows the smartest thing she can do is keep an impenetrable wall between them.

But sometimes the smart choice isn’t necessarily the right one…

Review

“Here in this tiny room, all the versions are colliding in front of me: rich Simon, snarky Simon, sexy Simon, nice Simon. Too many Simons in one room, that’s for sure.”

Let’s start by saying that True Devotion is a rocker book done right. Choosing not to focus on the trials and tribulations of being a famous rocker and instead focus on the character development and relationship between Simon (the sexy rocker) and Devon (his band mate and best friend’s little sister.) Sexy, hilarious and angsty True Devotion was a surprise that made my week. I really enjoyed the first book in the series so I knew I would like True Devotion but in no way was I expecting a book I would completely fall in love with and see myself reading again and again.

“Who knows if this thing between us can ever be more than giving each other orgasms and a hard time, but in the hush of now, I don’t care.”

We got glimpses of Devon and Simon in the first book, constantly bickering, picking on each other all the while flirting shamelessly. It was obvious from the beginning that these two were attracted to each other but fighting it scared for the change in dynamic to their group. After two years of waiting Simon knows the time to make her his is finally here and all he has to do is get rough around the edges, Devon, on track with his plan.

“Two way street, sweetheart. If you want it rough in the morning and gentle at night, I’ll give it to you. If you want me to talk dirty to you for hours and then lick you for days, that sounds awesome. If you want to play naughty bread baker and horny flour delivery guy, I’m game.”

Simon is the nerdy rocker of my dreams. Geeky at home and a rocker when in the spotlight he is silly and fun and one hell of a great dirty talker to boot. I loved every moment I spent falling for him in the pages of this book and when it was over I was already eager to read it again. Devon fights turning this sexy fling into a real relationship but no one is immune to the charm that is Simon and soon she finds herself unable to stay away. What I loved most about Devon is that she is not perfect by a long shot. She makes mistakes and often takes too long to see what we saw all along but watching her grow and accept both Simon and herself as she is a joy and felt very real.

“You’ve been my Devon since the first second I met you. I just needed you to get on board with the fucking plan.”

Liora Blake is quickly establishing herself as an author that I follow and eagerly await her next release. Each book I read by her is better than the last and I cannot wait to see what she gives us next.

If anyone can teach me just how sweet life can be, it’s him. But first, I’d have to let go.

Mase. Baywatch. Mayhem.

I’m known by many names, but there’s only one that stirs panic and worry in my gut every time I’m called it.

Synopsis

From New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Vi Keeland comes a steamy new standalone novel about a rockstar. Or two.

Dimpled smile of a boy
Hard body of a man
Sings like an angel
Fucks like the devil

I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place.

At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall. At twenty-five his body hovered over mine. Every girl’s fantasy became my reality. I was dating a rockstar. Yet I was slowly falling for another man. The problem was—the two men—they shared a tour bus.

Flynn Beckham was the opening act.
Dylan Ryder was the headliner.

What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake?

I’ll tell you what happens. Things get ugly.

Review

The daughter of a famous rock star and a famous rock ‘n roll drummer, Lucky owns a karaoke bar, named after her, that was purchased by her drummer father when he left the road and the rock star lifestyle behind to put down some roots and give his daughter young daughter some stability. Life on the road, living on a tour bus, had been the norm for Lucky and her dad, and when he made the decision to leave it behind, Lucky’s mom chose to continue pursuing her career as a famous rocker.

That is one beautiful man.”

Flynn Beckham is a rock star in the making. Gorgeous, humble, sweet and sexy, this man is a talented musician. He meets Lucky at her bar one night, the spark between them ignites and a connection is made. A natural flirt, Flynn doesn’t realize the girl he’s met, the one he can’t stop thinking about, is Dylan Ryder’s girlfriend, the lead singer of Easy Ryder, the band that his band, In Like Flynn, is about to join on tour as their opening act.

I’m going to make you forget that there’s anyone else.”

Like millions of teenage girls everywhere, as a young girl Lucky developed a crush on Dylan Ryder. She had his poster on her wall, and she met him at the bar. Years later they met again and Lucky began to date the rocker ten years older than her. Lucky thought she was in love, she thought she had everything that she wanted, she thought she was living her dream. Until she met Flynn.

Flint to spark. Fire.”

Flynn was smitten with Lucky from their very first meeting. Those feelings only intensified as they got to know each other while on tour with Easy Ryder. Lucky is confused by her feelings for Flynn – she’s in love with Dylan, right? – but she can’t help the attraction she feels for him. Over the month that they’re on tour and working together, her feelings continue to grow, her attraction continues to deepen, and she is very slowly giving in to it.

The question isn’t what are we going to do. It’s what are you going to do. Because I’m right here waiting for you to figure it out.”

Lucky is consumed by guilt, Flynn is consumed with desire, and Dylan is consumed with his own ego. He is not a very nice guy, he’s got a monster-sized ego, but the aging rocker seems to be almost jealous of Flynn’s youth, good looks and talent that rivals his own, and, as a result, he treats Flynn terribly. He treats Lucky almost indifferently, but yet still possessively. She is the perfect candidate to be his wife: she’s the child of rock and roll royalty, she’s laid back and she’s gorgeous. Even with all of that, it’s not enough for him to stop living as a single rock god, though he does so more discreetly. Readers should know that this story contains infidelity, which is a big trigger for a lot of people. I’m typically not a fan of cheating in the books I read; however, I won’t avoid what looks to be an interesting book otherwise simply because it contains cheating. Vi Keeland handled this issue well, and it’s truly an essential part of the plot line. I was not bothered by it at all, and I believe that most people will take into consideration all of the circumstances that play into this piece of the plot.

We’re two souls colliding, rocking as one person, doing something I never realized I hadn’t done before. Making love.”

Vi Keeland created a sweet and swoony rocker in Flynn and a truly likable heroine in Lucky. It was a well-written story, and it gets a solid 4 smooches from me!

I found the man of my dreams. Only this time, he was real.”

Synopsis

After his mother dies, rock star Ace White—lead singer of the red-hot band Wicked White—is done with the celebrity game. The phony people, the meaningless one-night stands: he doesn’t want any of it anymore. Quitting in the middle of a sold-out tour, Ace sets out to find some place—any place—where he can be alone.

Aspiring singer Iris Easton’s life has never been easy. First, her mother walked out on her when she was a kid. Now she’s buried in debt, weeks after losing her beloved grandmother. When a mysterious and sexy new guy moves in next door, Iris can’t help but be drawn to his soulful gaze. She can tell there’s something from his past haunting him—something he’s not telling her.

Just as Ace starts falling for Iris, the media go on a worldwide hunt to find the missing rocker. Will true love conquer all, or will the truth be the very thing that tears the couple apart?

Review

“I don’t hate you. I just need to stay from you.”

I have long been a fan of Michelle Valentine’s books and was eagerly awaiting the release of her newest hot rocker Ace White. Wicked White is a fast read that will have you quoting Shakespeare and demanding your own rocker recluse.

“You should stay away from that guy, Iris. He seems like nothing but trouble to me – sexy trouble, but trouble nonetheless.”

Pop Rock sensation Ace White has just walked out on his band, his tour and his rock and roll lifestyle when his foster mom gets sick. Upon her death he decides to spend some time hiding out in a tiny town in a run down trailer park run by Iris Easton. Iris is home and running the trailer park since the death of her Granada. Putting her Broadway dreams on hold till things settle down she is thrown off course by the new tenant, the mysterious and sometimes mean Ace Johnson. Determined to stay away and not drag Iris into the drama that is his public life, Ace is constantly pushing her away until he just cannot resist anymore. Can these two follow their dreams and find happiness with their roots in the midst of a media storm.

“This girl is a fucking angel.”

While not my favorite Michelle book, Wicked White is still a well written easy read that will keep you turning the pages. Overall, I enjoyed the book but for me personally I think if the book was from just Iris’s POV I would have enjoyed it a bit more. Having both point of views left me with little secrets to discover and not quite enough angst.

“Tomorrow will be the start of our forever.”

If you are a fan of hot rockers and swoony heroes Ace White is a man you need to meet but for me Iris is the true star of this book. She is strong willed, independent and does not put her dreams and life on hold for anyone.

I accepted a stiff drink from Rebel-Mae, the funky punk bartender with the glow-in-the-dark pink fauxhawk, forgetting for a moment I was the Grade-A beef in the joint. No sooner than I took my first sip of Jack, women surrounded me, pressing against me, panting all over me.
I couldn’t very well leave the clients out in the cold. I slung an arm around one of them and smiled at another, raising my eyes in a help-me expression across the bar toward Rebel-Mae when something familiar snagged my gaze.

I did a double take. Then a triple look.

Then my legs almost collapsed out from under me. My heart went sluggish. My body felt cold. My gaze stopped on none other than Sadie my-motherfucking-best-friend Grace.

Holeeey Shit.

She stared at me with wide unblinking eyes and pink spots on her cheeks.

Everything got real hot, real fast. I hadn’t been this nekkie in front of my best girl since . . . oh yeah . . . never. I was acutely aware of that fact as Sadie’s eyes coasted painstakingly from the top of my head all the way to my toes like she was taking inventory.

My heart returned to its normal rhythm then it decided to go one better and jackhammer in my chest. I returned Sadie’s stare with the same scrutiny. No wonder I hadn’t picked her out in the crowd. Sitting about five feet away from me, she looked like a complete stranger . . . a very sexy stranger.

Sadie usually wore paint-splattered coveralls, torn jeans, and baggy T-shirts with her thick hair braided down her back. Tonight her hair hung loose and straight as a sunbeam. It reminded me of the beach at Isle of Palms—a mixture of white gold and sun-spun brown, little sparks of red filtered in. Soft and silky and silty.

It wasn’t just the hair that blew me away. Sadie had curves all of a sudden. Where the hell had those come from? The killer dress was the same turquoise blue as her eyes and made her irises stand out all the more. The dress? Oh man, it was silk or something, cinched at her waist with a straight skirt that didn’t go low enough on her thighs as far as I was concerned. And the top? That was no better. The neckline needed to be a lot higher, turtleneck high, come to think of it. As it was, the damn thing hugged what looked like perfectly round tits, a suspicion supported by the fact a tight V of tawny cleavage was very, very visible.

Finally—dear Lord—her long willowy legs ended in inappropriately strappy, high heels. Not her standard, sexy Fox Racing Moto-X boots. This was not the regulation Sadie uniform I was used to. Her outfit definitely affected the blood pounding through my body—loudly in my ears and coursing lower at an alarming rate to my cock. My cock that was barely covered in black mesh. Yeah, it was about to bulk up.

Sadie only glanced away from me when one of her group tapped her on the shoulder. The chicks giggled and whispered, and my worst fears were soon confirmed. It was a bachelorette party. Yep, one of the babes wore a veil and a white sash that read: Bridezilla! Tall glasses littered the table, and out of each one popped every bride-to-be’s favorite party favor: a plastic penis straw. The women were well lubricated, well on their way to Happyville with a trip to Hangover City in the morning.

Sadie didn’t look happy. Not one bit.

I’d thought her discovering my dirty little secret was the worst of it.

I was proven wrong in the next instant when Sadie’s crazed posse pointed at me, chanting, “LAP DANCE! LAP DANCE! LAP DANCE!”

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

But no. It got a million times worse when Bride-fucking-zilla (that shit was no joke apparently) got up, drunk-swayed over to me, and pushed me at Sadie.

“With her!” Bridezilla shouted as I stumbled in Sadie’s direction.

“WHAT?” I caught myself moments before I face-dived between Sadie’s legs, rocked backward, and then quickly moved clear to the other side of the table. Where my ass was immediately pinched.

Bridezilla looked expectantly at me then Sadie.

“What?” Sadie echoed my question.

“Well, you two can’t keep your eyes off each other,” said the blonde wifey-to-be. “Might as well get your hands in on the action too.”

This can’t be happening . . .

Jesus fucking Christ.

Yahoo! said my cock.

That thing needed a choke on it.

Older brother/best friend? I felt none of those things all of a sudden, especially when Sadie looked in my direction and slowly wet her lips.

Maybe shock and horror wasn’t quite what she was feeling after all.

I was definitely hot-faced, and no way did I want to give my best friend—my hottie hot best friend—a freakin’ lap dance. Unfortunately the rules were the rules.

“Gotta go change first,” I mumbled.

Review

Kinkaid and Sadie have been friends since Sadie threw a punch and Kinkaid said he couldn’t hit girls and that’s how they became friends. But recently both have started feeling something new, something that means Kinkaid’s new job won’t sit well with Sadie and could mean the end of their friendship altogether before something new could even begin.

“She was naked, just like the first night I’d made love to her when I’d woken in the night and asked her to come back to bed. She’d been warmth and love and beauty. Now she was cold and pain . . . and still, always beautiful.”

So I’ve read the other book in this series and I really enjoyed it. This one however fell a little flat for me. There wasn’t enough excitement and it seemed like this could have been a novella because it was quite repetitive. But I did enjoy Kaid and Sadie and at the end of the day it was a sweet romance between the two.

“Just a kiss, to know what it would feel like. To have her. To hold her. To make her mine. My girl.”

Kaid was sweet and affectionate. He was kind yet still had that dangerous and sexy vibe about him. And Sadie was a strong, feisty woman who wasn’t going to let anyone walk over her and was also going to get the person she’s wanted for a while now.

“Losing my best friend sucked balls, but it hurt even worse because there was an unfamiliar ache in my chest. Like maybe I was losing something I’d never considered with her.”

The plot line was okay. It was a sweet romance but that was it. There wasn’t any real excitement of suspense like there was in the other story. And I also found it a bit repetitive. However, the sex was hot, the two leads loveable, it was a sweet romance and the other MC members I find really funny and I do look forward to getting their stories as the series progresses.

“So suddenly, it was true. It hit me in the chest like a freakin’ Cupid’s arrow. How long had I wanted to touch her, taste her, be with her, and fuck me, fuck her . . . How long without ever acknowledging it?”

Excerpt :

“Hey there,” a deep voice rumbled against my ear.
When I turned around, I was eye level with a wall of leather with white patches sewn into it. One read VICE PRESIDENT and the other, BEACH BASTARDS. The man wearing the vest had long blonde hair that draped over to one side of his head, revealing the shaved area beneath. He had a beard, not stubble, a full-on beard that was a few inches long and very well groomed. He stood well over six feet, his frame lean yet very cut and muscular. I couldn’t tell what color his eyes were because his lids hung heavy and were slightly reddened. His entire neck was covered with colorful tattoos and when he went to light a cigarette I noticed that the backs of both of his hands and were covered in ink as well.
“Hey,” I answered back, trying to assert my newly found false confidence.
He was beyond attractive. He was gorgeous. If I had to end up in someone’s bed, I imagined that being in his wouldn’t be half-bad. He sniffled, drawing attention to the light dusting of white powder trapped in his nostrils.
“They call me Bear. You belong to anyone?” he asked seductively, leaning in toward me.
“Maybe…you?” I winced at my choice of words. Of all the fucking things I could have said, THAT was what came to mind? Stupid fucking mouth. Nikki was right. I spoke first and thought second.
Bear chuckled. “I’d love that, beautiful, but I got something else in mind.”
“Oh, yeah? What would that be?” I asked, trying to keep my tone light although my mind and heart were racing.
“This party? It’s for my buddy. And he was down here for a total of thirty minutes before he hightailed it upstairs to drown himself in a bottle of Jack. He’s like a cat in a tree, can’t seem to talk him down. It’s understandable, seeing as he’s been away a while, but I figure you can help me out.”
He hooked his finger into the front of my skirt and slowly dragged me toward him until my nipples were flush up against his chest. He pressed his fingers into the skin right above my public bone and I resisted the urge to jump back by biting down on my bottom lip.
“The BBB’s have never really been his thing.” He paused when he saw the confused look on my face at his abbreviation. “Beach Bastard Bitches.” He explained. “But you? You’re new. You’re different. You’ve got this cute little innocent thing going on, but I know you’re not or you wouldn’t be at this kind of party if that was your deal. I’m thinking he’ll like you.” Bear brushed his lips against the side of my neck. “So maybe you go up there. Make him happy for me. Make little him happy by wrapping those gorgeous lips around his cock for a while. Then when you’re done, bring him back down here to civilization. And maybe later, if you’re a good girl and do what you’re told, we can go back to the clubhouse and have some real fun.” He grazed his teeth along my earlobe. “Think you can you do that for me?”
“Yeah, yeah I can do that,” I said. My skin prickling from his touch. And I could do it.
I think.
“What’s your name anyway?” Bear’s hand slowly traveled up the back of my leg, pushing up my skirt, it came to rest on my ass cheek, which was then exposed to anyone who might have been looking in our direction.
“Doe. My name is Doe,” I breathed.
“Fitting.” He said with a chuckle. “Well, my innocent looking little Doe.” Bear leaned in close and surprised me by planting a soft kiss on the corner of my mouth. His lips were soft, and he smelled like laundry detergent mixed with liquor and cigarettes. I was just beginning to think that the kiss meant that he’d changed his mind and didn’t want me to send me away to his friend, but no such luck. He pulled away abruptly and turned me around by my shoulders so that I was facing the stairs. He swatted me on my ass, propelling me forward. “Up the stairs you go, sweetheart. Last room at the end of the hallway. Be good to my boy, and me and you will get to play later.” He sealed his words with a wink and as I made my way up the stairs I turned back and flashed him a fake smile. I hoped the guy at the end of the hallway was like Bear, because then maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.
Then a thought hit me that had me fighting back the tears that sprung from my eyes with a sudden force that almost took me to my knees.
I’d officially sold myself, and the price was far more than any dollar amount.

Review

Fucking hell. That is the only way I can start off this review! Seriously. It’s because of this book that there needs to be a higher rating than 5! 5 just does not do this justice at all. I’ve seen some early reviews or just people praising this book and thought ‘hmm. this should be a good one.’ A good one? understatement of the bloody year. Now, how on earth do I review this??

“I’d been dealt all I could handle, and I was more than fucking over it.
Over being afraid. Over being hungry. Over redheaded hookers. Over being shot at.
Over this sorry excuse for a life.”
Dangerous. Dark. Delicious.
Yeah I’m pretty sure that is the only way to describe this book.  To describe the characters. To describe every part of this story. King is a criminal he does things his way with his only friends, Preppy and even Bear by his side, and he does not apologize for any of it. Sent away to prison will change a person but when he gets out he has one goal and one goal only. And he will get what he wants. No. Matter. What. He just wasn’t expecting HER.

“Last night, I thought you were a scared little girl, unable to handle what I want, what I can do, what I need. But that doesn’t matter anymore. Because now you’re my property, and I can do what the fuck I want with what’s mine.”
Doe. As in Jane Doe. With no memory of who she is or was. No one looking for her and an empty stomach and on the streets, Doe needed to do something to try and get a hold on her life. So the only friend she has brings her to a home coming party for King, where they both will try and find someone to take them in for a while. Reckless and selfish choices leave Doe in quite the predicament. Handcuffed to King’s bed. Possibly fighting for her life. And that’s exactly what she is, a fighter.

“I don’t give a fuck who you are, asshole.” I seethed. “And you’re not as smart as you seem to think you are. Tell me something, who exactly was it who appointed you judge of all people?”

A little about the other characters, well as much as I can without giving much away. There’s a couple of interesting side characters but none compared to Bear and Preppy.  Their characters were paramount to this story. I think we get more of Preppy than Bear but it’s understandably why that is, you’ll understand too when you read the book. Bear seems real laid back and nice, well nice in comparison to the others ha! but he also gives off a vibe that he takes no shit, so I’ll be looking forward to more of him for sure. Preppy! ahhh I have literally loved him since we meet the very first time. What is not to love about him. He is hilarious and has such a charm to him. There is also such a depth to him that he obviously hides up with the humor but there is just so much more to him, everything comes to life with him around and he has this energy about him, it’s so palpable. He couldn’t do any wrong in my eyes, I love him so hard and I’m not really sure what that says about me because he is a sick, sick man ha! He says something that has you laughing so hard, falling in love with him but even when he went and said something as sick as he did I still loved him, probably more to be honest.

“Don’t try and run away. Cause it doesn’t matter that you’re my friend. I’ll slit your fucking throat and leave you to rot somewhere no one would ever find you, mmmmkay?”

yeah. I still love him. He just has a way about him.
How can a book that destroys you, rips, shreds and tears every single emotion from you be the best book you ever read? T.M Frazier, that’s how. I cannot believe this is my first book of hers, but hell, what a book to start with! This was one helluva ride for sure. I’ve seen people talk about waiting for this for a while but honestly I can’t see a single person complain because… just wow. This is exactly the kind of book that will swallow you whole. After I finishing it I am physically aching, like my heart is actually aching, what an amazing book it was and it wasn’t just the ending, it was merely the fact I am jealous of everyone who is going to get to read it, and get lost in it for the first time. T.M sure brings you on a journey, the first few chapters my emotions were being pulled at and I couldn’t put it down. I read until half four in the morning, it was only when I got to that 80% mark I tried to sleep, I wanted to savor it. There are twists and turns you do not and will not expect even up to that very, very last moment, and honestly I am terrified to see how it’s going to go. This book is heartbreaking at times, it sure as hell is emotional but the funny, heart warming and sexy as sin parts, all together is amazing. I can’t see how this book will disappoint anyone and I’m more of a fluffy romance, everything should be happy, kind of reader and this was not fluffy romance! All I could think about when I was trying to sleep was this book, all I could think about when I woke up the next morning was this book. It has consumed me. Earlier this year I thought I found THE book. A book no other book would beat for me. I don’t usually pick a favourite but I can tell you now, a book will never even come close to this one. I’m going to be anxiously, excitedly, on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion to King and Doe’s conclusion to their epic story.

Author Bio:

Joanne Schwehm is a romance author who was born and raised in Western, NY. She despises being cold, but she warms up either writing or reading sexy romantic books.

She loves the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys and also enjoys playing golf (and the cute outfits that she gets to buy to wear on the course). Her motto is, “If you can’t play well, then look good trying.”

Her passions outside of the sporting world are; spending time with her family, having fun with her friends, reading, drinking coffee or diet coke and of course writing.

She studied Theater Arts in college and always wanted to be an actress, but that obviously didn’t pan out, so instead of staring in a drama, she writes them and hopes you enjoy modern day fairy tales and breathless moments.
