Wow…This book is full of twists and turns, love, drama, suspense…just a little bit of all of it.   I really liked the leading male, Jennings Cohen.  He is a famous movie star, a bonafide, uber famous actor.  But he is also recognized for being a playboy and a womanizer…hmmm  sounds like a lovely Alpha Male?

I liked the leading lady Whitley Hayes.  She is just living life, trying to figure out her personal relationships and then this man-Jennings jumps into her cab while being chased by a bunch of fans and her life as she knows it starts to change.

This is my first read by Cassie Graham.  I enjoyed her writing style.  I do have to share that in the beginning some of the book seemed “wordy” but as the book went on, it got a lot better and it kept me wanting to read and turn the pages.  🙂 There are some crazy twists and turns that would just pop up and I was like…umm what just happened here? or where did this just come from??  But all in all I did like the way the book flowed.  I definitely recommend this book 🙂

Rae Grove is on an adventure in Paris, kind of. She is on a job in Paris, but for someone who has never traveled before this is very much an adventure. A chance to be someone new. Primarily, Georgette Montgomery, the finace of rich and sexy Cohen. Cohen needs Rae to be his pretend fiancé in order to look more stable (his bad boy ways catching up on him. What Rae didn’t count on was Cohen being a GIANT ass to her or him being as sexy as he is. What Cohen, hater of people, didn’t count on was growing to like Rae.

“I didn’t buy a rose for Georgette Montgomery, I bought one for Rae Grove.”

I loved this fresh sexy twist on a working girl, Pretty Woman, story! Rae knows she is just a prostitute and while it is clear in some ways she is still an insecure little girl, in so many more ways she is a confident, fun and kind person. She makes it her goal to help teach Cohen how to be a decent person. OMG I loved the idea of the prostitute teaching the rich man how to be a good person!

“It takes about half a minute for my second orgasm to come. But Cohen doesn’t rest until he’s coaxed out a third. And a fourth.”

LA Rose is one of those authors you wish more people would discover, Her books are witty, unique and fun and always a pleasure to read! I read this book in one sitting and very much enjoyed every moment of it!

Can Penny Reid do any wrong? NOPE! Scenes from the city is a perfect little Christmas gift from Penny to all us Knitting in the City obsessed folks! We get to dive into a scene with each couple we have fallen in love with so far and get a peak of them we hadn’t seen before! Now here is my only problem with this fast read . . . it wasn’t fast, with each and every scene I read I found myself re-reading or at least skimming the original book. What should have taken me an hour or two to read took 3 WONDERFUL days!

I can honestly never get enough of these smart, witty and amazingly fun characters! When offered an early copy of this Christmas Surprise set of stories I not only jumped at the chance I might have even yelped a bit! The part of Penny’s couples that I like most is that even though they all share some similarities (I mean they are all friends so they do have things in common) each set is very unique from the other. One book boyfriend is vastly different in personality from the next so I am always surprised by what I get and I never get bored!

The variety in characters in Penny’s books also carries over to this collection. Each scene is very different from the others. Some are in the future, some in the past and some right where we left off! I loved that while a few were very sexy there were also ones that were just as much sweet and hilarious. I never got bored or reading the short scenes as I sometimes do with novellas or short stories!

Highlight of this collection though was meeting Fiona and Greg and while their story (which cannot come out soon enough for me) takes place in the current this glimpse into them takes place years ago in college when they meet and trust me, TRUST ME, you don’t want to miss this reserved girl and the outgoing boy meeting! I love them already and I am actually kind of mad at Penny for making me love them and then have to wait for them!

Through out it all my favorite part of the whole thing was how Penny introduced “Beauty and the Beard” by saying “Also, it has sexy times. So  . . . yeah <3 Penny”She gets me! She really gets me! As always I am enamored with Penny’s talent and my girl crush on her is only growing by the day!

Now I love me a great Vampire story but throw in some witches and boy am I hooked! I love this series so much and was so excited when this arrived on my kindle. C.C, Wood does a fabulous job of weaving a story full of plot twist, humor, and some of the sexiest vamps around!

“NO! You are mine, Kerry, my mate, and I will not let you put yourself in harm’s way!”

Kerry and Finn’s story is not an easy one but damn if it isn’t a great one! Finn has no doubt that Kerry is it for him but with her being a witch and moving up in the coven and him being a vampire she is very reluctant to get involved Witches and Vampires do not mix and the two of them getting together would change everything about their worlds. But sometimes change is necessary. War is brewing in the paranormal community and Kerry and all her friends are in the dead center. She has to decide how deep she is willing to go for those she loves and the people she believes in.

Now, I need to talk Finn for a minute. Even his name is sexy! He is an amazing mix of controlling and understanding. Strong willed and giving. Alpha and kind. DAMN! I want one! When Kerry avoids him he forces his way into her dreams. When she runs from him, he chases. And when she is at her wits end and about to break he holds her up. I loved him. I want him. On top of all that he is as sexy as they come and can spew out some great dirty talk too!

C.C.’s Bitten was my first taste of Paranormal Romance and every book in the series has made me fall more and more in love with this genre. The stories are so wonderfully intricate and well thought out that it is nearly impossible to put them down and each one makes me want to fun to C.C. and yell at her to go write me some more! (BTW now I desperately NEED a werewolf book, just saying) While this story can easily be read as a standalone I highly recommend reading the whole series since they are all just as great!

It sometimes surprised people how effectively I could tune out the world when I fell into a great read. I didn’t do it in the company of others often because, well, it was pretty rude. My family knew they could talk at me for twenty minutes and I wouldn’t process a word of what they’d said. Ethan had not had the dubious honor of witnessing it.

“Are you reading porn?” he whispered really loudly over my shoulder, startling me into actually dropping the Kindle onto my lap. 

I fumbled to keep it from falling to the floor. “What? No!” I whispered back, laughing. “Are you reading over my shoulder?”

“I’ve been trying to talk to you for the past five minutes, and you haven’t heard a word I said. I figured I should see what had you so captivated.”

I started to giggle. “It’s not porn. It’s romance!”

“Romance.” He scoffed. “So you would consider it romantic if my huge cock slapped you in the face?”

I let out an incredibly loud bark of laughter, drawing looks from surrounding passengers. “That is not what it says!” I smacked him in the chest.

“Go on. Enlighten me then.”

“It’s about the emotions, you asshole! The feelings people have when they fall in love. The man who would never settle down finding his other half, who makes him realize he needs no one but her. If a penis inadvertently smacks someone in the face”—I shrugged, grinning wickedly—“well, so be it.”

“I still haven’t decided if that’s a good thing or not,” I muttered.

 

I live in beautiful Northern Virginia with my incredible husband, two awesome kids, three dogs, and two budgies. My husband and I both grew up riding and competing horses and have our own equestrian operation that we run together. In my spare time, I read through the hundreds of stories awaiting me on my e-reader.

My love of books started early, and my mom used to ration my reading time so I didn’t go through them too quickly. I love all things romantic, whether it’s dark or light or silly or dirty, but I really love a happy ending!

In my small moments of quiet time, you’ll find me sipping on wine and reading while any movie where people randomly burst into song or dance plays in the background.

“Shiver” is C.M. Foss’s debut and she is off to a great start! I really enjoyed reading this story and I think my favorite part was the heroine Lissa. This girl is awesome! She is confidant, smart and incredibly witty. Lissa is not the type of girl to cry and whine over a guy, she just picks herself up and gets on with life. This was super refreshing after reading so many stories about girls that are just crushed by men and follow them around like little puppy dogs waiting for any scrap left behind. If you don’t have time for Lissa, Lissa doesn’t have time for you! The hero, Ethan, was really great also and these two together was perfect. The banter and chemistry between these characters was super entertaining.

My only issue with this book was that it felt a little disjointed. The first 70-75% of the book was a fun and steamy love story and then for the last 25-30% of the book we fast forward 2 years and it feels like a completely different story. Don’t get me wrong though, I really enjoyed both parts, there was just a distinct difference that kind of threw me off at first.

Overall this was a great read with awesome characters, steamy sex, sweet romance, and funny banter. I definitely recommend it and look forward to more from C.M. Foss!
