After we listened to his one sided argument, my girlfriends and I sat there stunned.

“Remind me to change my panties,” Dee stage whispered to Kath. When he was off the phone, the petite Dee with her dark brown hair and big blue eyes looked at Cam and said, “I will pay you every dollar in my bank account to talk that way to me.”

He jerked his head toward her. “Excuse me?”

“Your voice is like hot fudge dripping off the end of a spoon.” He did have a terrific voice.

“It’s the beard,” I said to my friends. “It makes me want to just climb up onto his face, grab onto his man-mane and take a ride. Did I just say that out loud?”

Stella Sullivan

Bright. Dedicated. Loyal.

The day I walked into his boardroom, I had no idea my life was about to change forever. It was supposed to be a simple proposal that would catapult my career. The chance to help Hurst & McCoy save one of their flailing business lines seemed simple enough. However, I never expected that one look at Maxwell McCoy would have me grasping for control. He’s demanding, charming, powerful; most of all he’s beautiful, inside and out. As hard as I fought against the attraction, he broke down my defenses. But he’s hiding things. Even when secrets, lies, and greed threaten everything I have worked so hard for, I couldn’t walk away. There’s no denying, the moment my eyes landed on Maxwell McCoy was the moment I became his.

Maxwell McCoy

Rich. Brilliant. Powerful.

People only see me as CEO of Hurst & McCoy. The ruthless businessman whose mere presence demands respect. People don’t know I chose to leave a life I loved in order to protect my father’s legacy and reputation. When my company’s future was threatened, I had no choice but to seek assistance. The day Stella Sullivan walked into my boardroom was the day my heart started beating again. One business proposal, from the topaz-eyed beauty, changed my life. She tried to deny our unyielding chemistry, but I wouldn’t. I should let her go, but I didn’t.

The smokescreen I created soon comes crashing down, forcing me to fight for everything I love.

Stella groans lightly and rolls over. I’ve been watching her from my desk for half an hour, trying not to wake her. But as soon as she realizes my side of the bed is empty, she sits up dazed. Her head turns toward the bathroom and then turns to me.

“What are you doing?” she asks sleepily.

“Working a bit.”

“What time is it?”

“A little after seven.”

“Why the hell are you up? Do you ever sleep?” She falls back onto my bed and the sheets slip down her naked body.

I jump to my feet and make my way to her side of the bed in a second. “Yeah, I slept, then I worked out, showered, and decided to work until you woke up.”

“You worked out? Showered? What the hell is wrong with you? I thought we weren’t going anywhere this morning.”

She throws an arm over her eyes and I take the opportunity to kiss the skin up to her elbow, then pull her arm down so she has no choice but to look at me.

“I didn’t go anywhere. I have a home gym down the hall. I showered because I was gross, and we are staying here this morning. We have a meeting at ten, but until then, it’s us.”

“You have a home gym? Where?”

“Yeah, babe, there’s about two thousand square feet you’ve not seen yet. Two more rooms and a gym.”

“What?”

“Babe, you’ve only been here a few times, I haven’t had time to show you.”

“This is a whole lot of information for me this early, without coffee. Remember I’m not a morning person.”

“So you keep saying, but I love proving you wrong.” I kiss her softly and slide my hand under the sheets and down until it reaches her pelvic bone.

My fingertips run lightly back and forth from hipbone to hipbone until her breath catches. Every time I hear that small sound, I know she’s getting turned on. Then my hand slinks lower to her slick heat and I press one finger in, sliding her wetness back and forth. “You are the best morning person I know.”

“That’s because you give me orgasms before my coffee.”

Ahren spent her formative years living in an active volcano. There her family made collectible lava art. She studied rock collecting at the Sorbonne in France. There she met the love of her life-her pet pig Sybil. She returned to the states and started writing. She is happily married to a guy who used to live under a bridge and she met while pole-dancing. They have one amazing daughter.

Now, meet the real me. I grew up in the south and consider myself a true “Southerner”. Most of the special locations mentioned in my books are reflections of my favorite places. Living on the Florida coast, my family spends a lot time at the beach which is where I usually can be found with a book in my hand. I started writing my Surrender Series, in the spring of 2013 and have received incredible support from the Indie community. Throughout this year, I have been privileged to meet some amazing people that I am thankful to have in my life.

Synopsis

Blake Bentley had a rough upbringing, never fully believing he was good enough for anything or anyone. After being left with a broken heart by his only girlfriend, Blake swore off relationships for good and turned to the only two things that made him feel sufficient – sex and firefighting.

Tessa Collins was brought up in the traditional ‘perfect’ family – loving parents, great sister, and amazing friends. After falling in love with Jared, her life was perfect – until he betrayed her. She has no idea that his betrayal could end up costing her more than just a shattered heart.

Blake and Tessa have been friends since high school. Never wanting to admit their attraction for each other, the two always remained close friends. Now, three years later, Blake and Tessa find themselves being pulled together by a force much greater than friendship.

Blake and Tessa have promised to be friends forever, but as fate pulls them together, they embark on a roller coaster ride of a lifetime. Will his self doubt and her insecurities keep them apart? Or will they be able to promise each other always?

**content is for +18yrs.**

Review

Promise Me Always follows the story of Tessa and Blake, it is told from both of their POV’s and it covers both the past and the present. Tessa and Blake are friends, they have fun together, they share things with each other, and they have the promise of always staying friends. But is it really what they both want?

The first few lines in this book sucked me in “You’re worthless. A f*ing accident. You don’t deserve S*t.” I wanted to know more about the person that had been told this all their lives and what made them honestly believe that this was true. Blake is the little boy who grows to believe that this is true. He feels like he isn’t good enough, he doesn’t deserve happiness and he sure as hell doesn’t deserve someone as amazing as Tessa.

Tessa is the sweet girl who gets trampled all over by her ex, she should have seen it coming but she didn’t. Tessa gets hurt and turns to the one person who is always there for her, her sister. But going to see her matchmaker of a sister soon turns out to be the best thing that could happen for her.

Blake wants Tessa, Tessa wants Blake and an event that they attend together soon makes them both aware of how they are feeling. “I f*ing wanted this girl. No, I needed her and I was going to do everything in my power to f*ing make her mine.” Things seem to be going well for these two, although jealousy can be a nasty thing….. One night is all it takes for things to go wrong. “She loved me by the grace of God and I had just destroyed everything”

Ex’s resurface, more pain is caused, friendships are tested, relationships are pushed to breaking point and is it possible that love conquers all?

Kari March did an amazing job with this book, I loved this book. I look forward to reading the next book.

“Promise Me?” “Always, baby girl. Always.”

Synopsis

Bonjour, my name is André Chevalier. It has been my joy and my great honor to help those who have lost their way. Not long after I began my journey, I met two such wounded souls.

Renata Koreman, my little mouse. She came to me as a child—shy, mute, injured… broken. It took oh-so many years to start to bring her back to herself! Yet, I could not fully heal her.

Years later, Grant Wilkinson, he too fell into my hands. The ex-Army Ranger was badly disfigured and saw himself as a monster. Isolated by secrets, solitary and self-contained, his colleagues affectionately named him ‘Frosty.’ Yet, how should one behave when besieged by a lifetime of confusion and guilt?

The moment I saw him, I thought of her and I wondered. The eyes, they cannot always see clearly. And the heart? Ah, the heart can only guess at the truth. So it was that I remained uncertain.

Could the mouse and the monster heal each other?

Review

Grant Wilkerson is an ex-Army and Champion Marksman. His demons have ruled his life for too long and seeks out the help of André Chevalier. The abuse that Grant went through as a child has altered his ability to love and have sex without having to pay for it. André then knows the next stage helping Grant would involve a sexual surrogate. Renata Koreman has been abused as well and it’s a work in progress for her. She enjoys helping men with their sexual obstacles. The chemistry is instant between Grant and Renata but these two broken people have their issues to work through and André believes they can work on it together.
There are a lot of moving parts in this book. All characters have their issues of abuse: sexual and substance. And I honestly had a difficult time reading this book. I have enjoyed books by Nikki Sex before and this one had a different taste in my mouth. I empathized for the characters and their issues. Dark issues, as they may be, I wanted the best for the characters.  ‘Abuse’ is a very descriptive read and sometimes felt like I was reading an article about these issues. Especially when I would look at the location in the book and wonder where the love interest would be introduced.  The author comprised the book into three sections. Although we did get the character history and their stories, I was left to wonder how much longer until these two get to be together. I felt the book ended at a weird spot, almost as if the relationship was just beginning to develop. The book ended in a cliffhanger, so beware. In spite of the fact that it took some work for me to get into, I do feel there are a group of readers that will truly enjoy this book. 3.5 smooches for Abuse by Nikki Sex.

tag19Lyric steps away and laughs before walking over and stopping in front of me. She looks up into my eyes and licks her bottom lip. Her whole body is glistening with sweat now, and all I can think about is tasting every inch of her. “Dance with me, Memphis.”

I pull my eyes away from her lips and flex my jaw. As much as I want to put my hands all over, I need to fight it, but this fucking liquor isn’t doing much to help it.

“No, Lyric.”

She takes a step closer and runs her tiny, soft hand down my arm. “Just once. It’s not even a big deal. It’s just a dance. It’s not like I’m asking you to fuck me. I’m asking you to touch me.”

“You want me to touch you,” I growl. I roughly slide my hands over her hips before gripping her waist and slamming her up against the wall. Leaning in, I fist her hair in my hand and whisper in her ear. “Is this how you want me to touch you? Touching someone that I know always leads to them getting hurt.” I grip her waist tighter and press my body flush with hers. Her body trembles against mine and her breathing picks up as my bottom lip brushes over her ear. “I’m fucking tainted, Lyric. Running now would be your best option.”

She looks up into my eyes and wets her lips, fighting to catch her breath. “I. Want. You. To. Touch. Me. I’m not running anywhere.”

FUCK! Those words do me in.

Review

I do enjoy me a Victoria Ashley book.  Her boys are usually tattooed up nasty boys with good hearts.  I knew when I saw this smoking hot cover that I HAD to read Get off on the Pain!  It was a roller coaster ride for sure.

At the very beginning of this book Memphis is just getting our of prison where he has been for 6 years.  Memphis isn’t really a nice guy.  He is bad ass and alpha and keeps to himself.  He wants to escape his dark past and move forward with his life.  Lyric cannot seem to stay away from the guy who surprisingly showed up at the house across the street that has stayed vacant for years.  She finds him attractive and wants to know more about him but Memphis knows he is no good for Lyric.  He can’t escape his past no matter how he tries and he refuses to take Lyric down with him.

This book moved a little slow in the beginning for me.  I held on and at about 35%  it picked up a great deal and I did enjoy it.  I really really loved the photography sessions!  Smoking hot!

ChasingMe_Final

CHASING ME by Jennifer Probst

BOOK SUMMARY:

Quinn and James’ Story Continues in Chasing Me…

It was supposed to be a love story….

I knew she was out of my league but I didn’t care. Looking back, I wonder if I hadn’t pursued her, would things have turned out differently? Is it Fate that determines our choices in life? God? Free will? Or just plain old innate selfishness?

I got her, of course. There hadn’t been a girl I wasn’t able to seduce. Problem was she seduced me right back, body, mind, and soul. She possessed me, tormented me, and showed me a world that was so bright and pure I was almost blinded.

Didn’t she know after such a drug I could never settle for less? Didn’t she realize no matter how many times I screwed up, or broke her heart, or bent her to my will, I’d never be able to let her go?

If I hadn’t known such intensity existed, would it have been better for both of us?

True love, the real kind, isn’t nice and sweet and pure. No, it’s dirty, and sinful, and messy. It’s like ripping a chunk of flesh from your body and watching yourself bleed out in slow, helpless intervals until you thankfully pass out.

This isn’t a love story. But it’s the only story I got.

Sometimes everything you have to give just isn’t enough…

FindingYou

FINDING YOU by Jenna Bennett

BOOK SUMMARY:

Sex on the Beach, the do-over.

I had a simple plan for what to do in Key West the second time around.

Testify at the trial of the rapist I helped catch last year.

Make sure he gets locked away for the rest of his natural life, so he can never, ever hurt another girl.

Wait for my BFFs to get to town, so we can celebrate.

And stay far away from Ty Connor, because three months after breaking up with him, I still don’t know whether being with him is worse than being without him.

Spring Break, take two.

All of the above? Out the window.

Turns out testifying is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Not only is the rapist I helped catch last year not locked away for the rest of his life, he’s on the loose and looking for me.

Oh yeah, and it’s definitely harder being without Ty than being with him, especially when I have to watch him with someone else.

Welcome to my world.

Review

Cat is every bit her name, feisty, confident and flirty. But she’s been burned too many times and is too busy dealing with her asshole boss to even consider getting into a relationship. However when she acknowledges a sexy, young man named Huck who has been watching her, she decides she could have a little fun. Huck is of another mind though and knows he wants a lot more from Cat but with work, family heart-ache and ex’s causing drama, will these two ever have a chance of being together? Or will life just keep getting in the way?

“Love is a funny thing. Once you decide someone is worthy of it, you have to trust that person not to break you. And some people—most people actually—aren’t worthy of that trust.”

I think I was frustrated with this story because I feel it had the potential to be so much more. It had all the bases there so I did enjoy it, I just didn’t love it like I wish I could have.

“Cat. What a perfect goddamn name for a perfectly wild girl.”

The characters were great, there’s no denying it. Cat was so strong and feisty, I loved her. She was such a great female character, she was in charge of herself and confident. I loved how hard she worked with everything in her life like her family and friends and her work and she was always the strong person there for everyone she cared about.

“What do you need me to say? What do I need to do? I’ve been fighting my way into your heart since the first night I saw you on Venice Beach, but you’re the one that has to let me in. You have to trust me.”

Huck was her perfect balance. He was caring, gentle but still sexy and confident. He wanted to be there for Cat no matter how hard she tried to pull away and I loved that; he knew what he wanted and he was going to get his woman but keeping a mind to to her feelings and wants as well.

“I’m going to prove to you that we’re worth it. Whether you’re forbidden or not, we belong together.”

The plot is where I feel this story was let down a little. Because although there was some great sex scenes and some really heart felt moments I just don’t think they were articulated well. I felt it dragged a little sometimes and I did go through points of wanting to hurry along so I could get to the interesting parts.

This is a story with great potential with characters so likeable that they alone will draw you in. I will definitely keep an eye out for more from this author as I have a feeling her next books will just keep getting better and better.
