4 Smooches!
Synopsis
From the thrilling new author of Takeover, a steamy new novel about having all the control—and losing it…
Note from the author: This is the followup to Takeover and features Justin and Eli. Sam and Michael are fairly important characters in this book as well.
Justin White may not look like an up and coming corporate superstar, but his new boss knows he has the smarts, grit, and determination to succeed. Now he just has to convince his company’s CFO, Eli Ovadia. Unfortunately, Justin can’t seem to keep his cool around the domineering Eli—and soon he finds himself taking their heat from the boardroom into the bedroom….
Still haunted by a tragic accident that left him with a wounded leg and broken heart, Eli has a need to be in control. But his desire for Justin makes him want to lose that control—and push them both far beyond their limits. But will his need to dominate Justin drive him away—or will Eli find a way to be the man he needs for both of them?
Review
Ah, I do happen to be a fan of the M/M romance genre so I was really excited when I saw this little beauty on netgalley. I mean, seriously, LOOK at that cover. It is smoking hot and even though I did not have the pleasure of reading the first book in this series I saw that it was about a completely different couple, so I decided to give this book and this author a try since I have read none of Anna Zabo’s other books. I am glad I did as it was pretty darn good.
There was an aspect of this book that I did not expect at all since I pretty much went in blind based on that sexy as all get out cover, and that would be the BDSM of it all. I have read plenty of M/M, but none of it as been of this genre and so this was a whole completely new experience for me.
This one was kind of a boss and assistant type of romance which I happen to greatly enjoy. Justin works under Eli at a very successful consulting firm. Eli is extremely assertive and blunt and well, DOMINANT. Justin is cheeky, and mouths of quite a bit for a such a submissive type. At first neither knows if the other is gay, but the ridiculous flirting and banter commence anyway and it was just so steamy and hilarious!!!
“Don’t you worry. I always come right on time.”
“No, indeed. Seems you’ve come just a bit prematurely.”
While Eli and both Justin are hilarious there is also plenty of angst in this story. Both of these men have suffered horrific and traumatizing events in their past that do not let them trust easily and trust is essential in building their Dominant/Submissive relationship.
“You’re a monster. Lawless. Deviant.”
I found myself really pulling for these two sweet men. I also really enjoyed the writing even though it was third person, which honestly isn’t my favorite type of writing in the romance genre but the author pulled it off really well. I still felt extremely connected to the characters and side characters. Just Business actually reminds me of Cherise Sinclair’s Club Shadowlands series. (the M/M version) I definitely recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good m/m dom/sub book!
